About: I've had animals since I was a child and have taken care of them all of my adult life. I have personally fostered over 75 dogs through to their adoptions! I'm a trusted caregiver who can handle animals of all sizes, ages, abilities and temperaments! I love getting to know each animal's personality and how to best take care of them! With several dogs and a cat at home, I am always in pet care mode (and know how important it is to find a trusted sitter). Whether it is a drop-in or a boarding situation, I treat each pet like they are my own. (Also, our cat has his own "wing" of our home so he is not interacting with any visiting dogs.) We have two friendly, large dogs, Tennessee & Tucky who have been foster brothers to over 75 dogs of all sizes and ages. Having fostered so many dogs, I recognize that each animal is unique and I enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and how to best care for them. Whether the animals are in my house or their own, I will follow the owners' instructions and manage expectations so there are as few surprises as possible. I know how worrisome it can be to leave your pet(s) in the care of another, and I pride myself on making sure the animals are taken care of and enjoy themselves.

I came up to North Carolina to spend the summer in the cooler weather. Being by myself with a senior dog meant that I would have to constantly care for him. I decided to look for somebody that I could trust that was loving and caring and had dog whisperer vibes, especially when it comes to senior dogs. I am lucky to have met Jenny. From the moment of our meet and greet , Shemp , who is usually a high anxiety dog was calm and happy. She updated me with pictures, walked him and gave me the peace of mind to know that my dog will be well cared for, which he was. I will definitely be using Jenny again and would recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect person to care for their pets.

About: I have had, rescued, and taken care of a wide variety of dogs from smaller malti-poos to a Dane who had been living on the street, was skin and bones, and ended up 188 lbs. Currently I have Pippa, a 7-year-old Labrador who is allergic to chicken, so I make part of her food. I am home most of the time, except when I host overly-complex board games at the Hickory Library or the Highland Rec Center -- and those sessions are at most 3 hours long. I am home most days, except when I am hosting 3-hour board games at the local library and rec center. Otherwise, I take care of our house and rental properties. I have a large fenced yard -- especially-so since my house sits along North Center Street. I also use carabiners to make sure that gates are locked.

Papito loves spending time with Lawrence and Gabby. They have calm, positive energy and he always comes back happy. He's pretty headstrong and very high energy and it always feels like Lawrence and Gabby truly enjoy and appreciate him, which makes it easy not to worry about leaving him for a night or weekend. Plus they always send great artistic-quality pics of his time with them. We feel lucky to have found them.

About: What sets me apart is my ability to take pet care seriously without taking myself too seriously. I’m patient, observant, calm, and respectful of routines. I’m especially great with independent pets, seniors, shy animals, and anyone who needs a gentle, steady presence rather than chaos. I’m naturally nurturing, detail-oriented, and calm. I believe animals deserve consistency, patience, and kindness. I’m the type of person who talks to pets like they understand (because… they do), celebrates small wins like a voluntary cuddle, and never rushes trust. I take pride in being reliable, warm, and easy to work with. Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine. I plan my schedule intentionally, allowing time for feedings, check-ins, play, and quiet companionship. I’m consistent, punctual, and flexible, and I never treat pet care like an afterthought. Its something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize. I treat every home and pet with respect and care. I follow instructions closely, double-check doors and routines, and keep environments calm and secure. I prioritize cleanliness, safety, and your pet’s comfort at all times. Trust matters to me! Both yours and your pet’s and I work to earn it every visit.

Jasmine took wonderful care of our dog during several daytime visits. She is highly knowledgeable about dogs, especially those with separation anxiety, and she knows exactly how to handle sensitive situations with calm confidence. Her communication is clear, consistent, and straightforward. She was also extremely accommodating, making sure we felt comfortable and reassured every step of the way. It was clear that our dog was in capable, caring hands. I highly recommend her for both pet sitting and training.

Sherrie was so sweet to my young dog! I dropped my dog, Rosie, off for doggy daycare while I went to work. I picked her up around 4pm and she was exhausted! Sherrie has a great outdoor space with a huge yard and kept me updated with pictures of her playing fetch with my dog all day! She was a phenomenal Rover!

About: Taking care of pets has always been my utmost passion! I was an elementary school teacher in BROWARD county for over 25 years. In 2020, I made the difficult decision to take an early retirement from teaching in an effort to pursue my life long passion and goal... caring for pets in a loving, nurturing and trusting manner. Over the years, I have rescued several dogs, many of which had medical concerns that required me to attain proper medication administering (including syringe injections and overall health care). I am available to love and care for your pet/s when my services are needed. I cater to you and your pet’s most convenient needs. I am available to stay in your home or mine. If your needs don’t include overnight stays, I am gladly available to see your pets for feeding, walking and play times. I’m very flexible and am here to meet your needs. Hope to meet you and your fur babies in the near future! I have 2 dogs of my own that are great with other dogs. I enjoy walking, exercising and playtime daily and often. Love to spoil all dogs! (And cats too! 🐾)

About: Because I work remotely, pets are rarely left alone for long periods of time. I have hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages and energy levels... from a senior dog who became blind and deaf, which taught me patience and gentle, consistent care, to my current puppy, where I focus on training, routine, exercise, and positive reinforcement for high-energy needs. I also have two cats with very different personalities, so I am very attentive to body language and always respect each pet’s comfort level, allowing them to warm up at their own pace. I work remotely and am home throughout the day. This allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, regular walks, playtime, and plenty of companionship without dogs being left alone for long periods. My mornings usually start with feeding and a walk or outdoor time. Throughout the day, I schedule additional walks, play sessions, and enrichment based on each dog’s energy level and needs. Because I’m home, I can easily adjust my schedule for puppies, senior dogs, or dogs who need extra attention or routine. I make sure routines stay consistent from day to day so dogs feel comfortable, secure, and at home. Dog care isn’t something I squeeze into my schedule—it’s part of my everyday life. My goal is always to provide a safe, attentive, and loving environment where dogs feel happy and well cared for. I take safety, trust, and comfort very seriously and always care for pets as if they were my own. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine while providing a calm, secure environment. In my home, pets are closely supervised and never left unattended for long periods of time. Because I work remotely, I’m able to be present throughout the day to monitor behavior, provide regular potty breaks, walks, and attention, and ensure pets are comfortable and relaxed. I keep my space clean, pet-friendly, and free of hazards, and I’m careful to follow any household rules provided by owners. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all care instructions closely. I make sure doors and gates are secure, food and medications are given as directed, and pets receive the level of interaction and exercise they’re used to. I’m also attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, or energy and communicate updates promptly. My goal is always to create a safe, low-stress environment where pets feel secure and owners feel confident their pets are in good hands.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Propst Crossroads commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 335 sitters in Propst Crossroads, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
