“Mariah is a wonderful sitter, she took great care of my baby. She took him on walks, played with him and had plenty of treats. I appreciated her sending pictures and videos while I was away to ease my mind. I will definitely use her again and would recommend her.”

“This was my first time using Sharon and all went well. She sent photos and videos of Lily and took Lily on frequent walks. She was quick to respond to my texts. I really appreciate Sharon’s responsible and professional nature. And when I picked up Lily at the end of her stay, Sharon gifted her a bag of treats and toys and a thank you note! I will definitely use Sharon again.”
“Rolanda was amazing! She was extremely nice throughout the entire process and helped me with any questions I had. She constantly kept me updated with pictures and it looked like my Bella had so much fun. From drop off to pick up she was just incredible and it was a really smooth process. Her communication is on point and she kept me comfortable throughout the process. Being that this was the first time I used this app I was nervous, but not anymore; I will definitely be using her again!”

“This was my first time leaving my fur baby with Ana and Byron. I was a little nervous as I didn’t know how she would react being in a new environment. Needless to say my worries were eased as soon as I saw pics and videos of her outside going for a walk or simply just laying on Byron’s lap. I will definitely be using them again as my fur baby was content and well taken care of.”

About: I’m fortunate to have experience with a wide variety of animals thanks to my cousins, who have two cats, three dogs, a turtle, and a horse. I help care for their pets regularly, so I’m comfortable meeting the unique needs of animals of all kinds and treating each one like family. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I’m currently finishing up breast cancer treatment and have intentionally chosen pet sitting as my primary work. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I truly enjoy spending time with animals, and being able to provide reliable, loving care while I’m in this season of life has been incredibly rewarding. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible. At my home, pets have access to a securely fenced backyard for supervised play, exercise, and potty breaks, along with plenty of attention, affection, and a comfortable place to relax. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s established schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any other care instructions. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.
“I'm so grateful for Iman! My senior dog got sick the day before my trip; she was flexible with the drop-off time so that I could get him to the vet before bringing him over. I'm always anxious about leaving my dog if he's not feeling well, but Iman is so attentive and communicative I had total peace of mind while I was out of town. When I picked up my dog he was in a great mood and his appetite was coming back. Thanks so much Iman!!”

“Ericka was so friendly and sweet with my dog Duke! She asked great questions before the booking that made it clear she’s experienced with dogs and a proactive, thoughtful caregiver. Even more importantly, she asked if I had any questions about her, which really put my mind at ease and showed how professional and considerate she is. While I was away, she sent lots of photos and updates—Duke looked completely at home, especially curled up and relaxed on her couch. I know my dog well, and it was obvious from the photos that he felt safe, loved, and well cared for. I’d absolutely trust Ericka to watch Duke again and highly recommend her!”

“I have to give Jesus a 5 star! He was very professional, I loved the pictures that was randomly sent. My pet was very comfortable with getting dropped off with him. That made me calm lol I will be using him again very soon. Thanks again Jesus p.s I referred you to some ppl.”

“Lisa is very approachable. Love how she stayed in constant communication with us. Lisa was very flexible as a snow storm delayed our pick up by two days! Lisa was very kind to our dog... appreciated everything she did. Will use again.”

“My experience with Jennifer was one of the best!! She was very professional.. loving and attentive to my dog! I love her and will be using her for all my future dog sitting needs”

“Mercedes has been nothing but wonderful. She took great care of our puppy who was only 5 months old. There was never a moment I had to worry about my dog not being in good care. She kept us updated, sent lots of pictures, and ensured us she was having a great time. She took our puppy on many walks and played with her lots! Her husband and her kids also loved the dog and got many pictures of them cuddling with her. I cannot recommend her enough, and went above and beyond! Mercedes is passionate about taking care of dogs and her kids and husband also have a deep love for animals. Next time we got out of town she will be the first person we call and recommend her to all our family and friends!”

“It’s so cute to see my Chaseypoo interact with Amia and Joshua, the kids and their pups. They adore her and she comes home happy and tired and ready for a nap.”

“Absolutely exceptional dog sitting experience! From the moment we reached out to inquire about Barbara's services, to the very end of my dog's stay, everything was seamless and stress-free. Barbara not only provided top-notch care for dog, Gracie, but she also went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and happiness. Communication was fantastic throughout the entire process, with regular updates and photos that reassured me Gracie was in great hands. It was evident that she and her husband genuinely loves animals and know how to cater to their individual needs. The environment provided for my dog was clean and safe. I appreciated the personalized attention given to my dog, including her dietary preferences and exercise routine being carefully followed. Returning home, Gracie was happy, healthy, and clearly had a wonderful time during her stay. I cannot recommend Barbara highly enough! If you're looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and passionate about animals, look no further. I will definitely be booking her services again in the future.”

“Kate is the best! I knew it was a match the first time I met her. My baby made new friends and had a great time at his "sleep over"😊 THANK YOU Kate for understanding my anxiety about leaving him with someone other than family.🥰”

Veronica was an amazing host to my dog. She provided updates and photos daily and was very timely with responses to my questions. While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
