“Gillian was fantastic! She provided excellent care and attention to detail sending me pics of my kitties daily. My girls are shy but Gillian went above and beyond to make sure she laid eyes on my one girl who finds the best hiding spots. I traveled for an extended time and it was so nice to be able to feel at ease knowing they were in Gillian's hands. I would highly recommend her services.”

“Karina is took amazing care of our cat while we were gone. Karina was always on time to arrive to give our cat his medications. She is so caring and compassionate. We love her updates with photos! Definitely recommend.”

“Amy was so amazing. Always on time and very good with our senior dog down to our very energetic golden retriever. Very kind and so communicative. We will definitely be rebooking.”

“Nicole was awesome! We went on vacation for a few days and she was so good to George. She provided feedback and a lot of photos too. We knew he was in good hands! Thank you, Nicole!”

“Nadia was so nice and down to earth when we met her at our home prior to our first visit. We felt 100% comfortable having her come to our home to take care of our doggies while we were away. She sent us multiple pics from the two drop in visits. We (and the dogs) are looking forward to having her come care for our fur babies again!”
“Scott was fantastic while taking care of our cats for the weekend. He clearly has lots of experience with cats and animals of all kinds. Scott made sure to ask good questions regarding their care needs which made me feel very comfortable having him watch our cats while we were gone. I will certainly be having Scott watch them again!”

“Donna is great. She has sat for my kitties several times now and every time she sends me plenty of updates along with details about her visit with photos. This time she administered antibiotics to my cat as well. I would definitely recommend Donna for any pet sitting needs!”

“Julianna came and did some drop-off visits for my malinois and pug, she was very communicative and punctual. My dogs were well taken care of and I really appreciate the peace of mind while we were out for the day.”

About: Having grown up with cats and dogs, I recently spent a couple of years on a horse farm caring for horses, cows, chickens, large dogs, and barn cats. From feeding and bathing to administering medicine, I've spent years with animals. I love meeting new pets and learning about them. I look forward to making memories with these new pets and hopefully making pet parents’ day a little easier. I’m currently a senior in high school but I only have 3 classes from 10-12:30 making my schedule pretty open on weekdays. On weekends I host kids birthday parties which are usually only 2 hours and from 12-2 or 2-4 other than that I am free. When it comes to drop in visits I like to follow strictly to pet parents instructions to make sure all expectations are being met with no risk of harm to pets or property.
“Mary was absolutely amazing with our puppy for lunch drop-ins! She’s great with instruction, respectful, and fantastic with communication. We will absolutely be using Mary again in the future.”

“Sarah did great with our cats…very reliable and a good cat photographer! She spent a good 30 mins each visit. Kept things tidy, even wound our grandfather clock for us. Would love to book her again.”

“Amber was fantastic! She set up a meet and greet with my animals and they immediately loved her. She had excellent communication and asked for expectations. We went over medications and time frames and she was very honest with her availability and schedule. Not only that, I was a dummy and had requested wrong dates in the future when I needed her that weekend. She was THANKFULLY available and we booked! The animals were well taken care of, we got tons of photos of our babies, and updates on our escape artists (cats). Not only that, I’m pretty sure she washed a few dishes in our sink which was such an amazing surprise after driving home from our weekend hockey tournament. It was a great experience and I look forward to hopefully booking her again!”

“This was our first time using a pet sitter we didn’t know and Elizabeth made us feel very comfortable. She was great with the cats, great communication. I would certainly use her again.”

About: I require meet and greets for all new pups at least one week in advance prior to their stay. Please allow for enough time for this if sending a new request and I have not cared for your pup yet. ☺️ I've taken care of dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and abilities my entire life (as well as hamsters, mice, turtles and fish). I've done volunteer work at my local vet as well as trained my own puppies and adult dogs over the years, and cared for my dogs and cats in their senior years. I've rescued abandoned cats and dogs, often being animals that have been injured, and taken them into my home to aid in their recovery, so I am familiar with care of pets with different abilities/medical needs. Friends, family and neighbors have relied on me to feed, walk, give medications, stay overnight and care for their pets. I have an immense amount of affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate each pet. I have a familiarity with animals, knowledge of animal behavior and a comfort and ability to work with animals of unknown disposition and those who may exhibit medical and other problems. I'm currently working full-time from home, so I'll have plenty of time to give your sweet, furry family members a ton of love and attention! I'm available for boarding on weekends and weekends. I do daily, thorough cleanings of all animal areas and feed my pup and cats twice a day. Your sweet boy or girl will be fed based on the directions given by you, at whatever times you prefer. I have 5 cats of my own and I also have an extra room that can be used solely for any visiting cats for their own peace of mind and comfort. None of my pets will be allowed in that room for the duration of your baby's stay if preferred (I've done this successfully multiple times with my family member's cats and new cats I have brought in over the years). Your pup can come along with mine for walks, or if that gives you worry, they can also stay home and only be taken out in the backyard when they have to go. Any time I will be gone for more than just a few minutes, I plug in my doggy camera so that I can check in at any moment. I work from home M-F, between the hours of 7am-5pm. Due to morning schedule of caring for several animals, working a full-time job, and bringing my son to school, I have limited drop-off and pick-up times to evenings only, up to 9:30 pm, M-F. This also allows me to have full attention on your pup when they first arrive to ensure they adjust well and feel comfortable. Weekend times are flexible. Pups are walked at least once daily (based on their leash training). I have a fenced in yard and also have a lead if one is preferred. Please let me know if your pup has any history of jumping fences. I can easily crate your dog if needed as I have two different sizes. I do daily cleanings of all animal areas and feed my pup and cats twice a day. Your sweet boy or girl will be fed at whatever times you prefer. I have an extra room that can be used solely for any visiting cats for their own peace of mind and comfort. Your pup can come along with mine for walks and dog park trips, or if that gives you worry, they can also stay home and only be taken out in the backyard when they have to go. Any time I am away from home I turn my doggy camera on so that I can check in at any moment (since they really are our babies and we tend to have anxiety about what might happen to them when we're gone in the same way we do with children)! There are no young children living in my home, but I do have a 16 year old son. While he'll definitely assist in providing your babies with extra love and affection during their stay (his naturally calm energy makes him great with animals), I provide all direct care for any visiting pet friends!
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of individualized care and attention I give every dog. I don’t just “watch” pets — I truly get to know their personalities, routines, and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have experience training puppies, including basic commands, leash manners, crate training, and reinforcing positive behaviors. I’m also confident caring for senior dogs who may need a slower pace, extra patience, or mobility support. Whether your pup is high-energy and playful or calm and cuddly, I adapt to their unique temperament. I prioritize clear communication, regular photo updates, and creating a stress-free experience for both pets and owners. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and well-being always come first. Pet care is a natural part of my daily and weekly routine — I intentionally structure my schedule to make sure I have dedicated, unhurried time for each dog. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, playtime, feeding schedules, or evening cuddles, I plan my days around the pets in my care so they receive consistent attention and companionship. I build flexibility into my week to accommodate different energy levels and needs, from active pups who love longer walks to seniors who prefer shorter, gentler outings. Because I prioritize reliability and routine, your dog can count on consistent care, and you can count on dependable communication and updates. Caring for pets isn’t something I squeeze in — it’s something I genuinely make space for. In My Home: When pets stay with me, I create a calm, safe, and welcoming environment that feels as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow your feeding schedules, potty routines, exercise needs, and any specific instructions you provide. Dogs receive plenty of supervised playtime, walks, mental stimulation, and affection. I’m mindful of introductions (if other pets are present), keep the space clean and secure, and make sure every dog has a comfortable area to rest and relax. In Your Home: When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their usual routine to reduce stress. I stick closely to feeding times, walks, and preferred activities. I also respect your home by keeping things tidy, bringing in mail if requested, and ensuring everything is secure before I leave. My goal is to make your absence feel as smooth and normal as possible for your pet. For both services, I prioritize safety, communication, and regular photo updates so you always know how your pet is doing. I treat every animal as if they were my own — with patience, attentiveness, and lots of love.
About: I work part time and am pretty flexible with my schedule. My fiancée and I currently have 4 cats but I grew up with dogs. I love dog sitting for friends and family. My previous dog was diabetic so I have given insulin and have with experience with senior dogs. I currently work part time so I have a lot of time to play with your animals! Our cats love to cuddle and to go for walks in their stroller. I use automatic feeders for dry food and give them wet food once a day. I’ve pet sat where animals are free fed or prefer to be fed at a specific time.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rexford
We have a senior pup with quite a few special needs and Tatiana has been wonderful at being gentle with him and accommodating of his needs when checking in on him during the day. We feel a lot more comfortable knowing our old boy is getting good care nowadays in the middle of the day.

Snickers loved Lynn! She was amazing with him, and had him doing his tricks for treats. She took the cutest pictures while he was having a wonderful time playing in my yard with her. She treated him like he was her own dog. She also had some helpful advice with her experience with her dogs as well. I’m hoping to help Snickers paws he licks after she gave some ideas to try.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
