“We were worried going into this as our dog Yogi has immense anxiety about new people, but as soon as they met, they instantly connected. She was great about keeping us updated with photos, videos, and messages. We are so glad we were able to have her there for our dogs, we can’t recommend her enough!”

“River was a great pet and house sitter! Sent us many pictures and all four cats and the dog were happy and healthy! The house and pets were all great upon our return. Would highly recommend and will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Abby was kind and dependable. She took good care of my cat and the house. She was tidy and thoughtful and my cat seemed relaxed and happy with her. Thank you, Abby! I'll be happy to have you return.”

“Ehlana went above and beyond for our cats. First time here for Ehlana, tornado sirens went off, she got herself, cats, food, water, and bedding to the basement and back when safe. Her care for our cats was exemplary for the rest of her stay. Very responsible and dependable sitter . Highly recommend!”

“Bailey did an amazing job with Brandy! I had never left her alone with someone who wasn’t family, and Brandy can be a bit anxious, so I was nervous, but Bailey did great with her. She sent lots of photos and let me know when she was coming and going from my place. Brandy got put on medication the day before I left which she took in stride. Highly recommend!”
About: I’ve been pet sitting since highschool at the age of 14. I’ve am also a veterinary assistant since 2023! I have my own pet that is a very active German Shepherd! I am a college student working at a vet clinic 15+ hours a week in the evenings! I am very flexible during the day time. Most days I don’t work until 3pm! I can easily monitor your pet and make sure it has a blast when in my care! The care I provide for my own pet is something I pride myself on and would love to care for yours!
About: I currently own 3 energetic dogs that adore! I am responsible for all aspects of their care. I have also dog sat for friends and family in the past. I am a graduate student so there are some times that I am not available, but most weekends and early morning and nights I can be available! I usually have breaks between classes that I can be available to check in on or walk your pet. At a client’s home you can count on me to make sure your animal is safe, loved, and cared for. I will do everything in my power to make sure the animal feels comfortable and not too out of routine.
“I can’t recommend Kiley enough. Managing three dogs is no small task, but she kept them happy, exercised, and on their routine perfectly. She sent great photo updates that really put my mind at ease. Beyond the excellent pet care, she went above and beyond by straightening up/cleaning the house, which was in pristine condition when I returned (the absolute best feeling after being away from home). She is professional, trustworthy, and clearly loves what she does. 10/5 stars!”

“Makenna was wonderful to work with and she communicated all situations with us and ensured our two dogs were well taken care of on our trip! Will absolutely request her in the future!”

“Brianna was awesome! I was worried leaving all my babies for the first time, but she took great care of them. Great communicator, sent me some cute pics and reliable! Would 100% recommend!”

“Taylor survived another house sitting appointment with our drool monster. Took great care of the boys and can't even tell she was in the house for a few days. Highly recommend her, we'll be booking again soon.”

About: Hi! I’m a veterinary assistant with 3 years of experience in small animal practice and a current veterinary student at the University of Missouri. I have cared for dogs and cats my entire life and currently have one dog and four cats of my own. I also have experience caring for other small pets, including owning guinea pigs for 9 years and maintaining freshwater aquariums for the past 3 years. Through my work in veterinary clinics, I have experience administering a wide variety of medications, including oral medications, topical medications, eye and ear medications, inhalers, insulin, and other injections. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets, pets with chronic medical conditions, and those recovering from illness or surgery. I have experience working with fearful, shy, anxious, and reactive pets and understand that every animal has different needs. My goal is to create a calm, low-stress environment while respecting each pet’s comfort level and routine. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets while you’re away. My goal is to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in experienced, caring hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As a full-time veterinary student, my schedule is structured and consistent throughout the week. I’m generally available for morning and evening visits every day, with additional midday availability on most weekdays depending on the location. My availability may vary slightly during exam weeks, but I will always communicate any scheduling limitations in advance. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s specific care schedule and will do my best to accommodate recurring visits or medication schedules. I provide care in your home so your pet can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. During each visit, I make sure pets have fresh food and water, bathroom breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise or playtime, and plenty of attention and affection based on their individual personality and comfort level. I understand that every pet is different. Some love to play and cuddle, while others prefer a quiet presence and a consistent routine. I take the time to get to know each pet and adjust my approach to help them feel safe and comfortable. With my background as a veterinary assistant, I’m also comfortable administering medications, monitoring for changes in behavior or health, and caring for senior pets or those with special medical needs. My priority is to provide dependable, compassionate care so you can feel confident your pets are in good hands while you’re away. At this time, I am only able to provide care in clients’ homes and cannot offer boarding or daycare in my own home.
“We were originally going to board our dogs during our destination wedding, but I got nervous last minute. Mackenzie saved the day for us. Our dogs loved her and they got to stay home with their routines instead of being anxious somewhere new. Would definitely rebook and highly recommend 💓”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Huntsdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Huntsdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Huntsdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Huntsdale. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 87% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
