âMegan was fabulous and goes the extra mile. She dog sat in our home and was very respectful, great communication, trustworthy and very clean. She not only cared for our doggie but the plants and pool. She was in communication with us daily with updates and our dog seemed very comfortable with her. We will definitely be using her again.â

âRay did a phenomenal job taking care of my dog!!! He is great at giving lengthy walks that my high energy dog needed and took great care of the house. I couldnât have asked for anything more. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a house sitter or just someone to take care of their dog.â

âSamantha was wonderful with our two dogs and Guinea pigs. She made them feel comfortable and safe while we were away. She kept us up to date throughout our entire trip and we look forward to booking her in the future!â

âThis was our first time using River to house sit and take care of our dog, Zoe. We were very pleased!! He spent quite a bit of time with Zoe, was very attentive to her, and sent us lots of photos while we were gone. As other pet owners know, having someone you trust to stay with your beloved baby is a necessity for worry-free traveling!!!â

âWeston did a phenomenal job caring for our three pups while we were out of town. He sent multiple updates and photos every day. He went above and beyond in his care, even playing fetch and other games with our youngest dog to get some of her energy out. He was reliable and quick to respond from the start of the booking process (he also helped us out on short notice which was amazing!). We are so thankful for his care and cannot recommend him enough. Would give 10 out of 5 stars if we could. Thank you!!â

âAbby was kind and dependable. She took good care of my cat and the house. She was tidy and thoughtful and my cat seemed relaxed and happy with her. Thank you, Abby! I'll be happy to have you return.â

âEhlana went above and beyond for our cats. First time here for Ehlana, tornado sirens went off, she got herself, cats, food, water, and bedding to the basement and back when safe. Her care for our cats was exemplary for the rest of her stay. Very responsible and dependable sitter . Highly recommend!â

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience and genuine love for animals. Iâve had my rescue dog, Bear, for 8 years, so I understand the patience and consistency pets need to feel safe and loved. Whether itâs sticking to a special routine, giving meds, or just being a calm, comforting presence, I treat every animal like family. As a full-time student and part-time daycare worker, I have a structured but flexible schedule. I work three weekdays and have weekends free, which gives me time to focus on pet care, especially for weekend stays, walks, or check-ins. Iâm used to managing routines (thanks to my daughter and my job!), so fitting in pet care is something I can do consistently and reliably. Whether in my home or yours, I make sure pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I follow their usual routinesâmeals, walks, playtime, and any special instructionsâso they feel right at home. I give lots of affection, keep their space clean, and always prioritize their well-being. If Iâm in your home, I treat it with respect and care, just like I do with your pet!

About: Iâve taken care of friends dogs, family members dogs, and even volunteered at an animal shelter and was taking care of different animals there. I am currently employed at equine medical where I take care of horses. I myself have 2 cats and a dog that I love so much. I am currently employed and a student at Stephens College. I will not be available till after 5. Weekends are available though! I would prioritize your pets like i do mine. I take my dog on multiple walks a day and he would love another friend to walk with him, or even play with him at my house or your house/ apartment.
âBailey did an amazing job with Brandy! I had never left her alone with someone who wasnât family, and Brandy can be a bit anxious, so I was nervous, but Bailey did great with her. She sent lots of photos and let me know when she was coming and going from my place. Brandy got put on medication the day before I left which she took in stride. Highly recommend!â

âAnthony was fantastic. I was afraid my elderly dog would be too difficult for a stranger to look after him, but Anthony allayed my fears and told me Charlie did well for him.â

About: I love all kinds of animals! I have owned and cared for a wide range and animal's. My goal is to make animals have a great life. I am a full time student at Mizzou but my schedule allows for plenty of time through the day. I have many gaps between classes so I can check on anything in the middle of the day. I have lots of experience with many ages and levels of trainings of animals I have watched for friends. I am always up for a challenge and I am confident in taking care of your animals.
âSuch a great experience- Allison was wonderful to work with and took such good care of Bailey and my home. I will definitely use Allison again for all future travel.â

About: I grew up with numerous pets; cats, dogs, hamsters, and even a sugar glider. I love animals and the playful energy they bring! I am used to caring for multiple animals at once and have no issues doing so! Iâm currently a full-time college student. I am available on the weekends and in the early morning/late evenings during the week. I enjoy running and being active so Iâd love to have a furry friend to accompany me! I currently live in a townhome with a large unfenced yard that faces the woods. I can easily crate if needed and I am very active so active dogs are welcome!
âBrianna was awesome! I was worried leaving all my babies for the first time, but she took great care of them. Great communicator, sent me some cute pics and reliable! Would 100% recommend!â

About: I've had extensive experience with various dogs, cats, and even reptiles. Im quick to learn and willing to figure out things with experience. Just show me how to do it and I'll follow accordingly I work all weekdays between 6-7 hours, which gives me a decent amount of time to handle the pets afterwards. If needed I can show up briefly during my lunch to let them out. I am relatively flexible As long as i am informed of the dos and donts of the household animals, I can be readily available. Medication, allergies, and other variables can be taken into account with the right amount of precaution and acknowledgement. Just let me know wha to expect.

Megan was fabulous and goes the extra mile. She dog sat in our home and was very respectful, great communication, trustworthy and very clean. She not only cared for our doggie but the plants and pool. She was in communication with us daily with updates and our dog seemed very comfortable with her. We will definitely be using her again.

Josselyn is very reliable. She did not hesitate to communicate as needed. Sent pics of my fur babies to show they were ok. Looks like they had a great time with her. She also went above and beyond to help on the day we got back and letting the dogs out in the afternoon since we were running late. Overall, we had a great experience with her.
Katie was a phenomenal care giver for our two small dogs. This was the first time we left them home with care instead of boarding. Katie was attentive, sent pics and updates, played games with them, and took them on walks. We were able to really enjoy our trip, and the kids felt good knowing that they could ask for a picture or an update, and we would get one! Thank you, Katie, for your excellent care!

Ashley was an absolute pleasure to work with for a recent family vacation we took. We needed a home stay for our Bulldog and not only that, he was a lt the tail-end of recovering from a major surgery. Ashley went above and beyond with our Bulldog, the house was spotless when we returned. Ashley is also a wonderful communicator and responsive to all our needs. We will definitely be using her again and recommend her to all others. Thank you, Ashley!

Claire took such good care of my dog Derby. It was so nice to see him happy with tail wagging when I got home. Additionally, Claire was responsive and sent me pictures every day. The house was neat and clean too. I will definitely ask her to stay with my little guy again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pierpont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pierpont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pierpont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pierpont. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 87% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
