“Finding the right fit for taking care of my two older chihuahuas was very stressful, until I came across Julie and Barry. Firstly, my huge requirement was that they had no dogs of their own and secondly, that they would only have one client at a time. That is not super easy to find. And not only do they fulfill both of those requirements, but it is two people instead of one, so it's an incredible amount of care and attention that is given to any animal that they might care for. One of my pups has some pretty major anxiety and Julie knew just what to do with her. She turns on her heating pad and cuddles up on the couch with her, and I can tell that they are very loved while there. And though I know my pups don't like being away from me, they very obviously feel safe and comfortable with both Julie and Barry. They also have a wonderful place for the dogs to be when outside. Our pups are going to board with them soon and we feel 100% comfortable with it, and excited that we have found Julie and Barry. About: Born and raised in Northern VA. I have been, and continue to be, an animal lover for my entire life. I have been in veterinary medicine for almost 20 years. I went to the University of Rhode Island to get my B.S. is Animal Science with a focus in Veterinary Medicine. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your best friend is getting plenty of attention, exercise, affection, care until you’re back home. I’m currently a surgical technology student, and my classes are scheduled in the mornings, which means I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and quality time with your pets. I know every pet is different, so I like to stick as closely as possible to the routine they’re already used to. About: Growing up, my family always had dogs, so I’m pretty comfortable around them and looking after them,too. I officially became a dog mom in 2019 after graduating from college when I adopted an elderly Chihuahua named Lucy. She passed away two years ago, but caring for her gave me experience with senior dogs and administering daily arthritis medication. I now have my girl Peaches. Through caring for my own dogs and pet sitting for friends and family, I’ve gained experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs. I also regularly watch my brother’s 2-year-old Staffie mix who is the biggest baby and I love like my own fur baby. I love going on walks, hikes, and visiting farmers markets/local parks/coffe shops, so your pup will get plenty of love, attention, and activity while in my care. I also like to call myself a “master pill hider” because Peaches has definitely made me work for my skills when it comes to giving daily medications 😂 I look forward to meeting your fur baby and possibly you, too! I promise to send consistent photos and videos while they’re in my care, and I’ll always communicate if I notice anything concerning about their behavior. I’d rather ask questions than assume something is normal. Im currently a full-time graduate school and do have in-person classes on campus downtown, so if I’m house sitting your furbaby would have to be ok being alone while I’m away. For walks, I will always keep your dog leashed and be mindful of outside temperatures while we're out. For drop-ins, I’ll make sure they have plenty of fresh water, receive any requested meals or medications, and have supervised outdoor time. If I need to administer medication, I’ll make note of when it was given and observe them afterward to ensure they’re doing well before I leave. Their safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my top priorities.
About: All services are offered in Oregon. For Washington folks, I can offer boarding your pet in my own home but I do not travel across the river. I have over 1/2 acre of fenced yard and I am home all day giving your babies my full attention. Caring for your pet is my full time job. Since all of my pets have passed over the rainbow bridge, I have decided to come back to my true passion... taking care of animals! I am also working towards a becoming a certified dog trainer. Your pet will not be lonely with me. I will play tug or fetch with your dogs. I am happy to use a crate or cuddle with your fur baby on the couch for nap time. I will be happy to brush your cats and spoil them with catnip and chin scratches. I will keep their rountine to make them comfortable and give them plenty of engaging activities to keep their mind sharp.
About: I've been caring for dogs ever since I was young and we got our first family dog. My parents had us rotate pet chores including feeding, bathing, walking, picking up poop, etc; I've done it all! I've dog sat many times for family and friends and I love all different breeds and ages. I LOVE going for walks! Last minute? No problem, I'm very flexible during the weekdays! I'm available weekdays for dog sitting/ walking/ drop ins! Some availability on weekends as well, we can work something out! Very flexible, & open for last minute bookings! I cannot board pets at this moment, I am only available for dog sitting in clients homes. I'm very respectful of clients' homes and good at following the at home pet procedures that are unique to each pet. I'm very clean, organized, responsible, respectful, and considerate.
