“This is the second time we’ve used Jordyn to watch our dog in our home and she did great with her! We can tell Polly is comfortable with her and loves having her stay here. Jordyn keeps us updated and leaves the house nice and clean. Will definitely use her again for future trips!”

“Jennifer was absolutely wonderful watching Mika and Lilly! She was so personable and sweet from the first time we met so she could meet the dogs before we left and then was wonderful about providing updates on the dogs throughout our trip! Definitely recommend and will definitely use again!”

“Rebecca and team were wonderful! We had a great experience with our dog sitter. They took wonderful care of our pets and were very reliable. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pets were in good, experienced hands. We highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life. Currently live with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and my family has 3 other dogs! I’ve dog-sat for many years, both staying at homes and frequently checking in. I have a natural way of connecting with animals, and I love spending time with them! During the summer, I will have availability to walk dogs, let dogs out, and care for pets during the day and evenings on weekdays. June weekdays I am available after 12, and July weekdays I am available all day. Weekend availability is not consistent throughout the summer. I live with two dogs and two cats. I walk the dogs frequently, feed them breakfast and dinner, and keep their spaces clean and safe! I monitor pets as they chew on toys, and throw away toys that could be dangerous. Managing 4 pets is a handful, but I love it!

About: I’ve been cat and dog sitting for over a decade. I specialize in larger breeds but love animals of all sizes! I have a senior stafforshire terrier and a three year old pit mix, so I am well versed in all ages. I only work four days a week so I’ll have plenty of time to hang with your pups! I have most mornings and evenings free for both walks and making sure they’re comfortable at home! I’ll care for your dog in your home so that they’re as comfortable as possible, and treat both your animals and your home with the utmost respect and care.
“Grace was excellent! She provided updates when needed and was very helpful and attentive to our requests and instructions. We came home to a happy, healthy puppy and a clean house. All we could ask for in a sitter! We will definitely be booking Grace again! Thanks, Grace!”

About: I have lived with and trained multiple dogs and cats for my entire life! I am a massive animal lover and I have cared for disabled, senior, and young dogs! I am flexible with my hours. Some days I can spend the entire day in the house, others I can be there every 2-4 hours, and others I can do 4-8 hours. I work full days in Crystal Lake, but I can make my own hours to suit your needs. I am a very hands-on person. I cater to each dog's needs! Some dogs need lots of physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. I have experience with utilizing training techniques, puzzle toys, and stimulating activities for working breeds or high-energy dogs. I have patience for the senior dogs and have no issue with supporting their body weight and monitoring health.
About: Paws & Pals; Pet B&B and In-Home Care is a collaboration of the mother-daughter team, Nancy Grandinetti and her daughter, Jessica Boyd. With a shared, and boundless passion for animal welfare, and 50+ years of animal experience (between the two of us), you can be sure that you are leaving your fur-mily in the best possible hands! Nancy (51yo) began her long history in pet care at age 13, working in her uncle’s veterinary practice. During her time at Glendale Animal Hospital [Glen Ellyn, IL], she volunteered for EVERYTHING, from grooming to medication administration. This was followed shortly by her first “real” job at Save-A-Pet. Thus, began her long history of both jobs and volunteerism in the animal care community. Currently, even though her career has currently led her to sales, Nancy is a registered foster home for CPR Fund Canine Rescue [www.cprfund,com], specializing in difficult to rehabilitate dogs. Due to her work-from-home schedule, Nancy is primarily available for in-home boarding. She’s specifically set up for doggos that prefer to be alone. Jessica (34yo), instilled with her mother’s enthusiasm for animal care, has expanded that passion into equine and farm care. She has worked with a myriad of animals, including wild and exotic species. Presently, she has found her home as a part-time senior barn assistant at Main Stay Therapeutic Riding Farm [www.mainstayfarm,org]. About: I’ve been around any and all types of dogs since a young age. I am a future physical therapist assistant who is dependable, skilled in safety, and fun! My schedule is currently flexible between ending my school program and taking my licensure exam. I am a caretaker through and through and am eager to spread some of that love to dogs. Spending a summer with animals and outside is a dream! I am keen to follow instructions precisely, ask questions, and when in doubt, always go for the safest route. My priorities are always safety and comfort ability in regards to humans AND animals!
“My dogs loved her. Megan was very communicative and kind. My dogs have some quirks that she worked around wonderfully. She left my place looking the way I left it after an overnight stay too.”

“Toby is super punctual, dependable, kind, and caring. Toby watched my 9 week old puppy twice, and he was very loving and patient. During the time he stayed at my house, he not only watched my puppy for several hours, but also played with him and fed him per my instructions. I highly recommend Toby to take care of any pets. Toby is a spectacular pet sitter and an amazing human being.”

“Kylee is very knowledgeable and experienced with animals. She was flexible and accommodating with my pets' various needs (2 dogs and 2 cats, 2 of whom are senior with health conditions and special dietary and supplement needs). Everything was kept clean and she was communicative throughout. All of our pets were happy and relaxed upon our return. I highly recommend Kylee and her team!”

About: I’m a full-time higher education professional with years of experience in positions requiring trust, responsibility, and attention to detail. I provide calm, reliable care while keeping pets in their familiar environment. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect. I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus, taking care of only regular clients, but I’m back on the hunt for new furry friends! Please note that I did change my first name legally a few years back which you may observe in the reviews. I adore dogs but with my busy lifestyle, ownership is not in the cards for me. I believe they are a huge responsibility not to be taken lightly and I honor that by recognizing the limitations in my life. But that's where you come in! I get my snugs, and you get someone who will care for your fur baby as their own fur baby! I’m currently caring for animals in their home. As a military veteran, I understand how stressful it can be to travel often and worry about my little friends at home. Consistency and trust are deeply rooted in the work I do.

Antonie took such great care of our Lily and sent us the best pictures and updates while we were away! It can be tough leaving your pup with someone new - but I wouldn't hesitate to have Antonie back. She left the house in pristine condition and we felt secure that Lily was being taken care of. Highly recommend!

FAQs for House Sitting - Ridgefield
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,725 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ridgefield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ridgefield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ridgefield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ridgefield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ridgefield. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
