“Rebecca was great with our boys! She was communicative & sent pictures. Our boys are 15 & 10, so they have a whole slew of meds, potions and powders — she handled them like a champ & the boys loved her. Will book her again!!!”
“I have used Laci for both drop in and overnight services. She met with us for a meet and greet before the sitting dates. My Lola took up to her right away. Laci provided updates and picture and followed directions left for her the day of the sittings. I would seek out her service again for sure!”

“Katie is not only a great sitter but stays cool while facing an emergency situation (two visits from the fire department in the middle of the night!) 😳 A faulty smoke alarm ! Katie, thanks so much for your care of our brood and handling a tricky situation !”

“Karley took such great care of our poodle mix! She communicated well and often. I wasn’t worried for one moment about Kiki while we were on a family vacation. Glad we found her and will use again!”

“Jennifer did a wonderful job watching our two dogs in our home. She had great communication and took plenty of pics which ensured us our fur babies were well taken care of. She was polite and thoughtful! We highly recommend and would love to have her stay again!”
“Julie was so helpful to us! She took care of our elderly dog and skittish kitty with as much love as we would have. She provided regular updates and photos and even did light housekeeping for us-that we didn’t expect at all!! I highly recommend Julie for your pets and home.”

About: I have cared for animals almost my entire life having both cats and dogs in my family. I worked at a doggy daycare for a year so I have experience with most breeds and temperaments. I currently work at an elementary school and have availability in the evenings. I can house/pet sit during the week but would be away for about 8.5 hours during the day Monday through Thursday. I will be fully available for multiple visits a day or house/pet sitting on weekends and between June 1st and July 30th. At this time I am not caring for others’ animals in my home. While at a client’s home I will care for your pet as if they were my own. I will follow any feeding schedules given and ensure your pet has plenty of potty breaks.
“Eli was punctual, his communication is excellent! He watched over my dog like I would have and put my mind at ease. He sent pictures and was overall an A+++ sitter! Highly recommend!”

“Allison accommodated a last minute request to stay in our home with our dogs when our original person fell through. We were so thankful to find her! Our dogs were well cared for and she provided updates for us. I was able to relax on vacation knowing everything was fine at home. Thank you Allison!”
About: I have 2 years experience working with dogs at Laurel Oaks Animal Science where I gain experience with boarding, grooming, walking, and pet first aid. I'm currently available everyday but wednesdays and my schedule is very flexible. I have a cat and a dog, who I care and tend to on a daily basis and I also have years of experience in animal care, husbandry, daycare, and grooming. I take care of my cat and my dog daily. I also weekly give them both baths, trim nails and paw pads and give them preventatives each month. I also take care of dogs in my education daily. I give oral medications and preform first aid if needed.

About: I've owned a dog most of my life. I love dogs, but at this stage of life, I find it more rewarding to care for other people's pets and not own one of my own. I had a black lab for 14 years. She was my best friend. I'm sure you feel the same way, which is why you are looking for a sitter. Why place your pet in a kennel when I can stay with them in the home they know? Take that long weekend, or extended stay, knowing your home and pet are safe under my care. I'm an early riser. The dog is often my alarm clock. I prefer to let the dog out in a fenced yard. If the dog is well-trained on a leash, I can walk it and pick up droppings. We enjoy breakfast. I avoid people food, no matter how much they beg, unless you tell me otherwise. Active dogs want to play. Most will show me their favorite toy or game. I am retired but work from home. I am an artist and post my work online. I will ask for your wifi connection. Most pets stay with me while I work. We take frequent breaks to play, cuddle, or go out. The dog tells me what he/she is used to, along with your instructions. I'll follow your feeding and treats schedule to the letter. Later in the day, we watch TV. Many dogs enjoy Animal Planet or sporting events. I am an NFL fan and find many pets like the games too. At bedtime, I am OK if your pet wants to sleep with me. I find that a family with a fenced yard works best for your dog and for me. Your pet may act differently on a leash around other people or animals with me than they do with you. Keeping them safely in a yard avoids them breaking free of their collar or tangling with another dog. I will rarely need to leave your home during my stay, but if I do, your pet will be secured per your instructions and your home locked.
“Jenna stayed at my house for 7 days/6 nights. I am so glad to have found her!! She is so sweet and sent us pictures of our Maribelle every day while we were gone. Maribelle doesn't do well with staying outside of a home, so it was such a blessing to have someone come in and stay at our house with her and try to keep her in a similar routine as if we were there. It helped immensely for Maribelle's separation anxiety. She asked me a lot of questions beforehand about how we care for Maribelle and made me feel very comfortable to leave Maribelle in her care prior to her stay. Maribelle seemed to have such a great time!! She was exhausted when we got back :) And our house was just as we left it. I would definitely recommend to anyone in need of a dog sitter!!”

“Terry was absolutely wonderful and provided really thorough updates throughout our trip! She was on time and asked some really great questions during the meet and greet to make sure our boys were taken extra good care of, would highly recommend booking Terry!”

“Alexys did a Great job with my old chocolate lab, Bentley! I appreciate her spirit and compassion for how she cares. She was always on time and Bentley really enjoyed being with her!! Thanks for all of your hard work!!”

About: I've owned and cared for pets since I was in middle school. I own a lovable and silly orange tabby cat who lives with me and my wife in our apartment. I currently help my parents take care of their 2 labradors; one chocolate and one yellow, while they are at work during the week. I'd like to offer the same service and love to your furry friends. I am generally available every day of the week, except on a Sunday. If needed badly, I can do Sundays, but only 1pm or after. I make it a point to follow instructions very carefully in order that your pet gets everything they need and deserve. (medications, walks, vet visits[if necessary], etc.)
“Emmaline was super responsive and clear during her stay. Our dogs took to her quickly and she left our house cleaner than when she arrived. Will definitely be booking Emmaline before our next trip!”

About: I have taken care of my own dogs and others dog's for over 10 years now. My family and I have 3 dogs currently and have owned 6 dogs throughout my life of varying sizes. I have dog sat and walked dogs for many of my friends and family over the years with the dogs being in size ranges as big as Great Danes down to little Griffons. In addition I have bathed and brushed dogs for years as well. I of course am also very affectionate towards any dogs, making sure to give them lots of pets and scratches. I will be available between 10 AM-6 PM every weekday unless specified otherwise, though days and hours are mutable and can be subject to change in the future. If I decide to change my hours/days all clients will be notified of the change with ample time to figure something out between us if need be. I will show your dog affection and make sure they have enough food and water as needed. I can also differ my services based off what my client needs. For example during a drop in I can wear out your overly excited puppy, I can clean your litterbox, or I can just lay down and chill with your older dog who just needs some pets and attention. I am easygoing and can work with any client.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pleasant Plain
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,530 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pleasant Plain. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pleasant Plain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pleasant Plain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pleasant Plain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
