My dog is old, blind and deaf, so I do worry when I go on vacation. If I am not near, he gets very anxious. And it is hard for him to navigate a new place. But after our meet and greet, my own anxiety began to leave. Rachel and Donald sent more than one daily update with pictures. For once, I was not in a hurry to get back home! When I picked him up, he acted like he would have been fine to stay longer. I could tell they loved on and cared for my dog as well as I do. I'm a trusted caregiver who can handle animals of all sizes, ages, abilities and temperaments! I love getting to know each animal's personality and how to best take care of them! I have responsibilities Tuesday- Friday from noon- 1:00 however I’m available before or after. Ideally, I am looking for regular clients that consistently need someone to hang out with their fur babies. I would meet you and your fur baby, and get a lay of the land. If you need me to feed them, water them, give treats, I would just need to know where to access them. For cats, if you need me to clean the litter box, I would just need to know where the bags, & scooper are. Also where you’d like the waste disposed.

With several dogs and a cat at home, I am always in pet care mode (and know how important it is to find a trusted sitter). Whether it is a drop-in or a boarding situation, I treat each pet like they are my own. (Also, our cat has his own "wing" of our home so he is not interacting with any visiting dogs.) We have two friendly, large dogs, Tennessee & Tucky who have been foster brothers to over 75 dogs of all sizes and ages. Having fostered so many dogs, I recognize that each animal is unique and I enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and how to best care for them. Whether the animals are in my house or their own, I will follow the owners' instructions and manage expectations so there are as few surprises as possible. About: My mom got me my first dog when I was 10 years old, and it was from then on that I promised to take care of him the best way I knew how. I have experience administering medication (in pill form, liquid, and gel) to both dogs and cats, even when they don’t want to take it. I have also personally trained my dog to sit, lie down, high five, and on accident, I taught him to get up on his hind legs and beg with his front paws. If there is any special care that your animal needs, I would be more than happy to quickly and efficiently learn and adapt to care for your animal the way they deserve. I am currently job searching, so I will be free almost every weekday with exception for surprise obligations that my family often come to me with. I am not available on the weekends, including friday for various extraneous responsibilities. When I first meet an animal, I get down to their level and extend my hand just enough to offer it as an option for them to investigate, but not enough to shove it it their face. I wait until the dog or cat engages with me before I try to pet them on my own to ensure that they feel comfortable and safe. If your animal has separation anxiety, I would be more than happy to comfort them with calming words and gentle hands for pets and snuggles. I will only feed or give your animal a treat if I am told to do so or given the okay beforehand as I do not want to over feed them or give them a treat you have bought without consent.

Both of our dogs have been trained since puppies the basics as well as advanced tricks such as “tell me a secret.” I would be willing to work with your dog on any tricks. Your pup will be in great hands! My dogs are very friendly and full of energy, they love meeting other dogs! I currently work 8am-5pm. I wake up with the dogs in the morning to let them out, play and feed them. They are crate trained during the day. I come home on lunch from 12-1 and return home at 5pm. Our pets are always watched over and never left unattended without supervision for long periods of times. There is nothing that would harm the animals such as chocolate in reach of them. We do have a fenced in yard and use leashes when going on a walk. I always have a pet first aid kit handy incase of any accidents and would be reliable to give any pet medications on a set schedule.
