“Nacho is a very selective Chihuahua who immediately adored Nicole. He exhibited none of the signs of anxiety he generally does when he meets someone new (or even someone he has met several times). He accepted Nicole as one of his special people and behaved as well (if not better!) for her than he does at home. Nicole sent us photos of Nacho napping, taking walks and looking completely adorable while he was in her care; we could see how content he was and were able to have peace of mind while we were traveling. Nacho will definitely be staying with Nicole the next time we need a dog sitter.”

“I don’t enjoy leaving my Anna (my doodle) at all. But when I must, I do so with ease and with peace of mind, knowing that Mariah will take great care of her in my place. Thank you Mariah 🙏”

“We were nervous to drop our 12 yr old dog with a sitter, but Kate eased our minds immediately by sending us frequent photos and updates over the 4 days we were away. We will definitely use Kate’s services again!!”

“Our 2 pups had the absolute best time with Dee! It was our puppies first time away with a sitter and Dee treated her like her own! She also took great care of our senior dog. She sent us a ton of pictures and videos and put us at ease and made the experience super smooth and easy!”
“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Penny’s stay! From start to finish, she was communicative and kept us updated with regular messages and adorable pictures, so we always knew Penny was in good hands. Penny came back happy, relaxed, and clearly entertained—she even seemed to have had her own little vacation! We’re so grateful for the care and attention Penny received and highly recommend Janet’s services to any pet parent. We will definitely be booking again!”

“Mary Sue was wonderful with our 7 month old Goldendoodle. We received plenty of updates and pictures throughout his stay. It was the first time leaving him and we had a very positive experience with her care. We hope that he can visit again this summer.”

“Our Stella loved her stay with Michael. He was a true gentleman and loves animals. We picked her up almost everyday for a few hours to take her to the beach. Michael was overly accommodating with the 6aam pick ups and odd drop off times. I highly recommend Michael and so does Stella.”

“I was in need of a sitter for my 12 week old puppy and almost 3 year old labs. Janice met and exceeded all my expectations! She is very knowledgeable and has a great demeanor with the dogs. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“This was our 1st time using Kelley and it all went well. She has a separate room for the dogs that's fairly large. Also a fenced yard. great communication. Highly recommended!”

“Megan watched our Charlotte and kept us up-to date with her activities. She cared for Charlotte as if she was her own! This was definitely an upgrade to leaving her at a kennel. Megan is super kind and thoughtful. Our Charlotte loved her vacation so we could, stress free, enjoy ours.”

“Mickey was a very gracious and thoughtful host for our year and a half old wire hair fox terrier. Mickey dealt with a small injury to Gracie‘s paw that occurred just before we dropped her off, keeping her front paw bandaged many times as Gracie decided she did not want to wear it. She also took Gracie for 2 1/2 mile walks, which is exactly what that breed needs. We absolutely recommend Mickey.”

“My 2 girls were so happy with Sandee, i could not have asked for better care of my two spoilt pups! I am very grateful to Sandee for taking my girls for the afternoon, which freed us up to do the necessary things related to purchasing a home. I won't hesitate to go back to Sandee and trust her with my precious fur babies. Thank you Sandee!!!!”

“Kelly was wonderful. My little Maggie was happy and well taken care of. The yard is well fenced and shady. Maggie got along very well with Kelly’s two dogs. I would highly recommend Kelly!!!!!!!”

“Our Zoli received such awesome care while with Bob and Susan, we were worried she’d be bored coming back with us!! Bob and Susan went above and beyond our expectations and we could see via daily pictures from Susan how happy Zoli was playing with the other pups at the house. I knew immediately upon speaking with both Bob and Susan prior to our trip that Zoli was going to the perfect place...and it truly was!! I highly recommend Susan & Bob!! We will always use them when traveling to the Rehoboth Beach area!!”

“Denise is awesome! My little Chi was not so great the first time I left her but Denise was willing to work with her and the 2nd time she stayed with Denise there were no issues, she was very happy to stay there. I really appreciate Denise's willingness to work with her. She has a lovely yard also and my little girl loves it!”

“We are so grateful for Sterlin! She accepted extremely last minute on a holiday when we needed someone to watch our dog, Reggie, during our family beach day trip to Ocean City, NJ. She welcomed us inside right away, introduced Reggie to her other dogs, and helped him acclimate quickly to the new environment. Throughout the day, she sent us thoughtful photo updates of Reggie smiling and playing, which was so reassuring. Her home is also conveniently located just off the exit, making drop-off and pick-up easy. What else can we say—we’ll absolutely be using Sterlin again whenever we’re in town. Thank you, Sterlin!”

“Brooklyn was wonderful to my two dogs. I was in town for business and traveling with my dogs. She took great care of them, played with them all day and made them feel comfortable stopping for the weekend in Delaware. I was traveling from GA to CT and this allowed me to relax would use her again when I return to town.”

“Martha was amazing with Koda! She sent me updates and pics. He was smiling and I’m sure he was happy, especially when she arranged a playdate for him. He’s really social and she was on top of that. Great home and atmosphere for my pup. Many, many thanks”

We had a wonderful experience with Nicole while we were in Cape May for the week! Loba stayed with her just 15 minutes down the road from us, which was so convenient. Nicole took amazing care of Loba, kept us updated every day with messages and pictures, and gave us great peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Loba was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We highly recommend Nicole and would absolutely have Loba stay with her again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 147 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Tabernacle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
83% of Tabernacle sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Tabernacle landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tabernacle home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tabernacle.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tabernacle sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
