âGreat first experience with Rover. Jordan took her last minute early in the morning and allowed me to pick her up late in evening. We really appreciated the flexibility and it appears Nylah was well taken care of and had a good time. Thank you ?â

âWe can't recommend Julia highly enough! She is caring, considerate and responsive. Our rescue dog has enjoyed doggy day care and weekly walks with her. We appreciate the peace of mind we have leaving our sweet friend in Julia's care.â

âShannon and her family were incredible with our pup. She came home happy and tired each day. We felt very comfortable leaving Lola with them and we got regular updates. Her kids and Lola became the best of friends! Thank you so much again for caring for her!â

About: Got a cavalier when kids left 20 years ago and have been in love with and taken care of pups for family and friends ever since! I work part time as a sub at a local school lunchroom. Consequently, I have a good deal of time to do what I enjoy most, spending time with and caring for pups!! (and on occasion, cats!) I live in a lovely neighborhood with a nice balance of open space and paths for walks. My husband (also a dog lover) and I have a fenced yard and pup bowls and leashes and toys and even a small crate (from Harley) if your pup feels better taking a nap in it! (and he fits!)
âBernice was so great and accommodating to my pup. She accepted a last minute day care booking 2 days in a row while my wife got our new house together. I will definitely be using her again.â

âJacob was amazing! Koal took to Jacob and his family very well and I could tell he was a happy boy ? I was pleased how he sent photos and updates of him. Will be utilizing his services again and again â¤ď¸â

About: Your sweeties are in caring hands đ â Experience with pets of all ages & personalities. â Work from home: Attentive to strict care plan. â Happy to assist with training/manners đž. As a pet owner of 35 years and a life-long animal lover, Iâve cared for my own puppies, kittens, and elderly pets over the years. Their quirky personalities have brought nothing but joy to our home! Iâve also cared for exotic littles such as snakes, bearded dragons, hamsters, gerbils, chameleons, ferrets, parakeets, Sun Conure Parrots and farm animals (chickens, pigs, horses, âfarm sittingâ)! Donât hesitate to ask if you need additional help. We have 2 dogs of our own: One loves to socialize and play with our guests, while the other usually searches for the sunniest window in the house, to nap until the next potty/treat break. Working from home allows me to be attentive to strict potty/medication and walk/play schedules (if your pet is in need of a regimented care plan). I offer drop-in play dates, walks, back-yard potty/play dates and feeding/litter changes, based upon your instruction. Iâm also able to host your pets in my home, if you need a sitter. Before booking boarding services with new clients, I request a meet & greet, so that I can get to know everyone and have a clear understanding of your petâs personality and needs đ!
âAngela was super nice and welcomed Benny in like her own. He seemed super happy when I picked him up! He usually gets anxiety when he is separated from me and tends to act out the rest of the day, but he has been his normal self all day since I picked him up from her! She took him for multiple walks and let him get lots of energy out! 5 stars and I will definitely be using Angela again!â

About: I have had a lot of experience since my teens and I continue to have a constant bond with animals. My newest edition is a Bern doodle. I have a wonderful home for your fur babies and sometimes watch my fur grandbabies also . So they can have interaction with them and me . I can basically offer services of your needs just let me know what your baby loves and I can agree to almost agree with anything to make them happy and comfortable.
About: Dogs have always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Currently, I care for two of my ownâSparky, my sweet 13-year-old Bichon Frise, and Shelby, my playful 1-year-old Miniature Goldendoodle. Having both a senior dog and a young, energetic pup has given me a wide range of hands-on experience, from managing health needs and gentle senior care to keeping up with puppy energy, training, and teething phases. In the past, I also cared for an American Pitbull Terrier for 5 years, and over the years Iâve looked after many dogs for friends, neighbors, and family members. Some of the breeds Iâve worked with include Chihuahuas, Beagles, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians, and a variety of lovable mixes. Every dog is unique, and I truly enjoy getting to know each oneâs personality and quirks. Whether theyâre shy or outgoing, young or elderly, Iâm patient, gentle, and always happy to provide the care and attention they deserve. Iâm usually available Monday through Friday, which means I have plenty of time throughout the day to walk, play with, and care for your pup. Whether they need a midday stroll, some company while youâre away, or just a little extra love and attention, Iâm happy to be there for them. Iâm home often, so Iâm able to keep a close eye on the dogs and make sure theyâre always safe and cared for. While my yard is open and unfenced, I never leave dogs outside unattendedâtheyâre always on a leash and supervised, with access to a sunny, enclosed sunroom for extra comfort. For smaller dogs, I have a crate available if preferred by the owner, and Iâm also able to provide transport in case of a vet emergency. My home is stocked with cozy blankets and toys that are always available for dogs to borrow and enjoy. Located in a quiet, beautiful area, the home offers plenty of space to explore, bird- and squirrel-watching opportunities, and nearby parks for peaceful outings. The spacious living room and multiple rooms allow for safe separation if needed, ensuring every dog feels comfortable. Most of all, your pup will enjoy peace, safety, and lots of love while in my care.

âMichelle was great! She was more than willing to accommodate last minute and very thorough throughout the day with how my dogs were doing. She has a perfect back room that is calm and quiet for pups!â

About: I enjoy having dogs, and started using this website when I went out of town. Because of this, I know the high standard of care I expect from my sitter, and what you should expect too. I will take the time and care you would for your own dog. I'll give them snuggles, playtime, and lots of outside time depending on the crazy weather we have here of course. Myself and my doggy friends love to take walks, play tug-of-war, fetch and other games your dog enjoys or might enjoy. If your dog comes to our house we have a fully enclosed backyard. It is a great big yard enough to play fetch with a few dogs at the same time. Some just like to sun bathe and watch everyone else run around. Your dogs will have so much fun, and will be well loved while they are here. When my doggie friends come back for a visit the owners tell me the dogs are excited when they turn down my street. I have a Yorkie named Jack, and 3 mini Bernedoodles named Elenor, Dahlia, and Franklin. I am not taking unneutered or unspayed dogs at this time. I have lots of available hours to spend with your pets. My schedule is consistent usually, but fairly open. In the past, I was walking dogs. Not sure if I am going to start doing that or not. I have a fenced in yard and 4 dogs to keep your dog company. We can play in the yard or hang out in the house. I have lots of toys and balls.

Jordan was great, despite Nala being at daycare for the first time! No issues and she was attentive to sending pics and text when we asked her about Nalaâs wellbeing. Nala has some anxiety and I felt Jordan dealt with that well. Overall, I would rebook her again!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your petâwhether thatâs early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Portage commute.
If your schedule changes, itâs best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
