“Matthew & Lucky are the best! They have always taken great care of my sweet Bailey. She has stayed with them several times & has always had the best time playing with her friends 🐾 Daily photos & updates are provided as well. I definitely recommend booking with them & look forward to bringing Bailey back soon!”

“PC and Will were a dream to work with. I was concerned that our pup (who has never been around cats) might not do well with cats. They suggested we do a meet n greet. That meeting went well even with the cat! Their dog Ivy and our Cooper enjoyed running circles in their large back yard.”

“Outstanding in every way!! Bailey (our pup) loves going there & always comes home happy & well cared for! This is our 2nd time using Josephine to dog sit & we couldn't be more happy with the experience both times!!”

“Joy and her family took great care of our Bernedoodle and provided updates daily. They put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our vacation knowing she was in good hands!”

“I had zero hesitation leaving my babies with her, especially for boarding. They're so happy to be there! They get individual attention and look so happy in the daily photo updates.”

“Matt was absolutely amazing and so easy to work with. This was our first time spending a weekend away from Kappy, and Matt really put us at ease with constant updates and photos.”

“Sheri was amazing with my dog Zion! She watched him for 2 weeks while I was on vacation and consistently checked in with me and catered to my needs of transporting him and also his diet. She was diligent about feeding him the correct food and making sure he was happy and healthy. Highly recommend her!”

“Abby was super awesome. We did one overnight and our pup was well taken care of and was returned to us happy! She was really flexible on pick up and drop off times which is always helpful. We will definitely be coming back, thanks Abby!”

“Dawn was so sweet taking care of my puppy! It was my first time leaving him for an extended period of time and Dawn made the whole experience completely stress free! I got pictures and updates 3 times a day and it was evident that Willie was having a great time :) I can’t recommend Dawn highly enough!”

“Elizabeth provided excellent care for Maddie during her one week stay at her home. She even cleaned the crusties out of her eyes I’m sure her mom is happy to get her lap and tv chair back to herself. We will absolutely use her services again.”

“Cyndi was awesome! Kept both of our 100+ pounders and never flinched! They were so happy with her I thought they may not want to come home! We will definitely be booking another stay with Cyndi!”

“Paula was great with my Shih tzu Shaki! It was his first experience with being borded and Paula was loving and kind. He can be a little funny, but did great with her. Plus he enjoyed his walk and being pampered.”

“Hilary was wonderful with my pup and even set up a meet and greet prior to my stay to ensure he was comfortable in her home. She really eased my mind about having to leave him for the first time and made sure he was happy the whole time! She was also very understanding and accommodating when I had to end his stay sooner than expected due to him getting sick. She offered to care for him but I choose to have a friend come get him to take him to the vet instead just so he was with someone he knew. However, Hillary’s updates on his health during the time he was with her were thorough and helped keep me calm during this very stressful situation!”

About: It's pretty simple - I love dogs and I work from home. Having recently said goodbye to my own best boy, Gary (a squishy English bulldog mix), I can guarantee that I'll get as much happiness out of seeing your dog as your dog will hopefully get from seeing me! I understand how important it is to know your pet is comfortable in your absence. I will treat yours as my own and send you as many updates as you'd like! Some key skills that may come in handy: - Walking dogs with leash reactivity - Experience with senior pets and those with medical needs - Administering medications, injections, paw wraps, etc. I'm currently working from home full-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play and love on your pups! I'm available for boarding all day, every day and would be happy to have a four-legged coworker around :) I have a fenced yard to keep your fur baby safe while exploring and getting lots of sniffs! We also keep a clean and tidy home to ensure your pet is always safe. Of course, there may be times when I need to step out (I'm human after all!), but will be happy to abide by any requests you have. Things like bowls, leashes, light up collars, pet gates, and a crate can be made available.
About: I have cared for/worked with 1,000s of dogs over 10+ years across all breeds, ages, and behavioral issues. I managed a dog facility for several years, have worked in multiple other dog facilities. I have taken K9 CPR/First Aid and very knowledgeable on K9 behavior and physical well being. I have trained 100s of dogs in my lifetime. Your dog could not be in better hands. :) I stay home full time so your pet would have 100% of my time and attention! I can be flexible to you and your pets needs! I have very friendly dogs to keep your pup company! If your dog isn’t much of a playful type - that’s okay too! My dogs do not harass and have great social manners. I have a crate I can offer at your request and I am very experienced with dog safety and K9 cpr. When going on walks I ALWAYS check the dogs collar and leash before leaving the house to be sure everything is appropriately secure. I always make sure I watch any dogs before I open doors to be sure no one runs out! My experience with K9 behavior allows me to catch a bad thing before it happens!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 791 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Dorset. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
97% of sitters in Dorset can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Dorset home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Dorset.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Dorset sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
