About: I grew up with 3 dogs, 12 cows, and 1 donkey named Sassy! I absolutely love taking care of pets, and I have a passion for helping others, which makes this role a perfect fit for me. While I’m new to Rover, I’m definitely not new to pet care. I have years of experience caring for animals, including looking after my sister’s two cats, pet and house sitting for friends, caring for my own dogs, and growing up on a farm. I understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets and your home, and I’ll always treat them with the same attention and care I would want for my own. Outside of my love for furry friends, I’m a graduate student at Texas State studying psychology with the goal of becoming a clinical psychologist. I’m an enthusiastic and friendly person who loves being outdoors and staying active. I would love to meet you and your pet to see if we would be a great fit! As a grad student, I have a pretty flexible schedule outside of my classes. Whether you need an early riser or a night owl, I’m your gal! I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits you and your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority! I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I’ll always take the time to learn what makes your furry friend feel most comfortable and secure. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, or anything else your pet may need. I also know how much trust it takes to leave both your pet and your home in someone else’s care. I’ll treat your home with respect, keep you updated while you’re away, and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, love, and supervision. My goal is for you to feel completely at ease knowing your furry family member is in caring and responsible hands!

“Brooke always helps us out with last minute pet care and out of town pet care. She always goes above and beyond and has attention to details. We will always choose her for our pets if available.”

“Victoria is great with our two babies! We loved the pictures she sends us and it looks they are having a great time! We know Wemby can be a handful since she is still a puppy and can’t thank Victoria enough! it’s a piece of mind knowing that Bruno and Wemby are in great hands!”

“I felt relieved the girls had Tiffany to look after them while we were out of town. She was on time and had great communication. She was very understanding with our scared rescue dog. She sent pictures and a report after the drop in visit. I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Mirella was wonderful! I needed a sitter last minute and she was so accommodating with all of my needs. I have a full house and my fur babes all need different things, and she made sure to fulfill them all! Highly recommend.”

About: Our dog of 14 years passed in 2024 and our dog of 2 years passed Dec 2025. We arent ready for a permanent new fur baby, but our hearts long to love on yours! Our kids love to run around in the backyard to wear your rambunctious puppies out! We also have experience in administering medications to animals and being gentle to older animals. I am a stay at home mom! Pet care easily fits into my day and nights. I am free to care for pee training puppies as well as needy older dogs. Animals have free reign of our house as we love them to snuggle on the couch with us! However, if your rules and training requires otherwise, we respect and honor that!
“Allina is so kind and she was very gentle with Hager my little old man! I will definitely be using her more in the future I felt very comfortable and at ease knowing she was looking in on him while I was gone for the day.💚”

About: Former dog sibling, current cat mom. I have experience with pet sitting, house sitting, and drop ins for both dogs and cats. I want to give your pets the most safe, and comfortable experience while you're away! I currently work 7:30-4 Mon-Fri. I can make select visits 12-1pm during week days and am very flexible with my weekends. I want to care for your pets the way that I would care for mine. I want to make the environment safe and comfortable in your absence, give an extra treat or two when able, and make sure your pets receive any special treatment or circumstance that your house has.
About: Hi! I’m Andy, a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for furry friends of all shapes and sizes. I’ve spent years caring for dogs, cats, and other pets—both my own and those of friends and neighbors—and I know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet like family. Because I work from home, pet care is naturally woven into my daily routine. I have the flexibility to give pets plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. Whether it’s a quick outdoor break, a midday walk, or just being present for companionship, I’m able to fully accommodate their needs without distractions or schedule conflicts. I love having pets around—it makes my workday better, and I make sure theirs is just as enjoyable and stress-free! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I create a calm, secure, and loving environment where they can feel safe and relaxed. I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, exercise, and any special instructions or medications.
“Jordan was absolutely amazing! This was our first time using Rover, so we were a bit nervous at first, but Jordan went out of her way to make us feel comfortable from the very beginning. She offered to meet our dogs before we left, which really helped make us feel better and was so attentive and reliable throughout the entire stay. She was also super patient with our very energetic Labrador- she worked super well with her! She kept us updated with messages and lots of photos, which we really appreciated. She even offered to walk our dogs and check in on them extra when she didn’t have to. We will absolutely be reaching out to her for any future pet-sitting needs and absolutely recommend her to anyone! Thank you Jordan!”

“Brandy was absolutely wonderful with Mia! She took such great care of her, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing Mia was in such loving and attentive hands. It’s clear Brandy truly cares about the pets she looks after, and that means everything to us. We’re so happy to have found such a reliable and caring sitter, and we will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Josesiiah was so kind, attentive and caring for our dog. He was prompt and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and ensure our pup was well cared for! We will be booking with him again”

“This is our first time trying Rover, after being very disappointed by multiple dog kennel services. My dog is not animal friendly, but otherwise very social with people and has anxiety when away from home for too long. The choice was very easy when Gabrielle came up on the search options. She is a fantastic caretaker, follows instructions to a T, and Cherry and her bonded quickly. We can’t wait to start traveling more now that we have a trusted guardian for Cherry.”

About: I’m a very calm, gentle, and attentive caregiver, and I’m especially good with small dogs, senior pups, and shy or sensitive dogs who need someone patient and soft-spoken. My own dog, a sweet 15-lb Chiweenie mix, has taught me how to read body language, support anxious pups, and create a peaceful, predictable routine. I focus on drop-in visits because I want your dog to stay in the environment where they feel safest. I follow your instructions closely and pay attention to the small details — feeding, medications, special routines, slow sniff-walks, favorite toys, emotional needs, and anything that helps your dog feel secure while you’re away. I’m also very communicative. You’ll get photos, updates, and quick responses, so you always know how your pup is doing. My goal is to give your dog gentle, loving care and give you peace of mind. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so it’s easy for me to make time for drop-in visits throughout the day. I already take my own small dog out regularly for walks, feeding, and attention, and I’m used to structuring my day around pet needs. It’s important to me that animals feel cared for and not rushed, so I plan visits in a way that allows for calm, unhurried attention and plenty of connection. Since I offer drop-in visits, my focus is on caring for pets in the comfort of their own home, where they feel safest. I follow your instructions closely—feeding schedules, medications, potty routines, walk preferences, training cues, and any house rules you want maintained. I’m very mindful of safety: I double-check doors, gates, and harnesses, stay alert on walks, and make sure your pet has fresh water and a calm, comforting presence. I treat your home with respect and leave everything exactly as I found it.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters? No one has magic hands like I do! I truly believe I give the best scratches and belly rubs, and I think your pet would agree. Aside from that, I LOVE to play! I never want your pet to feel bored or ignored. I believe they should get plenty of playtime, attention, and exercise so that when you come home after a long day of work, they’re happy, tired, and ready to relax with you. My goal is for your pet to be just as excited to see me again as I am to see them! I would love the opportunity to care for your pet more than once so I can build a genuine bond with them and become someone they feel comfortable and happy around. Although I’m new to Rover, I’m not new to caring for dogs. I’ve taken care of pets simply because I love animals and want to make sure they’re happy, safe, and cared for. I regularly help take care of my boyfriend’s five dogs when he’s away, so I’m comfortable caring for multiple dogs and making sure each one gets the attention they need. I hope you’ll give me the chance to show you that I can care for your pet just like they’re my own. I may be a new Rover sitter, but I’m ready to give your pet all the love, attention, playtime, and, of course, those magic scratches they deserve! I’m currently a full-time student at Texas State University, so I do have a busy schedule, but I take my bookings seriously and would never want to commit to something I couldn’t follow through with. I’m available for drop-ins and walks during the week, and on weekends I’m available all day. Because of my weekend availability, house sitting is my preferred service, since I can give your pet plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m happy to work around your schedule when I can and will always make sure your pet gets the care and attention they deserve. Unfortunately, I’m not able to host pets in my own home because my apartment is a little too small. However, I’m more than happy to house sit in your home! I’m very attentive to your pet’s routine, likes, dislikes, and any specific instructions you have for me. I want to make sure I’m providing care exactly the way you would want it. 🐕 Dog Walking Your dog’s safety is my top priority! If your dog isn’t comfortable around unfamiliar dogs, I’ll keep a safe distance from other dogs we come across on our walk. I’d rather give them plenty of space than risk an uncomfortable situation. Since we’ll be outside, I’ll also make sure your pup gets plenty of water and has a comfortable, safe walk. 🐾 Drop-Ins For drop in visits, I’ll make sure your pet is doing well, has everything they need, and gets plenty of love, attention, and, of course lots of scratches! I’ll also follow any feeding, bathroom, medication, or other instructions you leave for me.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Redwood
Mirella was awesome! She took excellent care of our kitties while we were away and kept us constantly updated! She even received packages for us and brought them in the house. She interacted with the kitties on each visit giving affection not just food! She was a delight to work with!

I couldn't be happier with Brooke & Steven! They kept me fully updated the entire time with check-ins and awesome photos (including shots of my shy kitties!). On top of keeping up with feeding, watering, and litter box duties, they gracefully worked through a home alarm glitch and even took out my trash bins. Extremely reliable and attentive to details. I will definitely be booking them again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
