“Mariah was absolutely amazing. ! Our 13 month old puppy is a pandemic puppy and we have not been apart from him since last July 2020. Mariah was empathetic, and loving ! She kept us updated with videos and photos to assure us that Charlie was fine. We felt comfortable knowing that our sweet puppy was happy and well taken care of while we are on vacation. We highly recommend Mariah and are grateful to have found her !”

About: I have always grown up with dogs. I’ve helped train my own and have been relied on to watch neighbors’ and friends’ over the years as well! I worked for a dog walking company for over a year. I am a graduating college student with a good bit of free time most days and will be free for most the summer to care for your pets. I will play, pet, and walk with your dogs as needed, and enjoy every second of it. If needed to be in a crate i will place a toy with them and provide a treat if allowed.
“My dogs love going to stay with Dee. She treats them like they are her own puppies. They get excited as soon as we pull up to her house anticipating a day of fun and snuggles. I appreciate knowing my beloved girls are well taken care of. Thank you Dee! Stevie and Pearl will be back.”

“Sol was so amazing with my dog. I cannot thank her enough for going above and beyond taking care of my dog, Teddy. She kept me updated throughout his entire stay and sent me adorable pictures and videos of him. I really appreciate her keeping me informed. My dog, Teddy, is usually nervous at first, but Sol took the time to make sure Teddy was comfortable with her before I left him with her. She responds very quickly to all messages and requests. I am beyond grateful that I found her on this site. I am overly cautious about who is around my dog, and if they are able to take care of him, Sol proved without a doubt that she is to be trusted with my fur baby. I will be exclusively using her to watch Teddy going forward if she is available. Thank you so much, Sol, and Teddy looks forward to seeing you again!”

“Alexa was very responsive and was flexible in accommodating us for the care of our dog while vacationing in ocean City as we took a day to visit Cape May with a celebratory Birthday dinner. Thank you Alexa!”

“My puppy was so happy to go in every day, and was happy and tired every day when he left which is the most important measure for me. Alaya and Lily clearly care about my dog, and are responsible and easy to communicate with. Couldn’t recommend more! Thanks for having us!”

“Genevieve was so accommodating with our last minute reservation. She helped us out with our 11 year old lab while we took our kids to Massenutten. We got updates and photos from her while he was there. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again!”

“Our first meeting was the meet and great and I felt comfortable leaving Franco at Kelly's house for day care. Kelly was caring and friendly to our lab. The property has a large fenced in yard for Franco to run around. He had a room with a door, window and mattress which he napped on. Kelly followed instructions and I felt at ease the time I was away from him. Recommend her highly for dog care, and is located near the shore area for vacationing parents. A+ and four ruffs from Franco.”

“Top tier service! This was my first time using this service and I am so elated I ran into Sterlin. She provided constant communication about the activities she was doing with Bear which made me extremely comfortable and relieved. I also think Bear fell in love as well. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet as if they are there own there’s no need to look any further…YOU FOUND HER!”

“Jessica is amazing with Fur babies. Very accommodating and professional. My Tug love going there. Its always a great day whenever he spends his day with her. Her dog Tashi is very good with other dogs. Tug's favorite retreat is his stay at Jessica's. Highly recommended 👌”

“Extremely calm and knowledgeable. Knew exactly how to introduce our Boston Terrier to her own dogs. Everything went smoothly. Her home was immaculate and organized. She sent pictures frequently. Our dog looked extremely relaxed and happy in her home. She came home exhausted from playing in their large fenced in yard. I felt very safe, leaving our precious pup with Meghan.”

“Bob and Susan are a truly delightful couple who gave us a warm welcome along with their sweet & friendly Ridgeback, Abby. Their hospitality was sincerely gracious, kind and genuine. The three of them invited us in their home & made us feel like we were lifelong friends even though we just met them. We left our girl, Gertie with them for doggie daycare and enjoyed receiving texts and photos with updates of Gertie to let us know how she was doing. Bob, Susan and Abby's excellent pet sitting service exceeded all our expectations. We are”

“Having just moved here from out-of-state, I was so pleased to get connected with Martha. Pippa was at ease with Martha and I was able to have a few hours to take care of some personal business knowing she was in good hands. I look forward to using Martha's services in the future. You can feel confident leaving your beloved pup in her care.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rio Grande
We needed a sitter for a few hours while visiting Wildwood, and Alexa was great. Super accommodating with our last minute changes in schedules, which facilitaed our planes a lot since we were comming from out of town. Most importantly, Roco went with her without a doubt and came back happy. Not anxious, and saying good bye to her in a loving way. And that for us is the best sign that he was in good care.

Mae Ann was super accommodating to our last minute request for a two day sitter, and was such a great friend to our dog Sunny! We got pictures of our happy pup being well taken care of and she had such a great time on the property and with the others! She obviously incredibly experienced and we're so happy with her help!!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rio Grande commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
