About: Hi! I’m a passionate and experienced dog lover with over 4 years of hands on experience working at a busy doggy daycare. In that role, I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Handling everything from playtime supervision and feeding to administering basic care and ensuring a safe, happy environment for every pup. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve grown up around them, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like they’re my own with patience, attention, and lots of love. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, a reliable sitter, or just some extra attention while you’re away, you can count on me to provide dependable, attentive, and compassionate care. I’m comfortable with high energy dogs, shy pups, and everything in between! I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! I’m a teacher during the week, so my pet care schedule fits perfectly around that! I’m available in the afternoons/evenings on weekdays, and I have full availability on weekends, holidays, and throughout the summer. This allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and consistency when their owners need it most. I have a dog of my own, but I live in an apartment, so boarding in my home isn’t ideal. My dog is friendly so play dates are definitely an option if you’re okay with it! I prefer caring for pets in their own environment where they’re most comfortable. In a client’s home, I always follow all provided instructions closely and do my best to keep your pet’s routine as normal and consistent as possible whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or any specific care needs. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and stress free while you’re away.

About: Ever since a kid animals have always fascinated me ! I loved playing and watching them grow as if they were my kids (which our pets are). I’ve watched dogs for coworkers and even friends , though the time was short many of the animals enjoyed their time with me being their sitter! I look forward to creating a special bond between me and your pet . Ensuring they feel safe and loved is what’s most important. Catering to your kiddos specific needs is what I do best . Whether it’s long walks , toy fights , or long baths , I’m down for the ride ! The world is such a beautiful place because of our animals why not love and cherish them .

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and other small animals. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning up after them, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving plenty of attention, love, and reliable care while they’re away. 🐾❤️ I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to pet care and ensure each pet receives the attention they deserve. I make it a priority to follow their regular routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication schedules if needed, and plenty of affection. I understand how important consistency is for animals, so I always make time to provide reliable care, companionship, and a comfortable environment while their owners are away. My goal is to make pets feel safe, happy, and loved, no matter how long they’re in my care. I am comfortable caring for pets in either their own home or mine, depending on what works best for the pet and their owner. In a pet’s home, I make sure to maintain their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure in a familiar environment. If caring for them in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and loving space where they can relax, play, and receive plenty of attention. No matter where they’re staying, I treat every pet like family and make their well-being, comfort, and happiness my top priority.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was a kid because growing up I would always come home with new ones all the time! I have all the time to play and train dogs now because I got one of my own. I also used to work at Sherwood South Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center as a kennel attendant. So I really have a lot of hands on experience on running a kennel as well as dealing with the hurt animals in the ER. And I know a lot about medication, routines and food routines so it shouldn’t be a problem with the experience I have. If I didn’t have to move to Lafayette Louisiana, I would love to stay at the emergency hospital, but we wanted to move to a family safe area. I really had a lot of love for the animals that I took care of and was really a great experience. I’m currently working part time and can sit or board pups durning the weekdays and weekends!! From 9am to 7pm I could walk the pups. Boarding whenever!! I have a black lab puppy at the moment and train and take her for walks very often. It would be great for her to have some pups for friends we have a fence in yard and a dog park as well!

About: 💗 30+ Years Experience | Pet Lover & Rescue Mom 💗 About Me: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 30 years of hands-on pet care experience. From seniors to puppies, shy cats to sassy small breeds—I’ve cared for them all with patience, love, and genuine joy. I live with a small crew of rescues who remind me every day why I do this. Meet my furry family: 🐾 Sadie – my 17-year-old gentle senior pup who’s full of wisdom and love 🐾 Harley – a 9-year-old tuxedo cat with a flair for the dramatic and a heart of gold (even if he pretends otherwise) 🐾 Nemo – my 7-year-old Pomchi with a signature pout and a heart that melts for cuddles 🐾 Marley – a 5 lb Chi and the definition of a momma’s boy, always by my side Each of them came to me as a rescue, and their individual personalities have taught me how to tune into an animal’s needs—whether it’s a slow introduction, a cozy nap buddy, or just the right way to scratch behind the ears. I specialize in senior care, shy or anxious pets, and multi-pet households. I’m comfortable with all sizes and temperaments, and I treat every pet as if they were my own—because I know how important they are to you. What you can expect when your pet is with me: ✅ Calm, loving environment ✅ Personalized care based on your pet’s needs ✅ Medication administration (oral/injectable if needed) ✅ Regular updates and photos ✅ Deep understanding of pet body language & behavior Whether you’re headed out for a weekend or need a daily drop-in, you can feel confident your pet is in capable and compassionate hands. Let’s talk about how I can help give your pet a safe, loving experience while you’re away! I have a flexible job that allows me to schedule check-in visits throughout the week, so I’m available for midday potty breaks, feedings, or quick play sessions. I’m also free most weekends and happy to help with your pet care needs when you’re away! Safety & Trust Come First—In Your Home or Mine Whether your pet stays with me or I care for them in your home, their comfort, routine, and safety are always my top priority. 🏠 In My Home: 🐾 Calm, pet-friendly space with constant supervision 🐾 Safe, secure, and clean environment—no hazards or crowded areas 🐾 Slow, thoughtful introductions to my own friendly rescue pets 🐾 Comfortable areas for seniors, small breeds, and nervous pets 🐾 Personalized care for puppies, kittens, and special needs pets 🐾 Experience with oral meds, eye drops, topical treatments, and some injectables (with instructions) 🚪 In Your Home: 🏡 Respectful, responsible care in your pet’s familiar environment 🔒 I follow your safety protocols: gates, crates, feeding routines, meds 🐕 I never rush—each visit includes time for cuddles, play, and proper care 📸 You’ll receive regular photo updates and check-ins for peace of mind 🩺 Experienced with senior and special needs pets—mobility issues, incontinence care, anxiety, or routine-based behavior needs 🍼 Confident with young puppies and kittens, including feeding schedules, socialization, and extra clean-up care With 30+ years of experience, I’ve learned how to tune into each pet’s unique needs and provide care that’s not just safe—but truly loving. Whether you’re heading out for a few hours or a full vacation, you can trust your pets are in good hands.

About: I have always been a dog owner and lover. My husband, daughter and I have bought a house in Broussard where we have more space in our home and our yard for our fur babies. Honestly, I loved animals since I could remember. I have the best of both worlds with my American Bully(Thor) and my Shih Tzu(Chewbacca); they are best of friends. Many people are automatically nervous around Thor because he is mixed with pitbull, but it is all about how you raise your animals. He is a sweet-well-behaved-friendly pup. I love doggie cuddles and play dates. When I’m not working I go to the parks, go on Zen walks to surround them with other dogs, and play games with them in my backyard. From puppies small to large, young and old, I love and care from them all. ****more reviews in pictures**** Pet care is a full-time job for me since I work from home. From taking them out between 1 and 2 hours to walks around the block, feeding them, caring for them with cuddles at night, and ensuring they’re rested and ready to go again the next day, it’s an all-day affair. I love all dogs, and I’m happy to meet their needs. If it’s a cozy cuddle session with a low-maintenance walk, I’m all for it. Or, if it’s an energetic afternoon at the play park, where they can socialize with other puppies and have a fun run around the block, I’m totally up for that too!

About: I care about my animals that I am with! It's my priority to fulfill their needs. I been a pet lover all of my life so this will be less of a job, more of something I love to do. Taking care of animals would be in my free time which is usually around 4 days a week. I work part time at a clinic, so it would be around my hours! About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for a very long time you can even say my whole life. I’ve raised cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas, even a chameleon from babies to adults. I’ve potty trained many puppies, taught them tricks, and even cared for pregnant mommas with puppies. Cats are more of my specialty though i’ve litter box trained them, taught them to walk on a leash, tamed feral cats/kittens. I also volunteer from time to time at the Acadiana Animal Aid shelter helping care for cats/dogs in need of homes. I’m currently working full-time. I work an 8 hour day normally from 8 am - 5 pm, my hours are flexible though. I also have a 1 hour lunch I can take. I’m completely free most weekends. I have a mostly fenced yard where my dog Huck loves to play, it is a little small but we make do with the space we have. My dog and cats gets fed twice a day morning/evening. If I’m caring for an animal in a clients home I can visit in the mornings/lunch/evenings depending on the care needed.

Ione was absolutely fantastic with my 12-year-old Yorkie, Lily Marie. I was traveling from California for my graduation at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I needed someone to stay with Lily in our hotel suite while I attended the ceremony at the Cajundome. From start to finish, I felt completely comfortable leaving Lily in Ione's care. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Ione was responsive, transparent, and flexible, coordinating everything in advance, including scheduling a meet-and-greet upon my arrival in Lafayette. She met us at Girard Park, took the time to get to know Lily, and made us feel comfortable right away. On the day of the booking, Ione arrived at the hotel on time and stayed with Lily for the whole scheduled period. During the stay, Ione sent frequent updates and photos that clearly showed her attentiveness and care. Lily settled in very quickly, hardly cried at all, and became comfortable almost immediately. Several of the updates showed Lily lying comfortably in her dog bed, resting on Ione's jacket, and rolling over for belly rubs. By the end of the visit, Lily was fully settled and relaxed, which was especially reassuring given that she was in a new environment. Knowing that Lily was calm, safe, and receiving personal attention allowed me to focus on my graduation without stress. I truly appreciated Ione's reliability, patience, and genuine care for Lily. I would absolutely book with Ione again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive sitter, especially for house-sitting or hotel stays. Thank you so much, Ione. FAQs for House Sitting - Pilette

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pilette on Rover is $32.1 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 110 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pilette. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pilette walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pilette maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pilette choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
