“Megan is a kind considerate care giver. Highly articulate and professional. She was able to become quick friends with our very shy cat and truth be told our cat was probably a bit sad when we returned and Megan didn’t visit. I highly recommend and trust Megan.”

“Jessica took great care of Roxy while we were away. She was loving and caring. Jessica sent photos everyday and spent time doing Roxys 2 favorite things. Treats and brushes. I will be booking Jessica next time we go out of town!”

About: 20+ years of pet care experience. Growing up we had 4 dogs , 6 cats and a whole array of other critters. When it comes to pet sitting, drop by visits or just a quick walk, I’m your guy! I have a full time job that I work Tuesday-Friday 8-6. Im currently available Mondays, Friday evenings, Saturdays & Sundays. Holidays vary since I may be out of town I have two cats myself so ensuring a safe, clean environment is number 1 on my list. If there’s no mess or hazard, I’d ensure all essentials are either available or given at time specified. For example feeding and or medication time, along with kibble/ water restock. If there’s a list, follow the list lol
“Anna and her daughter, Sam, took great care of our two cats. We were able to have a relaxing vacation knowing that our family members back home were well taken care of! Strongly recommend contacting Anna if you're looking for a great pet sitter 😊”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with 18+ years of experience owning pets and caring for pets for family, friends, and others. I understand how much our pets mean to us; they’re family, and I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in loving, responsible hands while you’re away. As a mom of five, I’m naturally attentive, dependable, patient, and used to caring for others and managing different needs and personalities. I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and temperaments, and I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, medication reminders, feeding on a specific schedule, or simply some company while you’re gone, I’ll give them the individual attention they deserve. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. My goal is for your pet to feel loved, comfortable, and at home, not like they’re simply being boarded or checked on. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I would want someone to give mine. 🐾❤️ As a stay-at-home mom with a very flexible schedule, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have the flexibility to accommodate walks, drop-ins, feeding schedules, playtime, and other petcare needs throughout the day. I’m able to work around each pet’s individual routine rather than trying to fit them into a rigid schedule. My flexible availability allows me to give pets plenty of attention, companionship, and care while their families are away. Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets. As a mom of both furry and humans, I’m very attentive to my surroundings and understand the importance of keeping animals in a secure, supervised environment. In my home, I provide a clean, comfortable space with plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow their pet’s normal routine and care instructions closely. I’m careful about doors, gates, leashes, food, medications, and anything else that could pose a risk. I’ll also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.

“Kelsey was great! She was so communicative and go with the flow, as we had a very last minute trip / booking, and, we’re completely new to the area. Glad I was able to find her and have peace of mind while I was away for the day.”

“Lorianne did a great job taking care of our cat, Winnie, while we were away for 5 days. Winnie can be anxious, but Lorianne was patient with Winnie. By day 2, Winnie was rubbing on her. Lorianne sent daily pictures and updates. Highly recommend!”
“My cat and I are so happy to have Ekizabeth for drop in visit. Elizabeth os reliable, an excellent communicator. And responsible and calm. I would recommend her highly. She is compassionate and caring even to my cranky cat. She has earned our trust.”

About: I’ve trained and cared for a dog for 8 years, dealt with reactivity issues, emergencies and giving medicine daily for dry eyes, so I am well equipped for whatever you need. I’m available M-F from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, although I can be flexible in certain instances if needed. I work M-F 9 am-5 pm as a science and policy analyst for a local nonprofit. Pets are always given space and respect, their food, water, medicine and play needs are very important and I will always make sure your pet is happy.
About: I’ve been around dogs and animals for as long as I can remember. I was always the kid who would choose playing with the dogs over playing with the other children! When I was 13, my family got a Westie named Millie, who was a huge part of my life until I left home at 18. I also owned horses throughout my teenage years, so caring for animals has always been something that comes naturally to me. In my 20s, I worked at a summer camp as the Ranch Director, where I was responsible for caring for the animals and managing staff on a farm with 14 horses, pigs, alpacas, sheep, rabbits, and chicks. That experience gave me a lot of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds and taught me the importance of being attentive, responsible, and consistent when caring for them. I’ve been wanting a dog of my own for years, but I haven’t quite taken the plunge yet! So, for now, I absolutely love getting my dog fix by taking care of other people’s pups. I regularly cared for my sister-in-law’s two little black rescue dogs, who were both mixed breeds. I absolutely loved spending time with them, and they became very special to me before sadly passing away a couple of years ago. I’m also always the first person my friends call when they need someone to watch their dogs, and I genuinely enjoy having them around. I have a 4-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son, and they both LOVE dogs. They are gentle, respectful, and very affectionate with animals, and they love helping to care for them. Some of my previous pet-sitting clients have even commented on how much they appreciated the extra love and attention their dogs received from my kids! I’m happy to provide references from multiple people, including both professional clients and friends whose pets I’ve cared for. Most importantly, I will treat your dog like they are part of our family while they’re with us—with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care. I currently work during the week but am generally available on weekends and evenings. I love being active and outdoors and would love to take your dog with me! Due to where I live right now I can only come to your home to care for your pets, and am happy to stay over or just come for occasional feeds and play!
About: Owned and taken care of animals since I was little. Cats, dogs, other mammals/reptiles. Great with dogs no matter the energy or temperament, I can get them to feel comfortable. Besides caring for my son after school and summer camps, I have free time most of the day to do any checks or walks as long as it's not overnight/late night. I can care for them with provided toys/food/area or I am capable of taking them on walks if they need time out farther from the house. I know older dogs may not want to play fetch but still need to walk around the block a bit. Also cleaning if the owner has the area and supplies is no issue, I love giving dogs a bath.
“Meryl is amazing!!! My cat is very particular, but Tux absolutely loved her. She took special care with my old girl "pup" Chloe as well. She was very attentive, and communicated every step of the way and made each drop in visit a breeze and a treat for my cat and doggo. Meryl's priority is safety wrapped up in kindess. She's perfect for the job, you won't be disappointed.”
“Glenn is FAB! Our pups love him - and I’m pretty sure Glenn has a sweet spot for the pups. I trust him in our home and with our pups. No way we would have survived puppyhood without his help.”

About: I’ve primarily cared for cats and am very comfortable with their routines, temperaments, and special needs. I also have experience with dogs and enjoy walks and playtime. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and treat every pet like my own. I work full time as an elementary school teacher. I’m available weekdays after 3 PM and anytime on weekends. I have full availability during school breaks and holidays. I provide a safe, calm, and clean environment for all pets in my care. I’m attentive to their needs, follow routines closely, and make sure they feel comfortable and loved. I communicate regularly so owners can feel confident and at ease while they’re away.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Port Salerno
I had no experience with hiring a sitter for my pets, so faced with a medical emergency on the recommendation of my daughter I used the Rover app. I cannot stress enough how pleased I was with Elizabeth’s drop-in visits with my dog and 2 cats. She was punctual, communicated regularly, and sent pictures of them. I recommend her highly and would definitely hire her again. Five stars plus!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
