Having traveled to Portland from San Diego to visit our toddler granddaughter, we were in a bind. Our mixed-breed dog is reactive to the toddler and to the two cats who also live in the house, and that makes for a stressful visit. I wanted to get a dog sitter, but I was worried about finding someone so far from home on short notice. Our dog has a lot of separation anxiety and is rather high-strung. Julie and Barry have a beautiful, peaceful home. They were so kind to my dog that she jumped out of our car each morning when we dropped her off and ran up to their front door because she was so excited to see them again! Julie and Barry only take care of one dog at a time, and they will give your dog individualized attention and lots of love! Everyday the pets in my care are let out for a potty break upon arrival or in the morning, before coming back into their separate spaces to have breakfast (if boarding or parent's brought breakfast). About an hour (time to let their food settle) after breakfast we go out for another supervised potty break, depending on the weather we'll stay outside and engage in some supervised play or come inside and do some enrichment activities before enjoying some down time to relax and reset. If you have requested a lunch for your pet, I'll provide a safe and quiet space for you pet to enjoy some lunch between 12pm-1pm. After letting their lunch settle( between 1pm-2pm) we'll go back out for a supervised potty break and some more supervised playtime, enrichment, or go for a walk in the neighborhood. I live in a house in a quiet neighborhood. I have 2 pet friendly dogs of my own, a husband, and a 16 year old son. My backyard is fully fenced (6ft tall) with security cameras all around the outside. I also have baby gates and x-pens to keep pets separated if needed. I have poop scoops and a bucket for quick and easy clean up, pet safe/vet approved sanitizer to keep things clean, pet first aid supplies, toys, enrichment/training equipment, a dog run, kennels, water bowls, a sandbox for digging in, swimming pools/sprinklers for hot days, and plan to add more outdoor equipment for a more fun and enriching time. Your pets will be treated like one of my own.

I officially became a dog mom in 2019 after graduating from college when I adopted an elderly Chihuahua named Lucy. Im currently a full-time graduate school and do have in-person classes on campus downtown, so if I’m house sitting your furbaby would have to be ok being alone while I’m away. For walks, I will always keep your dog leashed and be mindful of outside temperatures while we're out. For drop-ins, I’ll make sure they have plenty of fresh water, receive any requested meals or medications, and have supervised outdoor time. If I need to administer medication, I’ll make note of when it was given and observe them afterward to ensure they’re doing well before I leave. Their safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my top priorities.

“This was our second time booking with Lisa, once again she provided outstanding care for my dog Zuko. This stay eas especially important because he was recovering from his neuter surgery. She followed all of his post-op care instructions, kept me updated with pictures and messages, and made sure he was comfortable. It's such a relief to have someone I can trust with Zuko, especially during a time when he needed extra care. We will definitely be seeing Lisa again in the future!”
“Anastasia was extremely attentive to Spud. He can be a bit nervous, and she quickly put him at ease. She also sent me regular updates so I would know that he was doing well. It was nice to get pictures. It was comforting to see how much she loved her dogs and how friendly they are as well. The yard is spacious and there is plenty of room for the pups to play!
