“Ariana is very agreeable, hard working and a great communicator. She spent extra time to get Alister to accept her and soon he was snuggling with her. She was also great with storm preps so the house stayed warm with a power outage. Thanks, Ariana!”

“Thank you SO MUCH! Amber has been nothing short of amazing. I never had to worry at all about my kitties. She went above and beyond and remembered things my cats liked. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her!”

“Danielle Z. took fantastic care of our two cats. I was worried about the youngest who we recently adopted from an animal shelter and was quite shy but he warmed right up to her! Danielle was kind and prompt. I loved seeing the pictures she sent, too. Thanks again Danielle!”

“Taylor was amazing with my anxious little one. She communicated with me and kept me updated on my pups status and wellbeing - which helped me relax and enjoy my outing. Highly recommend!”

About: I had a family dog for a while and am considering adopting a pet soon. Unfortunately, my schedule and life don't allow me to have a dog of my own at the moment, but I would love to spend time with your pups and pets. I work from home on M/W/F so have flexibility on these days to check in on your pets and go for walks. I'm also available on weekends. I do have a full-time job and use Rover as a way to spend time with furry friends and get outside - because it's fun for me and I don't use this as primary income I can offer affordable rates and hopefully a great time for your pup or other furry friend. That said, my availability fluctuates a bit depending on my schedule, but I do my best to keep my calendar updated! I'm also typically not available on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Unfortunately, I'm not able to take care of pets in my own home. I'm flexible with taking care of pets in your home. I'm happy to do drop in visits, stay with your pet during the day, or go for 15-20 minute walks throughout the work day, with a longer morning and evening walk. I love being outside and I love furry friends and am happy to keep you updated throughout the day so you know your pet is safe and healthy.
“I was so happy to have Ashley come and walk our dog, Lilo - she came twice a day. She also came over to meet us before we left for our trip, so we could show her around and meet her - it made us feel much better that we had met the person who would be in our house. Things went very smoothly and I would definitely love to have her help again. Highly recommended!”

“Jennifer was amazing! She went above and beyond for our pup and did exactly what we asked. It was nice knowing our dog was in good hands with Jennifer. We’d happily hire her again.”

About: I’ve lived with animals my entire life. I’ve cared for my childhood pets (4 dogs & 1 cat) throughout my childhood. I have pet sat for dogs as big as a mastiff and a small as a teacup chihuahua. I am loving, attentive, and genuinely enjoy the time I get to spend with animals. I promise to cherish your sweet friend as if they were my own! I work from home most days, so your pet will rarely be home alone. When I am not working, I will take your pet on an adventure around the neighborhood or if they are comfortable with cars, and with your permission, we will go walking on a pet friendly trail! I love to give small treats to animals in exchange for good behavior. If a dog is allowed to cuddle in a bed or couch, I will make sure there’s room for them. If your pet is crate trained, I have room to make sure they’re in a comfortable location. Cats will have plenty of spaces to explore. Your sweet pet will experience many pets and words of praise in my home; there will be plenty of conversations between your pet and I. I do not have my own pet, but I live vicariously through the enjoyment of spending time with yours!
“Izzy was professional, courteous and great with our three dogs. She was easy to work with and took excellent care of our pups. One of our dogs requires a muzzle when playing with the other, and Izzy had no issues making sure our old guy was muzzled up so the dogs could socialize. I highly recommend her services!”

“Corrine was absolutely wonderful. We were In a jam and we helped us out on short notice. She was responsive, kind, very polite, and gentle with our kitties, making sure to be extra gentle with the shy one. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!! Thank you!!♡♡”

“Karisma brings experience coupled with a love of animals to be the perfect pet sitter! Her punctuality is outstanding, and it's obvious she loves this work. I support her career goals, and am extremely grateful that my schedule and hers were a fine match.”

About: Don't let my babyface fool you. I have over 10 years of experience in nearly all pet care industries: boarding/daycare, grooming, and training. I spent about 2 of those years at a dog training school specializing in "ill behaved" dogs. No animal is too much or scary for me- I'll love them all like they're my own pet ♥️ Currently just an unemployed college student (classes are 9am-4pm, Tues-Friday) so I have all the time in the world to help you with your pets. Currently don't have a car though so my ability to get to you is dependent on the bus schedule and routes. If you're more than a 30 min walk away from a bus route, $20 inconvenience fee will apply. I am quite good at following whatever instructions you leave behind and making your pet feel as comfortable with your absence as is possible. I'm familiar with a variety of training techniques which help me to individualize my interaction with your unique pet.

“Stacy did a really great job. Our dogs can be a handful but they all seemed very happy and content when we got home. We will definitely ask her back if our schedules match up!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Port Angeles
This was my first time using Rover so I was a bit nervous to leave my kittens alone. Taylor came over to meet Ollie, Andy, and I a couple of days before I left and I knew the boys would be in great hands. She kept me updated throughout my trip away. She also made sure to send me pics and even offered to water my plants. She’s the best and I can’t recommend her enough!

The last time I was this happy with a cat sitter was over five years ago. I am happy to have found Corbin on Rover. He is personable, communicative, inquisitive, a genuinely great man, fantastic with animals and my cats freaking love him. Corbin is amazeballz and I’d recommend him. Repeatedly.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
