“We had a fantastic experience with Alyssa. She is so caring and kept me in the loop with excellent communication. I got tons of cute photo updates, and she even kept me updated on how his bathroom schedule was going, which shows how much attention she pays to the details. My dog was in great hands and I will definitely be booking her again.”

“Thank you once again! You and Trevor are amazing with bru and diesel! Bru has separation anxiety really bad just with me leaving him home for 10 min but to him it’s days, im sure he’s was having anxiety but he also knew he was safe with you. The boys love coming to your place, it’s worth the hour drive because we won’t leave them with just anyone! As long as you will continue to host them they will be with you 💗 and bru is not the only one with anxiety his mamma has it lol but honestly I haven’t even worried about the boys you guys do such a great job keeping us updated 💜💜thank you again, until next time 💜💜”

“Julie and Barry take such good care of our Cadi. She loves them. She is such a picky eater, but they know just what to do. I trust them completely with her care.”

“She was amazing with our dogs! Lots of pictures and feedback on their stay and both pups had a blast! One of them is a Husky and I felt comfortable leaving her there after Michelle gave us a tour of the backyard and all of the safety/no escape measures they have put in place to protect the pets. ? very important with alot of breeds (especially Huskies) We will be using her in the future for sure!”

“Anastasia shared pics and provided daily updates of our dog while we were on vacation. My dog seemed happy and enjoying life while we were away. We will rebook for sure for our next trip.”

“The last thing a pet parent wants is to worry about their beloved furry baby while traveling. Hayleigh provided just the right amount of love and care to Dash. I’m so grateful for sitters who truly love dogs and understand dog behaviors. Dash is by no means a problematic dog but he experienced some anxiety with another sitter that I had no choice but to switch sitters mid booking. Hayleigh was a comfort and even arranged to pick him up at previous sitter. I have no doubt she knows what she’s doing. Thank you!”

About: I have two dogs ages 5 & 6, I trained both of them when they were puppies. Brewer and goose love other dogs but can also be kept separate if needed. I’ve taken care of family pets since I was young and enjoy playing with animals. I currently home full time with my two children. We pop out for go to classes in the evening but are usually home Monday -Friday. We live in 6 acres of partial fenced yard. Lots of room to play and throw ball. We do have an older cat that keeps to herself. Would prefer a dog that doesn’t want to chase cats.
“I can’t recommend Lisa enough! She took such wonderful care of my dog for an entire week, and when my trip ended up being extended through the weekend, she was incredibly kind and flexible about continuing to care for my pup. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands while I was away. Lisa was reliable, communicative, caring, and clearly treated my dog like her own. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup.”

“Our two old dogs came home happy and healthy. They required a lot of extra care including medications and Jessica was so sweet and accommodating about it. Would definitely trust her again.”

“Kattrina was a great host for our dog while we were out of town. She let us know that her dogs adjusted to their visitor, and she gave updates showing us his ample socialization during the stay. Would book again for sure!”

“I love leaving Rory with Cassie I feel totally confident he is in good hands and will be well taken care of. And he always has a great time. He’s a happy dog when he’s back home with us. Settles back in contentedly.”

“Melodie took great care of Prince and Princess on short notice! Melodie also submitted daily updates and pictures of Prince and Princess. They loved their stay with Melodie. I would recommend to book your pet’s stay with Melodie!”
“Kristen did a wonderful job watching our dog. I love that she sends daily updates and pictures. We always feel comfortable having Kristen watch our pup. Thanks Kristen!”

“Jeffrey was great! My regular sitter cancelled last minute, and Jeffrey was available and super responsive. They were great at sending informative updates and it was very clear Toast was treated just like a member of their family! He was taken on special outings with Jeffrey and his wife and was very spoiled. Would definitely book with Jeffrey again!”

“Our family is so grateful to Megan for taking such good care of Lumi! We had peace of mind knowing that she was well taken care off while we were on a trip. Megan shared many videos and photos. She also took Lumi to the dog park! We highly recommend Megan.”

“I have only a few people I really trust with my dog and Rachelle is one of the best in the area she cares for your dog like it was her own I can tell my dog loves going over to her house, she's also very good about communicating and sends photos of him to me daily I don't ask for this but I love it, it's always nice seeing he's having a great time while I'm away ☺️ highly recommend Rachelle”

“Sharmista took wonderful care of my dog, Kaisa. She was kind, communicative, and sent regular photo updates throughout the stay, which really helped ease our anxiety while we were away. When I picked Kaisa up, she nuzzled into Sharmista as if she didn't want to leave, which told me everything I needed to know about how comfortable and loved she felt. I would happily trust Sharmista with Kaisa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring dog sitter.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Pleasant Home home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Pleasant Home.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Pleasant Home sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
