“Nacho is a very selective Chihuahua who immediately adored Nicole. He exhibited none of the signs of anxiety he generally does when he meets someone new (or even someone he has met several times). He accepted Nicole as one of his special people and behaved as well (if not better!) for her than he does at home. Nicole sent us photos of Nacho napping, taking walks and looking completely adorable while he was in her care; we could see how content he was and were able to have peace of mind while we were traveling. Nacho will definitely be staying with Nicole the next time we need a dog sitter.”

“Peppa had a great time with Mariah! This was Peppa’s 1st overnight with Mariah. I received lots of pictures and updates which made me feel comfortable that Peppa was not only getting good care but she was having a great time! We will definitely use Mariah again!”

“Mary Sue was wonderful! Our dog was so well taken care of and we received daily updates and photos. We joked that our dog was so happy she wouldn’t want to leave!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Penny’s stay! From start to finish, she was communicative and kept us updated with regular messages and adorable pictures, so we always knew Penny was in good hands. Penny came back happy, relaxed, and clearly entertained—she even seemed to have had her own little vacation! We’re so grateful for the care and attention Penny received and highly recommend Janet’s services to any pet parent. We will definitely be booking again!”

“Michele is very friendly and attentive to our dogs needs. I can tell she thoroughly enjoys watching after our dog. I've left my dog with Michele multiple times and have always received lots of pictures and updates on how my dog is doing while in MicheleI'd care.”

“Our dog Sadie spent almost 3 weeks with Dee and she appeared to really enjoy her time. Dee was great with sending pictures and providing updates. Overall, we were very happy with our experience with Dee. We would recommend her to our friends and family.”

“We were nervous to drop our 12 yr old dog with a sitter, but Kate eased our minds immediately by sending us frequent photos and updates over the 4 days we were away. We will definitely use Kate’s services again!!”

“Kelley was great. Mabel had a great stay with her. Kelley was attentive and gave me updates and was very respectful. We plan to use her again next time we're in the area.”

“When our flights got canceled, delaying our return home by a day, Eric was incredibly generous and offered to continue watching Pepper. It feels as though Pepper is incorporated into the family and Eric always has Pepper’s best interests at heart. He will continue to be our first pick for dog sitters on Rover.”

“Leaving our dog, Mazie with Sandee gives us total peace of mind. She is incredibly reliable and communicative, sending us multiple updates and photos daily. It is comforting to see how happy and relaxed Mazie is in her care. We always return to a happy, healthy dog and feel completely confident that everything is taken care of. We're very grateful that we have found her and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a trustworthy and experienced sitter.”

“I can't say enough wonderful things about Kirk & Anita and their home. Our dog is very large and needs a good workout every day. Their property is perfect with huge fenced in enclosures with lots of fun areas for the dogs to explore. They sent daily photos and updates and were willing to work around our schedule. Finn came home clean and exhausted along with a little goodie bag! We will definitely use them again!”
“Bob and Susan are the best. They truly care about their four legged guests! Knowing that our dog was loved and cared for just as we would do, put us,at ease while we were away for the week. They both got to know our dog and his routine. We looked forward each day to the daily pictures and texts. Thank you for the great care you gave Baxter while we were away. I think he misses you and his buddy Bert!”

“Megan W and her family were fantastic! Not only was she a delight to communicate with, my dog clearly loved her and her home, The pictures she sent of my furbaby showed him undeniably smiling ear to ear. She is a little bit off the beaten path which is exactly why I chose her as we were on our way to Rehoboth. It was an easy and short detour to drop our little buddy off on our way. Her place has plenty of shade, fencing, and other pups for my dog to enjoy. I will definitely be rebooking with Megan W in the future!”

“We are so grateful for Sterlin! She accepted extremely last minute on a holiday when we needed someone to watch our dog, Reggie, during our family beach day trip to Ocean City, NJ. She welcomed us inside right away, introduced Reggie to her other dogs, and helped him acclimate quickly to the new environment. Throughout the day, she sent us thoughtful photo updates of Reggie smiling and playing, which was so reassuring. Her home is also conveniently located just off the exit, making drop-off and pick-up easy. What else can we say—we’ll absolutely be using Sterlin again whenever we’re in town. Thank you, Sterlin!”

“Left my dog Cupid with Brenda for a weekend stay. She has a wonderful home that I know Cupid would love. A huge fenced yard for the pups to run around in and a huge friendly dog to help accommodate your dogs :). I will most likely be booking with her again.”

“Alaya and Lily were excellent! They sent updates with pictures, responded quickly, and most importantly took care of my pup as if it were their own. Will definitely book with them again. 🤗”

Mae Ann and Meg gave us a worry- ree holiday. They provided excellent care, responsive feedback and a daily photo to ensure Sam’s care. Their 3 York use were wonderful company and Sam felt right at home. Their home centers around the pets they board and they really love what they do. Sam even came home bathed with clean bedding! I highly recommend this boarding home, very near Wildwood if you are looking for a reliable home while you visit this part of the Jersey Shore. Susan Pivko August 25, 2025

Christine took wonderful care of Taake for a second time today! She’s such a dog lover, easy to communicate with (including sending a great video of Taake), and has such a welcoming home. We were so grateful Taake had a chance to rest and enjoy time with Christine today. Looking forward to next time!

Christine was absolutely phenomenal with our German Shepherd. It was my first time using Rover and I was thrilled with how well Christine cared for my dog. When she dropped him off, he was so happy so I know he had a great time and was well cared for. She even ran out and got him some more food as I had forgotten to provide the proper amount. Plus, she was so sweet and kind to us humans too! I would definitely recommend her to anyone in the area.

Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
