“James was great! We had to book last minute and he was happy to help. Xhiggy came back exhausted. His backyard is great and he also took X for a beach walk. Very attentive for our Girl. Thank you James.”

“It was our first time leaving Darby with anyone other than family but our worries were unfounded. Minerva was amazing, Darby had so much fun and was so well taken care of in Minerva's home. We will certainly continue to have Minerva help us out!”

“At first we were a little worried since this is my first time leaving our dogs with day care. They loved it! Sandra took good care of my dogs while we were away. She always updated me by sending messages and photos so I know they are in good hands. Thanks!”

“Sara was an excellent sitter and we will be booking again! Gunner had a great day playing with 2 other dogs and getting lots of attention and space to enjoy! Regular updates and easy to book last minute. Sara was a pleasure to deal with!”

“Five Stars! Bruce had an amazing stay with Andy and I will definitely be rebooking. Great attention to care and safety of Bruce, asked lots of important questions, and made sure Bruce had a lot of fun at the park and on walks.”

About: I spent 15 wonderful years raising my own dog, which taught me just how much trust it takes to leave your pup with someone new. I take care of every dog with the same patience, attention, and calm presence as I’d want my dog to be cared with. Your dog will feel safe, comfortable, well cared for. I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups ! I’m available for boarding on weekends and weekdays . I make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and part of the family while they’re with me. I try to maintain their regular routine, give them lots of calm attention, gentle care, and a peaceful space to relax.
“It’s been a pleasure doing business with Li. It was our first time using Rover and Li made it a very pleasing experience. He was great to deal with, sent us lovely pictures and videos of our Rosie and communication was excellent. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Li! Thank you again for your help and taking good care of Rosie.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a kid - big ones and small ones. In fact, I like them so much, that I made it my job. I have a Pomeranian girl myself and she is joy of my life. I like taking pups on long walks and spoil them with snacks. I used to shelter dogs when I lived in Vietnam Me and my husband are usually home, at least one of us. So it’s easy for us to take care of pets and take them out on walks. I take pets for walks, I give them belly rubs, snacks and play with them. They also can play with my dog. I feed them according to owner's preferences.
“Leaving our rescue dog Ziggy can be stressful because he gets nervous around new people and dogs, but Yumiko was amazing with him. From our first meet-and-greet, Yumiko was warm, calm, and asked all the right questions. While Ziggi stayed with her we got regular texts, photos, and video updates of Ziggy. We picked up a calm and happy dog. We are planning to hire Yumiko again!”

“They are warm, loving couple that has enormous backyard for the dogs running around and exploring. A lot of communication between us to make sure shimo feels comfortable at their home. I am very glad to be able to meet them and would repeat and recommend their services to anyone.”

“Really great experience with Avinash. Wolfy is super easy going and friendly, but as a border collie, he needs more physical activity than the average dog. Because of that, I’m pretty particular about who watches him and look for people who truly understand the needs of high-energy breeds. Wolfy came home calm and content. As his owner, I know when his needs have been met, and they definitely were. Avinash’s partner was very friendly, and I felt confident that Wolfy was in good hands. I’d happily book again and would recommend them to anyone looking for capable, well-rounded care for their dog, regardless of breed or energy level.”

“Oriana and her husband really love my little one, and she loves them too! It’s clear they give Emilia all the care and affection she needs. I’m so happy to have them looking after her :) they’re truly wonderful!”

About: Loving and caring family home in Steveston! My husband and I have been dog owners for the last 18 years to a wonderful pup who just recently passed away. We miss him dearly and are looking for a little furry love back in our home! We raised our dog for 18 years as well as have grown up with dogs our whole lives. Our home has a large, fully fenced yard with locking gate and we are a 5-minute walk from a park and dog-park. In case of emergencies we live 2 minutes from our family vet. Our 9 year-old son is full of energy for those pups looking to play and run or just chill and snuggle. He is very accustomed to being around dogs and is a true animal lover. Your dog will be walked twice a day and will never be left alone for more than 2 hours at a time. We are also happy to take your dog with us to the beach or on other outings if you are comfortable with that. The main care for your pet will be provided by myself as well as my husband Graeme. We can assure you that your pet will be loved and taken care of as if it were our own. What we require: - fully potty trained (unless a puppy) - ZERO aggression towards children - all food and medication schedules written out in detail - please dog’s own bed, leash and poop bags. I am at home all day, every day. Your pet will be with me full time. Twice daily walks provided with additional outside time in our backyard and lots of play and cuddles! We currently have no pets of our own and have a home with a large, fully fenced yard with high fence and locked gate. Dogs are welcome to sleep downstairs in our living room or with us in our room. Lots of love and pets for your family pooch.
“Nien was so great with our dog, Sgt Pepper! He can be a bit nervous meeting new people and he was instantly comfortable with her. She was very communicative and kept us updated with cute photos and videos throughout the day 🥰. We will definitely book with Nien again.”

About: ❥ We’re Tianna and Tyler, a loving couple from Richmond. We’re the kind of people who get ridiculously excited when a pet wants to play or decides it’s cuddle time 🐶 ❥ Animals have always been a huge part of our lives, and we’re happiest when we’re around them! Tianna grew up surrounded by dogs and has continued caring for friends’ pups as an adult, while Tyler was a proud cat daddy to his own kitty for over 17 years. ❥ Together we have hands-on experience with both dogs and cats, from everyday feeding + walks to keeping them entertained or just giving them company. We bring a very attentive and genuinely enthusiastic approach to pet care. We’re also happy to reinforce basic training, such as simple commands & habits already introduced by their owners. ❥ We absolutely adore the fun energy of playful youngsters just as much as the companionship of affectionate cuddle bugs, gentle seniors, and shy sweethearts! Getting to know each pet’s personality and discovering what makes them happy is one of our favourite parts of caring for them. We’re especially patient with those who need extra time to warm up, giving them the space to build trust naturally. ❥ We take the time to learn each pet’s routine and individual needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and at home with us. More than anything, we want every furry guest to feel like a cherished member of the family. Sharing those sweet everyday moments is what makes pet sitting so special to us! 🐾 ❥ We love welcoming furry companions into our everyday lives and making room in our days for their care! Tianna works from home when her schedule allows, and we share responsibilities so our little friends can enjoy plenty of attention and loving company. ❥ We know how reassuring a familiar routine can be when pets are spending time with someone new. Learning about their usual feeding times and favourite activities helps us plan their care around the rhythm they're used to! ❥ Our schedules are fairly flexible depending on our commitments, although pets may occasionally be on their own for around 1–3 hours when we're both out. We're always happy to chat about your pet's needs beforehand so we can make sure the arrangement feels right for everyone ❣️ ❥ Our pet-friendly Richmond apartment has no resident pets, and we primarily board cats and smaller dogs. Before confirming a stay, we like to make sure our space is a good fit for each furry guest. ❥ We’re happy to accommodate familiar beds or crates & discuss their usual sleeping arrangements beforehand. We only welcome up to two pets from the same household at a time, so your little ones won’t be sharing their stay with animals from another family. ❥ When caring for pets in their own homes, we treat your space with the same respect we’d want for ours. We carefully follow your household instructions and pay attention to doors + exits whenever we arrive or leave. If anything unexpected comes up, we’ll communicate promptly and keep you informed about your little one 💓
About: I've grown up with dogs, and had them my whole life. Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole. A home is not complete without an animal. I'm reliable, honest and punctual. I'm already a "dog mom", so I'm looking to walk your dog or play with him/her. On leash walks or dog park (if your baby is well behaved). I'm currently only wanting to walk dogs, not board them. I am also not wanting to stay in other people's homes. Dog park or on leash walks.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Point Roberts commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
