“Met with Radka and James. They have a great big yard that i know my dog loves to run around in. Radka has always been quick to answer. She sent me a lot of pictures and videos to keep me updated about yoda. From the pictures she sent i could tell my dog was happy and comfortable… he just seemed is one of their dogs. I felt comfortable leaving him with them as i could tell they would take care of my dog just as good as I do. I already have another boarding time booked. I will 100% recommend them.”

About: I have had at least one dog all of my life. Often times more than one. Currently living with just one Lab who would love a visitor/playmate. I foster emergency overnights on rescue transports. I have been a caregiver for dogs of all ages and kinds; puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with separation anxiety. I have grandcats I house sit for and have also taken care of chickens. I work from home with tons of flexibility. I have one adult child at home in graduate school, they have a health condition which keeps them home most days too, so your pet is never short of human companionship. I live in a great neighborhood for walks on a leash. I provide dog sitting in a one story home with a large, wooded fenced yard in central Richmond neighborhood. Great for dogs of all ages and abilities. I live with one Lab that's a large couch potato. He also likes his human to sit outside with him rather than be out there all by himself. So we spend lots of time outside together. Pets are permitted on furniture and the bed, whatever makes them feel at home. I do have a large dog crate that can be set up if needed, but only if requested as it will put your pet at ease. The most important factor is making sure your pet feels comfortable, keeping their routines and habits to lessen the stress of a new place.
“Sure! Here’s a thoughtful review you can use: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amanda and Adam did an amazing job pet-sitting my dog over the weekend! They made sure she felt right at home, sending me daily updates and adorable pictures that gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear they truly cared for her, and I could tell she was happy and well taken care of. I really appreciate their reliability and kindness, and I will absolutely continue to use them in the future. Highly recommend!”

“My pooch was very well cared for with Susan! She has a sweet dog herself that was great play companion. Appreciated daily pics to keep me updated of how she was doing!”

“My 2 dogs loved staying with Jennifer. She is great with them. Her home is warm and welcoming with a nice fenced yard for the dogs to play in. I have already booked their next stay with her. :)”

“Ashley was amazing. She and her family took fantastic care of my two dogs while I had to leave town unexpectedly for a family emergency. She updated me with pictures and videos of them every day. Will definitely use her again the next time I have to leave my fur kids behind for a little bit.”

“Our pups Gracie and Kai had the pleasure of Jayla’s care this weekend. They loved her and it showed them and us that Jayla is a kind, exemplary and loving dog sitter. She was beyond great…exceptional. We received many quality photos of them through their stay in Virginia. We will be on the lookout for opportunities to have her watch them the next time we are visiting family in Richmond. Thank you Jayla for giving us peace of mind in knowing our girls were in great hands!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Red Lane
I can't say enough great things about both of my pups experience w/ Paula. I was so nervous leaving my Jack w/ anyone, as he is quite the bundle of energy. My older sweet girl (Shephard mix) can be timid and nervous, especially around other dogs. They both took to Paula instantly and came home safe, smiling, and exhausted from all the exercise they had between Paula's backyard setup and their pack of playmates. Paula is a great communicator, and sent plenty of pictures and updates so that I never had to worry about how they were doing. This stay allowed me to travel to my daughter on very short notice, and I will be reaching out to Paula first for any travel or boarding needs in the future.

She was absolutely awesome! Communication was excellent from start to finish, and she kept me updated with frequent check-ins and lots of pictures, which really put my mind at ease. It was clear my dog was happy and well cared for the entire time. I would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive dog sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Red Lane home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Red Lane.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Red Lane sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
