About: this is my dream job!!! i’m so excited to be able to hang out with your pets! i love all kinds of animals and will always go out of my way to say hello, even if that means going to the dog park without my dog. i just moved here from maine, and heading to college in chicago in the fall, so im looking to explore and area and make some extra money! We just moved into a new house and neighborhood, so I’m totally open to care for any animal as we get settled! I love taking my dog on walks and playing or napping with my cat. I also love just chatting with them about my day or reading them stories when we relax. I care for my own animals everyday, and I know how nerve wracking it is to leave them alone with someone new! I promise to make them feel so loved, safe, and make sure their bellies are full! I believe in very reliable communication and will make sure to update you on your furry friends often!
“Amy was so amazing. Always on time and very good with our senior dog down to our very energetic golden retriever. Very kind and so communicative. We will definitely be rebooking.”

“Lila was wonderful with Snickers. She was very prompt and did everything I asked with his crazy senior dog behaviors. She’s sweet and loves dogs, it’s obvious with her interaction when she met my dog. It was also quite a last-minute booking, and she really helped us out that way.”

“Donna Marie was a life saver! I needed a sitter last minute and she came to the rescue! She took very good care of my dog and two cats and sent lots of pictures which put me at ease. I will happily book with her again.”

“Cassandra is a life saver!!! My rescue pup came way faster than expected and she has been helping us by coming and spending a hour with her during the day. Roxy absolutely loves her and I get detailed reports with the cutest pictures. Everything is left where it was. She’s is very trustworthy and reliable!!! Will definitely be using again.”

“Michelle was incredibly kind and understanding with our nervous rescue dog. After finding him abandoned in the woods, he’s been very shy and scared. Michelle showed immense patience and provided us with caring updates and photos. She even used commands he responded to and managed his anxiety brilliantly. She handled his jumping and barking like a true professional! We had a great experience with Michelle and will definitely call on her again when we need a dog sitter. Highly recommend her services!”

About: Hi ya’ll, my name is Luke and ive been a dog/animal owner/lower my whole life. I’m a fit 35 year old capable of handling dogs of all size with care as if they were my own. I currently have a 70 pound hound mix named Kane who I walk daily in the Ballston lake/Clifton Park area. I’m a technology professional who works from home 3 days a week which allows me the flexibility to care for your pet whether that means walks or drop ins. I will care for your pet at your residence as per your direction. At my home I have a large backyard for dogs to frolic.
About: As an RN (20+ years) and a Mom of 3 (ages 21, 11, and 8), I understand that pets are family members who deserve the utmost safety and care. With summer off from RN duties, I dedicate my time to making sure local pets stay happy, exercised, and loved. I’ve navigated the unique personalities of different breeds and temperaments, so I’m comfortable with everything from high-energy puppies to senior cats who just want a quiet nap. My partner may join for dog walking, and my 2 boys may join for doggy playtime if your pet would love the company! I can’t wait to meet your best friend! I have summers off from my RN role, with more time to dedicate to my family and pets. We love outdoor exercise, walks, and adventuring! I have a fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood with woods behind our home, and are near some trails and parks. We have a large home for pets to play or rest inside. We have quiet space to crate pets as well.

Scott made sure to ask good questions regarding their care needs which made me feel very comfortable having him watch our cats while we were gone. I will certainly be having Scott watch them again!”

“Nadia was so nice and down to earth when we met her at our home prior to our first visit. We felt 100% comfortable having her come to our home to take care of our doggies while we were away. My kitty gave me a sharp talking to when I got home from a week long break, but Lauren has been an amazing caretaker every time we leave town. Thanks for coming twice a day to accommodate out baby's med schedule. We feel so assured knowing you're here giving them the same cuddles we would. Thanks Lauren, always!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
