About: Hi! My name is Kristen and I've been a true animal lover my whole life. I've grown up having animals and I have a deep love for anything furry. I'm a happily married, stay at home mom to a toddler. We recently lost our special needs senior pup of 14 years. We miss him so very much. He was my everything. I truly understand loving your pet like a child and will treat them as such. I have 7 years of experience in veterinary medicine and know how to handle most pet emergencies calmly. References are available. I am looking to start pet care full time, as animals are my passion. I have open availability but can only work with dogs, as I'm allergic to cats. I can do walks, playtime, overnight boarding in my home, or day care. Senior pets are my specialty! I am looking to transition into full time pet care, as I now have the time as a stay at home mom! I am able to provide walks several times a day, and all day attention & love. We live in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood, where I can walk your pet several times a day. Our senior dog recently passed away and we miss having a pet in the home tremendously, but we aren’t ready to welcome a new personal pet just yet. Animals are welcome to sleep on furniture in my home and cuddle like I would my own animal. My home is their home while they’re with us. We have a 14 month old son, so your pet needs to be comfortable around children. He is good about not touching, but he is a typical toddler and makes noise throughout the day.

About: I am a stay at home mom so I am currently only weekends and select evenings. Thank you and know your pet will be in good hands 🤗 I am available most evenings anytime after 6 from Monday to Friday, and anytime most weekends. I have small children and if I am able to bring them with me I can be available more. I always keep my own dog on a leash or a line when outside. I will respect whatever the client sets as the standard for their own fur baby!

She did everything we asked and more to accommodate Rosie’s needs and her little quirks. She was very quick to respond, asked great questions about Rosie’s care, and was very informative during her visit. I couldn’t recommend Becky enough!!!”

About: Hello! I’m Natalie and I would love to be the sitter you choose for your pets! My experience ranges across all breeds of dogs from Pitties to Chihuahuas, cats, rabbits, rats, reptiles, fish and everything in between!. I’ve taken care of multiple dogs at once and it is not a challenge for me. I am a professional veterinary assistant and have been practicing for over 5 years! I have been trained in giving injections like insulin and am able to medicate properly. I am also CPR & First Aid certified for dogs & cats. The treatment of an animal determines their personality and the way they view people. My goal is to make sure every animal is taken care of and treated the way I would treat my own and that is with the utmost affection and patience. I look forward to working with you and your four-legged, two-legged and no-legged friend(s)! Just reach out for specific costs not applicable to just dogs and cats! :) I have a part time job other than this, so all walks and drop in visits will have to be scheduled around that. However, I look forward to fitting your pets into my schedule! I will always care for a client’s pet(s) as if they were my own. Any exercise and playtime needed I can offer. As a veterinary assistant, I understand how important it is for your pets to have a great vacation, just like you may be!

About: Some people call me the dog whisperer, but I just speak a dogs language. I love dogs, even more than most humans. I’m not afraid to administer medications or take pups to the vet or groomer. I’m a stay at home mom, so I’m pretty much available all day long. I own two large dogs and one small dog. And they all live in harmony with my children. Both my sons love animals almost as much as I do! If we had the land, I’d open a rescue and adoption center. Dogs of all sizes enjoy stopping here on their walks because they know I always have treats waiting. We know most of our furry neighbors better than the humans! We must love dogs or are crazy! I’m currently at home, but we do have children, and live an active and busy lifestyle do to their sports. I try to be as flexible as possible. I have a huge fenced in yard and my dogs love having friends over! We do require crates for sleeping or anytime we are not home, so if your dog is not crate trained, this probably isn’t the home for you.

About: I LOVE dogs and cats! Growing up, my family always had big dogs and fluffy cats around the house; so throughout my life I have gained experience caring for puppies and kittens all the way up to seniors. I adore dogs of all sizes, but big dogs will always have a special place in my heart. We owned a Rottie/Lab mix, a Great Dane, an English Mastiff, Boxer, and various Doodle breeds. We also had 3 Ragdoll cats. I currently have 3 Domestic Short and Long haired cats of my own with my fiancé and I love them dearly; but I really miss having a dog around the house. Helping people care for pets on here seemed like the perfect way to help me hang with pups! I frequently assist my friends and family with pet sitting, dog walking, and caring for their animals while they are away. Outside of animals, I work for The Department of State as a Legal Assistant and sit for 8 hours a day at a desk. Taking a dog on a nice walk or having a play session with pets sounds like a very pleasant way for me spend my time after sitting in an office all day. I also love to read, cook/bake, do yoga, play video games, and play softball on my women’s community team! I’m currently working a full time office job from 7:30am to 4:00pm, so I can be available on weekdays any time after 4:30pm or early in the morning . I can be available anytime on weekends with enough notice to plan. As much as I would love to help people board their pets, I can’t given the size of my apartment. My home is just for me and my cats :)

“Kayla noticed that one of my cats was struggling to finish their food during her visits, which resulted in my other cat trying to eat it. Her response to this dilemma was truly above and beyond: Kayla would hide the leftover food and make a second trip over later in the day (even though only one daily visit was requested) to make sure my cat ate the remaining food and didn't go hungry!”

Karrington is amazing! He came over earlier this week for a meet and great and my pups took to him right away. What I noticed most in that meet and great was that even though I was chatting his ear off about dog things - he always diverted his attention to my dogs to play and warm up to him in the process! Both my dogs showed immediately love towards him — I especially noticed how much Merika (my male dog) took to him!! Highly recommend! FAQs for Pet Sitting - Progress

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Pet Sitting in Progress is $17 per visit as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $13 and $28 per visit. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 1,518 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Progress. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Progress. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
