About: I've taken care of family pets for as long as I can remember and more recently, adopted a retired racing greyhound in 2016. My girl Celty happens to be a high-needs pup, requiring special consideration when it comes to socializing, diet, and exercise. She has taught me over the past 10 years to be in tune with animal body language and physical presentation of potential medical issues. With this experience and by taking special note of pet owner instruction, I'm confident I can provide the best care for your pet. I work from home and have my own vehicle so I'm ready and willing to meet you where and when I'm needed! I highly prefer not to work evenings but I'm free early morning until afternoon. I am happy to host your pet in my home if needed. When possible, I prefer to provide care inside your home and am always sure to follow all requested safety guidelines. I'm also happy to spend time playing and socializing with your pet, on top of the standard wellness checks.
About: I'm a life-long cat/dog owner. I've cared for senior pets with special needs and housed foster puppies. I communicate well with and understand most dogs and cats. My schedule is flexible. My full name is Mary Kate and I go by Kate. I can book appointments between 9AM - 9PM, seven days a week. Pet care fits into my daily schedule easily as I otherwise work remotely from home. I follow clients' written instructions on feeding, schedule, walks, and other expectations. During our in-person meetings we can confirm and make changes. These instructions create the baseline for everything else.
About: I have grown up with dogs my whole life and have been relied on to take care of dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors. I love taking them on adventures and I have some grooming experience. I love pets and always put them first; I just moved to Charlottesville with my dog and he’s been my absolute priority. I have pretty generous gaps in my day to care for pets. I have my own dog as well and am happy to do walks with both dogs! He’s very friendly and mellow. I will always respect a pets space. If in my home, the pet will have its own space to make its own. I want pets to feel happy and taken care of, and I will walk and play with your pup or cat happily! If a dog is reactive or has some disability, I have experience dealing with these issues and will adjust my care accordingly.
“Oh my goodness, Kathryn is the simply the best!!! I love my summers on Nantucket but it can be necessary to leave the island briefly at times. And it’s not always easy or desirable to uproot my dogs. My 2 little Maltese dogs (ages 4 and 11) just loved her. One is skittish and one is a ‘senior’ who needs medication; both of them took to her right away and she was so comfortable and capable with their little quirks and needs. She did double duty as house-sitter and doggie care-giver, and I couldn’t be more pleased on both fronts! I came home to happy puppies and an immaculate home. It doesn’t get any better. ??❤️”
About: I love animals i have had dogs, cats, horses, chickens all my life. You will not find a more dedicated person than me. Your pets will get an abundance of snuggles from me. I am currently employed by the local animal hospital as a veterinary technician. I live with my wife, who's an occupational therapist at the human hopital( don't worry, she loves animals too), two daughters (9 and 12 years of age) and a Bernese mountain dog ( 5 years old) and two adopted kittens. It keeps me busy, but I can happily fill in playtime with another pet. I have a very gentle big dog, a family that loves pets and a fully fenced-in yard. We are mere steps from the dog park, the beach and the state forest, so plenty of opportunities for any kind of pet.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
