“This is the first time I have used Rover and Haley was amazing! She clearly has a love for animals and was so sweet to my two cats! She sent pictures daily and updated me on how the cats were doing! She will be my go to anytime I need a cat sitter!”

About: We care about dogs like if they were our own. My two boys help feed them and cuddle them. We have a big backyard for your dog to run in. Pet care fits perfectly as I’m a stay home mom just trying ro make some cash while still be with my kids. And I know the struggle of finding someone trustworthy to care for our pets. We do not feed our pets table food because we know how harmful that can be. There are spices that can harm your pets and we take no chances in this house.
“Cecilia is awesome! She took such great care of my bunny. She made sure Nipsy was taken care of & it was in the middle of a snow storm so driving was difficult. I highly recommend her!!”

“Colleen has taken care of my diabetic cat multiple times now and I can vouch for her professionalism and excellent service. She is highly reliable and does her best to keep my house tidy. She is a trustworthy person.”

“It is a pleasure to give this review, this was the first time we have used a Rover sitter to come into our home, we had to make the change for the well-being of Mack. Desarie followed the instructions needed for Mack which was crucial because of his allergies. Desirae was great because of her love of pets but also because her knowledge of pit bulls, which was comforting to say the least. She is very warm and respectful, thoughtful, humble and caring. Mack was well taken care of, and she exceeded our expectations with great joy. Desirae cared for Mack as if he was her pet and we experienced the evidence when we returned home, it was though we never left, so I would highly recommend her service for caring for pet so please give her the opportunity to build up her clientele, she has done great for her first time with Rover.”

“Sierra is the absolute BEST!! She is thoughtful and very good with animals. You can see how much she loves to care for animals. When we need to go out of town, we know our babies are well taken care of!! I Highly, Highly recommend her!!! Book here today!! :)”

“We are so grateful to Kim for taking care of Kira while we were away! Kira is a very shy and fearful rescue dog who has had a tough adjustment period, and Kim was so calm, patient, and professional the entire time. Kim showed incredible care, understanding, and experience in handling a challenging dog with compassion. She kept us updated regularly and made sure Kira was safe, fed, and as comfortable as possible. We truly appreciate her patience and kindness. Thank you again, Kim!”

“Emily was all my dogs first experience with Rover and I was a little worried at first because they can be very protective. Emily came over beforehand and met them and they instantly loved her! She went above and beyond while caring for them. We will definitely be repeat customers of hers!”

About: I’m a pre‑vet student with two years of hands‑on experience working in dog kennels and boarding facilities. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, medications, and pets who need special care. I also have experience with timid, reactive, or nervous animals and always move at their pace. Whether it’s a big dog who loves long walks or a small pup who needs gentle handling, I prioritize safety, comfort, and trust in every visit. This summer, I’ll be in classes from 10–5, but I’m fully available for morning and evening care. For pet‑sitting, I stop by in the morning for a shorter visit, then spend extended time with your pets after class for enrichment, walks, and companionship. For dog‑walking, I’m available after 5:30 PM and in the mornings between 7:30-9 AM. I’m comfortable supporting pets with special requirements, including training, potty training, and medications. I can crate at night if preferred or allow free‑roam based on your pet’s routine. If your dog isn’t comfortable on walks, I’m happy to provide yard play or indoor enrichment instead. During sits, I typically give at least one 30‑minute walk a day, often longer when appropriate. For cats, I offer enrichment tailored to their personality — playtime, affection, or quiet companionship if they prefer space. When owners are comfortable, I also enjoy taking dogs on hikes and using a secure harness buckle in the car. While I can’t guarantee a hike every stay, I always aim to include at least one long enrichment walk or adventure during my time with your pet.
“Amazing job! What a friendly and helpful companion to our little beagle while we were away. Would recommend her in the highest esteem and definitely will be who I contact in the future!!”

“She took an excellent care of my dog, very responsible and caring for my dog needs! She gave daily updates on my dog, with picture an a summary of what she found and did with him. Appreciate!”

Christine did an amazing job. I met with her kind of short notice and I’m glad she was able to watch my kitties. They were a handful but it was nice knowing they were being taken care of. She was also amazing taking care of other things that I asked regarding the house and odds n ends. Communication was great including pictures. Would definitely use them again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
