“Nacho is a very selective Chihuahua who immediately adored Nicole. He exhibited none of the signs of anxiety he generally does when he meets someone new (or even someone he has met several times). He accepted Nicole as one of his special people and behaved as well (if not better!) for her than he does at home. Nicole sent us photos of Nacho napping, taking walks and looking completely adorable while he was in her care; we could see how content he was and were able to have peace of mind while we were traveling. Nacho will definitely be staying with Nicole the next time we need a dog sitter.”

“Mariah is fabulous with my girls. My girls feel like they’re at home and they have no transition behaviors when I pick them up. I would highly recommend Mariah for taking care of your pets. They will be very well taken care of. Thank you, Mariah for another great stay for my girls!”

About: I have always grown up with dogs. I’ve helped train my own and have been relied on to watch neighbors’ and friends’ over the years as well! I worked for a dog walking company for over a year. I am a graduating college student with a good bit of free time most days and will be free for most the summer to care for your pets. I will play, pet, and walk with your dogs as needed, and enjoy every second of it. If needed to be in a crate i will place a toy with them and provide a treat if allowed.
“We were nervous to drop our 12 yr old dog with a sitter, but Kate eased our minds immediately by sending us frequent photos and updates over the 4 days we were away. We will definitely use Kate’s services again!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 17, I started walking dogs for a job years. It’s makes my day to see a dog smile and wag their tail out of happiness from a walk or a boarding. I am an experienced dog mom of 4 big and small dogs who are rescues. Currently a college student looking to help fund my education! I’m currently in college full time with evening classes. I have plenty of time to work with your pets and open flexibility to accommodate your needs and your pets. I have a long road and have a huge yard for your dog to run around and play. I have four dogs of my own to keep your dog company.
“A great Wildwood /Cape May vacation was had by All Dolly appeared happy and relaxed after her stay with Janet. I think she enjoyed the attention and company (both human and canine). No signs of anxiety or stress. Great job, Janet and friends!”

“Our dog Sadie spent almost 3 weeks with Dee and she appeared to really enjoy her time. Dee was great with sending pictures and providing updates. Overall, we were very happy with our experience with Dee. We would recommend her to our friends and family.”

“Zoe, our Jack Russell, is our favorite child. She had a great time and didn’t want to leave. We live here on the island and will definitely be calling on Mike again to take care of our baby.”

“Mary Sue is great! We baby our Trixie ridiculously and Mary Sue was fine with our eccentricities. Our Trixie was well cared for and had a great stay. We are delighted to have found such a terrific care giver for our little girl.”

“Sierra was great with our Chocolate Labrador! While on vacation, we needed someone to watch him while we went to a show out of town. Although timid, Sierra took her time and made our dog feel comfortable in a new space. We would definitely recommend to Sierra to any one who is local or from out of town!”

“Kelley took great care of our pup while we were away. She reached out frequently with updates and was quick to respond to our interactions as well. It was nice to know he was safe and well cared for.”

“Michelle was very attentive to our dog Mickey and took him on many walks which they both enjoyed. We loved getting lots of photos of Mickey and, when we picked him up, he was brushed so nicely that he almost looked groomed.”

“Megan W and her family were fantastic! Not only was she a delight to communicate with, my dog clearly loved her and her home, The pictures she sent of my furbaby showed him undeniably smiling ear to ear. She is a little bit off the beaten path which is exactly why I chose her as we were on our way to Rehoboth. It was an easy and short detour to drop our little buddy off on our way. Her place has plenty of shade, fencing, and other pups for my dog to enjoy. I will definitely be rebooking with Megan W in the future!”

“My 3 yr old red lab was totally comfortable and at home with Bob & Susan. There were great with pre-visit info as well as ongoing communication during her stay. I’ll definately be bringing her back!”

“Paula helped us out with a last minute booking, she was incredible! Quick and clear communication! From my mom: “she's amazing sent me about 4 pictures letting me know he was such a good boy and getting along with other dogs. I was so happy to have her do that for me. Really happy with her! Definitely gonna use her again” thanks Paula!!!”
“Leaving our dog, Mazie with Sandee gives us total peace of mind. She is incredibly reliable and communicative, sending us multiple updates and photos daily. It is comforting to see how happy and relaxed Mazie is in her care. We always return to a happy, healthy dog and feel completely confident that everything is taken care of. We're very grateful that we have found her and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a trustworthy and experienced sitter.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Tabernacle
Mae Ann and Meg gave us a worry- ree holiday. They provided excellent care, responsive feedback and a daily photo to ensure Sam’s care. Their 3 York use were wonderful company and Sam felt right at home. Their home centers around the pets they board and they really love what they do. Sam even came home bathed with clean bedding! I highly recommend this boarding home, very near Wildwood if you are looking for a reliable home while you visit this part of the Jersey Shore. Susan Pivko August 25, 2025

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
81% of Tabernacle sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Tabernacle landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tabernacle home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tabernacle.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tabernacle sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
