“Brenda took great care of my senior dog, Tessa while I was away for 5 days! She provided updates and pictures. Definitely would recommend and I expect to have her watch Tessa again in the future!”

“Paula helped us out with a last minute booking, she was incredible! Quick and clear communication! From my mom: “she's amazing sent me about 4 pictures letting me know he was such a good boy and getting along with other dogs. I was so happy to have her do that for me. Really happy with her! Definitely gonna use her again” thanks Paula!!!”
“Mckenna and her husband were AMAZING! We took a trip to Orlando and they watched our girl for 4 nights and we couldn’t be happier. Dolly had the time of her life and she will definitely be back!”

“Bailey had such a lovely time at Susan and Robert’s home! I received plenty of updates and photos and felt assured that Bailey was comfortable and well taken care of. Would absolutely have them watch her again”

“Lori was so wonderful and caring with my dog Precious. I knew that she was in great hands while I was away. Lori treated Precious like family and made her feel right at home. I would highly recommend Lori to care for your dog!”

“James took such good care of my weim boy! My boy isn’t always the easiest dog to handle, and he can be high maintenance, and James made it seem like he was a breeze! Quickly Responsive, followed any/all care instructions. So happy to have peace of mind knowing my dog is well taken care of when he is there.”

“Brooklyn is absolutely AMAZING with our mini- doxie! She is well loved and taken care while in her care- we get daily pictures, videos, and updates. We are at peace going on vacation out of country knowing our fur baby is so well taken care of 💜”

“Tyler was friendly and professional to both me and Bailey. Bailey is a active 2 yr. old and Tyler seamed up to the challenge. He also has ample room on his property for outdoor activites, yet he still took our Labrador Retriever to the dog park. I give Tyler A+. If the need arises again Tyler will get the NOD.”

“5-stars for Jen G! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I think we’re all nervous leaving our fur babies with a new sitter. No worries with Jen. She treats them like her own and they get spoiled with love and attention. Her assistants Baxter and Rigby were a joy for our Tanner to play with. He can’t wait to return! Jen’s communication along with many hilarious photos from their playtime were excellent and reassuring. Thank you, Jen!”

“I booked Blanca based on the excellent reviews and she didn't disappoint. Great home and family to watch our fur babies for 2 days. She took a lot of pictures and it was obvious they got a lot of loving.”

“Mike took our dog on short notice on a holiday weekend. He sent picture updates whenever I texted him, as well as text messages on how she was doing. My dog seemed to have loved her stay with Mike. He is a very nice and pleasant person to talk to. I would recommend Mike and his dog services 10/10. Thanks again Mike.”

“Martha was amazing with Koda! She sent me updates and pics. He was smiling and I’m sure he was happy, especially when she arranged a playdate for him. He’s really social and she was on top of that. Great home and atmosphere for my pup. Many, many thanks”

“Michele who was recommended by a neighbor, was absolutely amazing and I had no worries at all leaving my two pups in her care. Her home was filled with toys, doggie beds and plenty of room to roam and play. I could enjoy my daughters beautiful wedding and not worry about them, which was priceless. I will definitely being using Michele's services again! Highly recommend!”

“All I can say is A++, Brody was very well taken care of, Diana and her hubby were so welcoming when we dropped Brody off, she does slow introductions with her own dogs and Brody had friends to play with. Diana's home is extremely clean and well maintained and had no issues leaving Brody in her care. She sent us pictures and even a short video or two, made our trip to DC stress free knowing he was in good hands, Brody came home happy and as playful as ever so I know he was treated kindly and with love. As a pet owner you can tell your pets body language and he was as happy as when we dropped him off for his puppy staycation! Diana is very friendly and communicates quickly. We were running late to drop him off and she was very accommodating, can recommend her enough, her price per night can't be beat for the awesome care your furry baby will enjoy! It is well worth the ride to her home even if it's a little out of the way, take the drive and book with her! We will always see if she's available in the future, A+ all the way!!!”

“Ashlee made the whole process super easy and comfortable. She kept us updated with pictures almost every day and I know our Charlie had a great “vacation” from us :-) Will definitely use her again soon!”

“Kateri was absolutely fantastic for our dog penny! She took wonderful care of her, and sent daily photos and videos, which i really appreciated, because penny is my baby and best friend and love of my life, lol. Penny was sad to leave!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
