“Alondra was really awesome with our dog Mackie. She gave Mackie lots of exercise and playtime, played with family and met new friend puppies too. We left Mackie with Elondra on two separate consecutive days, he was always happy and wore out when we picked him up. There's a large secure yard in a very nice neighborhood, we didn't have to worry one bit about leaving our baby with Alondra. We'd give 10 stars if we could.”

“Layla spent her days with a 3 year old to play with and was spoiled rotten. She looked so happy in the pictures I was sent so I didn't have to worry about Layla while at work!”

About: I've loved dogs my whole life! When I was born my mom had a chocolate lab and a doberman. Then my dad got a rescue pitbull and a husky mix. Right now my family has a mini golden doodle who's been with us for 14 years and a mini Aussie doodle. I also have a pitbull mix named nova! She's two years old. I’ve never met an animal that didn’t like me! I just graduated esthetician school and I’m currently starting my business. Everything I make on rover goes towards my career! Im currently starting my entrepreneurial journey. Right now I’m a full time pet care giver. I also work a weekend night job. I do not have a set schedule so I have open availability. I prefer to care for pets in my home but I’m always happy to accommodate whatever the client needs. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of room for play and accessible paths for walks. During sittings I make sure to not only take great care of the pet but the clients home as well.
“Our Aussiedoodle had a wonderful time with Barbara! He can be a little shy, but he happily ran out to play with the other sweet dogs that were there that day. Although Barbara's house isnt close for us, the drive was definitely worth the peace of mind knowing that Oliver was in safe hands. We'd definitely leave him with Barbara again!”

“Kathy is awesome…we are so very thankful that we found her to care for Paco this winter while we were in Green Valley. She is very kind and Paco is so at ease with her and Rodney. A perfect fit! We will look forward to seeing her when we return next winter.”

About: I've had dogs most of my life. First was Lance, a Springer Spaniel, when i was 4-yrs old. Add German Shorthair Pointers, Weimeraners, Labs, both English and Anerican Cocker Spaniels, terrier mix breeds and my current pup is a Long Hair Chihuahua. Most of my dogs have been shelter rescues. Also, I foster dogs for local shelters. I am retired and spend most of my time at home working in my new garden reading, or crafting. When we have dog guests, our time is devoted primarily to our visitors. Human away time rarely exceeds 4-hrs per day. I have a large fenced yard to run and play in whenever they want Chewy, the Chihuahua, is a friendly companion. Indoors is a dog-friendly/dog priority 3-bdrm home. Plenty of space if a visitor needs some quiet privacy or a mim with pups wants separation. Daily walks add to our exercise regime. Balls, frisbees and dogs are shared. Treats abound!
“So incredibly grateful for finding you, Christie! (And Daniel too!🙂). Christie, your skills with dogs who are not accustomed to being around other dogs is truly remarkable! I told my husband you are a dog whisperer. Thank you for giving us a home we feel comfortable leaving Lucy & Lily when we go on vacations. With gratitude, Trish & Mic ❤️”

About: I love dogs and more likely I will treat it like a baby cause their loveable and will treat them good and love hem even tho if it's not my own, I'll still show love and confront the dog and be on its side. The thing is of taking care of dogs is that I would never want to leave it's side. I always want to be on its side. I feel like I could be clingy to someone's dog. I would never want to keep my eyes off of it. That's how much I care for dogs, I have this love for dogs I want to take care of it like it's a baby while their owners are gone. Showing them love is what I feel they need even if their owners are gone. I’m looking to watch someone’s baby I’m available Monday-Wednesday all day long and can take pictures of your fur baby will you away for your reassurance:) I have a fenced yard, but will keep puppy’s or cats inside for the pets safety. Even if it’s hot out still I’ll let the big dogs in as long as they friendly :)

I pride myself on being available to the dogs and a present pet parent. I work from home and your pet will be included in my day to day activities as if it were my own. I am very attentive caring and sensitive to the needs of my pets which in turn will make me sensitive to the needs of your pet. The pets in my home are cared for as family, they get free reign of the house, they have full access to my back yard and they are not left alone in the back yard.
“Very nice young woman! My Ranger seemed very calm and relaxed in her home when I went to pick him up. He is just a young pup and she was able to manage him. I was really happy with her quick response to my last minute request, it was a life saver! Would recommend!”

About: I have lots of experience with dogs and cats. Throughout my childhood animals were my escape from reality. My dad bred dogs and I always loved them so much it was hard to say goodbye. In high school I took in a stray cat and it kept getting pregnant so I raised like 5 litters of kittens as well. To be honest I like animals more than people your babies are in good hands. I like to walk and get my steps in everyday so it won’t be much different walking with the doggos. I have dog and catsit for close friends and family but never strangers. Excited to do it! I work from home and my job is very flexible. I am my own boss so I can pretty much take breaks whenever I need to take your fur baby on walks or feed them as well as give them lots of attention when needed. My availability is very open and I love all animals. Since I work from home I’ll always be here to make sure your animal is well cared for and happy. I also go on multiple walks daily anyways to try and stay active so its perfect!!
About: If you know me, you know I love animals! My first job was working at PetsMart PetsHotel! From the tiniest frog to the biggest Great Dane, I love them all. I have 3 dogs of my own, 1 snake and 1 desert tortoise. In our home, we love all creatures big and small. I currently work from home with flexible hours to accommodate varying schedules. I have 2 kiddos of my own in school and a postal worker husband Safety and care are the biggest priorities in my opinion! I understand the importance of taking care of a pet as a member of the family!
“Kristie and Rick are wonderful! They are very responsive and took great care of my dog for the day. And their dog is a sweetie, too! I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.”

About: When I moved into my house in 2018, one of my first priorities was to get a dog. Recently, Addie, who spent the past 7 years with me, had to be put down unexpectedly. I miss her a ton, and I would love to open my home to another dog (the yard just calls out for it), but I am unable to adopt at the moment for logistical/financial reasons. I would love for your pets and I to keep each other company while I work from home during the day! I am a diligent and reliable person who works remotely as a paralegal, so I always need excuses (whether walks, play, food, snuggles, or just potty breaks) to get up from my desk and move at intervals throughout the work day. I love animals of all kinds - in addition to my own dog, I can submit my friends' pets as references (Mildred the cat likes me better than her owner's wife, and Maggie the dog is obsessed with me while spurning every other friend her owners have). I'm also a birdwatcher and a huge fan of all the wildlife in my yard, from bunnies to lizards. My dog training and medical/senior pet care skills are limited, but I am open to learning and strongly attentive to detail - I will be sure to give your pet what they need. I work from home during the week, with approximate hours of 7 am - 4 pm M-F. On Tuesdays I have appointments in the afternoons, so I will not be available for day care that day. Weekend availability will depend on my plans. I don't have any pets at home currently. I have a screened-in patio with a dog door leading to the fenced-in backyard. When the weather is nice (not too hot), I like to work in the patio. The yard backs onto a wash, so there is a lot of wildlife in the area. Javelinas and coyotes frequent the area but cannot get into the yard. I have seen two rattlesnakes in the yard in 7 years of living here. I would not leave small/medium dogs or cats outside unsupervised. If you give permission, I would feel comfortable leaving large dogs who are snake trained outside while I'm in the house (as I often did with my 80 lb golden doodle).
“Thank you Beth for watching Nellie for the day! She loved meeting all the dogs, chickens, and goats. When we picked her up she was asleep in the car within 2 minutes. Highly recommend Beth and we will definitely reach out next time we’re in Tucson!”

About: I can communicate with dogs and cats to make them feel safe and loved, I teach them how to communicate with me and some fun tricks depending on their age. I am currently working part time in a Day Program for people with disabilities, I am looking for a more flexible schedule and to be around pets because I feel they need people who really care for them. I have a medium sized patio and front porch however I never leave them outside without supervision, same if the pet sitting is at the client’s home.
“Marley really enjoyed spending the day with Julie and the other pups! He seemed very happy when I picked him up! I felt very comfortable leaving him with Julie, and will definitely be booking with her again in the near future! Thank you so much for loving my baby Julie ♥️”

“Chris was great! Super flexible to work with and sent plenty of update pictures and videos showing me how much fun Pickles was having! I will definitely be using him again next time I’m in town!”

“We are so grateful to have connected with Lesley. She is a remarkable human being and she treated our Edith with so much love and care. Already looking forward to their next day together. Can not thank you enough, Lesley. Blessings and peace to you.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
