About: I’ve always been an animal lover, from horses to reptiles! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and some of the others throughout. We recently lost our dog to cancer at just shy of 13 years old, and I’m currently volunteering as a dog walker at the animal shelter to help fill that void. With the limited hours available there, I thought we could try this avenue as well. I work full time, but my daughter and I would love to find a dog to walk Wednesday through Friday evenings, or weekends! We are available some weekends for dog/cat care while you’re away as well. We love walking dogs, playing fetch, petting them, and providing lots of love. We enjoy playing with cat toys, and giving them plenty of attention as well.

I'm excited to make sure your beloved pets get all the cuddles and playtime they deserve and meet their needs! I'd be thrilled to care for your furry friends right in the comfort of their own home, making sure all their needs are met with a personal touch. About: I've taken care of animals since as long as I can remember! In total I have had 1 Beagle, 2 Golden Retrievers and 3 Cats to my name. I have fostered a total of 6 rabbits, 12 Cats, and 1 mouse that was pregnant and turned into 10 mice. As a former elementary school teacher and now a preacher, I’m used to being responsible, attentive, patient, and dependable. I also help my boss run a local business, which gives me a flexible schedule rather than a traditional 9–5 workday. This allows me to have plenty of flexibility and availability to give your pet the time and attention they deserve. I’m organized and comfortable managing schedules, routines, and responsibilities. Whether your pet needs regular walks, playtime, meals, medication, or simply some extra companionship, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they need. My experience as a teacher has taught me patience, kindness, and the importance of being attentive to individual needs. You can trust that your pet will be treated with love, safety, and care while you’re away. My goal is to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for—and to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I live on a good amount of land with plenty of space to provide your pet with a safe, active, and stimulating environment. I’ve grown up with dogs and have a strong understanding of their needs, from regular exercise and playtime to companionship and individual care. I also drive a minivan, which gives me the ability to safely transport pets when needed and provide opportunities for outdoor time and adventures. Whether it’s taking them for a walk, playing outside, going for a ride, or simply relaxing and keeping them company, I’ll make sure they get a good balance of exercise, attention, and love. I can also help look after your home while you’re away by watering plants, bringing in mail and packages, taking out the trash, and making sure everything is secure. My goal is for your pet to feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for—and for you to have peace of mind knowing both your pet and your home are in good hands!

About: Hello! I am Katrina. I am a recent graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Recreation Management and a double minor in Non Profit Organizations and Animal Sciences. I am located in Clover, SC. I absolutely adore animals; that love started from our family dog, my yorkshire terrier, Buddy. I have a lot of different availability so definitely feel free to contact me and so we can work something out. I love meeting new people and pets. I have not only taken care of my own dog but many of my friend pets as well. In addition to that, I have experience working at a doggy daycare and grooming salon along with field experiences from school with a multitude of farm animals. I am a super quick learner and am so excited to meet many new animals. :) I am Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid/CPR certified and Pet Emergency Academy Reptile, Amphibian, Avian, and Small Mammal Emergency First Aid Certified. I am looking to build my pet care experience with doing Rover along with my job. My schedule is flexible which is why I’m always open to communication, figuring out how I can help you and your pet. I will follow any instruction you give me. I am comfortable crating a dog if uncomfortable situations arise. Reading body language is something I think is super important and practice often when handling animals. Constant check ins while I am with your pet is also essential in my care.

About: Not only have I taken care of dogs for a family vet since I was 9, I worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility for years! I’ve taken dogs on countless walks, playdates, and even administered medication and provided first aid. Your pup is loved and cared for in my hands! I currently attend ETSU full time, with many gaps between my classes. I am available pretty much all day, every day, with the exception of a few one-hour classes! I come prepared to visit your pup! I let them approach me at their own speed, pace their walk how they please, and observe their body language and adjust accordingly! I have experience in introducing dogs, providing medical assistance, general care for all types of animals, and in rare cases, swiftly and safely breaking up dog fights.

About: Retired from workforce, former military, active person, daily walks with our dogs—neighborhood, parks, trails. Worked with certified dog trainer for our two dogs. Time on my hands. I am retired and have plenty of time when not playing with our own two dogs and exercising. They are the center of our lives. We have a fenced in back yard for our dogs. Since I am retired, and my wife works part time, I spend most of my time with our dogs. We will not bring client’s pets to our home nor will my wife be a caretaker.

I recently retired and miss having a pup in my life. I’m available and flexible for daily walks as well as able to provide boarding in my home. I am very attentive and loving toward all fur babies. About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 8. I absolutely love spending time outdoors and visiting the dog park. I have always enjoyed spending time with animals, and have watched several pets besides my own. I currently attend App State as an IO Psychology Graduate Student, so I have a very flexible schedule. I frequently go for runs at local parks after work, and would love to bring your dog with! I have a backyard, but it is unfenced. However I am willing to take pets to any other locations, such as hiking trails or dog parks. I am able to spend time with pets because all of my free time is spent outdoors! Whether it's taking a walk around the neighborhood, running around a state park, or hanging out in the backyard, I enjoy being outdoors regardless of the weather. I am not able to take dogs into my apartment, however I have a car for easy transportation to nearby outdoor areas. There are so many great options in Boone, I will definitely find a great place to take your dog!

About: I have a long history of in house pet sitting over the last 15 years as well as caring for my own. I feel comfortable with puppies, older dogs, giving medicine and exercising hyper dogs. I have 15 year old super mutt (junkyard dog as we like to say) and a 1.5 year old chocolate lab who are both well socialized and love all dogs. I have an extremely flexible schedule currently. Id love to be walking any dogs during the work day so they are nice and rested when you get home! My pets are beyond spoiled. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I love all dogs and will treat yours like my own! I like to maintain routines for pets and make sure they have a good balance of stimulation and rest.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
