About: I’ve had dogs and other pets for as long as I can remember. When I was about 10, I became obsessed with reading about different dog breeds and their needs. My first job actually working with pets was a dog daycare. I loved building connections with the pups and their parents. At this job, I learned defensive handling skills (how to avoid or break up fights or attacks) and how to handle reactive, scared, and stubborn dogs. I work shorter hours on weekends so I’m able to make plenty of time for your baby, plus my wife is always home and will occasionally help care for your pet when I’m not around. I like to have group play or just time outside when it’s cool in the mornings and evenings. I have a fenced backyard that I check for holes daily and an open front yard (leashes at all times out front). I’m able to crate your dog at anytime they might need it and can even have them in a separate room if crates aren’t their thing. Another bonus is that my wife is home just about full time and is able to care for your pet when I’m not around. If I’m at your house, I will take your dog outside on a leash the first few times just to see how they are and to make sure they aren’t an escape artist once mom/dad is gone

“Dustin did a great job taking care of Patty with short notice. He was flexible and quick to respond to set up a meet and greet at the last minute when we had a death in the family. Patty enjoyed her day with Dustin and the rest of the pups. She loves meeting new people and pups but can be a bit shy and clinging at first but it was clear from the photos that Dustin provided that she was happy and content while we were away. She isn't used to being around several dogs and Dustin did a great job getting her settled in. She loves laying in the sun and roaming around grassy areas and Dustin's yard was like a big wonderful park for her where she could be off leash and enjoy the outdoors and running. We will absolutely be taking Patty back for just play time with other pups to make sure she stays socialized. She came home tired and happy and it was clear she was very well cared for. Thank you Dustin!”

About: ABOUT ME: Completely insured WITH Animal Bailee Insurance and Vet Protection Coverage through PCI. I have been on and off Rover since I was in college and own my small business. I am a previous dog owner. My animals were not only my pets, but they were my family. I had my Labrador for 13 years and my Boxer mix for 15 years. We used to love to take long strolls around the neighborhood and visit our pals at the local dog park. We would cook dinner and lounge around watching our favorite flicks. We even took car rides around town when we got bored. Over the years, we went through everything from crazy puppy phases, to professional command/leash training, and experienced all medical scares (labs love to chew on EVERYTHING) under the sun. Maple was a diabetic for 7 years. I can assist with any type of need ranging from long walks, simple belly rubs, to training help. I am highly experienced in administering topical, oral and injectable medications, as well as eye and ear medications. My senior pets care needs helped build my knowledge in senior dogs. I am well educated on many types of medications and daily care pills. Whatever the need may be just ask me! EDUCATION: I am a graduate with my b.s. in buisness from Purdue. I currently am a stay at home mother, with much freedom to build my own schedule. Therefore I am always available for drop-ins and pup walks throughout the week and weekends. I am completely insured with $1M general liability, Animal Bailee Insurance, and Vet Protection Coverage. I care for pets in the same way I would care for my own pets, like family. Play time, walks, relaxing on the couch, eating treats, you know... just hanging out.
About: I worked in marine mammal care and training at The Indianapolis Zoo for 10 years, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral neuroscience from Purdue University. My partner and I both work from home and we have two dogs of our own, so pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. I have 2 friendly, crate trained dogs who get walks 2-3 times/day. We also recently built a mini dog park in our back yard for dogs who prefer to be off leash, but also need to be supervised while outside.
About: I have owned and taken care of other’s pets all my life. I am 48 years old and have 3 cats and 1 dog currently. I have had many labs and larger dogs as well as small dogs over the years and love caring for all breeds and sizes. I take care of my neighbor’s dogs, bunny and cats when they go out of town. I work a full time job from home and have a lot of flexible hours to walk dogs during the day. I am available most weekends to come over and care for other pets, clean litter boxes and just spend time with your fur babies. I have a very large fenced in yard and a social dog that will play. I have 3 cats that have spent their entire life around dogs. I have 3 different sized dog crates if your dog is crate trained. My pets are allowed to sit and sleep on the furniture and beds in the house. My pets are like family members and pretty spoiled! I will treat your pets the same as I treat mine.

“Veronika has house sat for our cats and been an amazing puppy day care for our 9 week old pup. She’s our go to pet sitter because she is reliable, compassionate and a great communicator!”

“Stephanie was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Lucky was very anxious, she worked with him, kept us informed, sent pictures, and by the time we picked Lucky up, he was happy and much calmer!! We look forward to our next visits!!!!!”

“Codi had a great time playing with Sarah and her two sweet pups! She came home super exhausted and happy. We can’t wait to send her to Sarah’s again and will definitely be booking again soon.”
About: Animals have always been my primary passion. Growing up on a farm surrounded by cows, chickens, and a variety of dogs—from energetic Boxers and Labradors to gentle Golden Retrievers, I learned early on that every animal has a unique personality and specific needs. Over the last 15 years, I have cared for a wide range of dogs and cats, gaining extensive experience that spans the entire life cycle of a pet. This work is deeply personal to me, as I recently said goodbye to my own beloved Boxer who lived to be 13 years old. Navigating those senior years gave me firsthand expertise in providing mobility assistance, a gentle touch, and precise medication administration. Beyond senior care, I am highly proficient in puppy care—focusing on consistent training reinforcement and managing high energy, and I am comfortable with all temperaments, from "velcro dogs" who thrive on constant attention to more independent or cautious rescues. I am available full-time with a completely open and flexible schedule, which means your pet will be my primary focus throughout the day. Whether you need a mid-day walk, a last-minute drop-in, or around-the-clock companionship for your pet, I can easily accommodate your needs. Because I am 'open whenever,' I can stick strictly to your pet's specific feeding and exercise routine without any time conflicts. Safety is my absolute priority. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do a thorough walkthrough to ensure everything is secure and follow all house rules strictly. I am very experienced in managing different leash temperaments on walks to keep dogs safe from traffic or other animals. I provide frequent photo updates and clear communication so you can have total peace of mind knowing your pet is in expert, loving hands. My home is currently a calm, pet-free environment, which is ideal for dogs who prefer to be the 'only child' or need a quiet space to relax.
“Mark and Kelly were very sweet and patient with our little 14 year old dog, Roxi. Roxi stayed at their house for a couple days while we were in town visiting. She was nervous at first with the elderly dogs that lived there but Mark and Kelly made sure she had a "safe place" and over time she even started to venture out of her shell. The stay there was good for her.”

“Megan and Lois have been incredible with Milo! He's very energetic and loves to run, so I love that they have a fenced in backyard where he can run some of that energy off. He is always tired when I pick him up from daycare, which is rare for his breed :) It just shows that he's played hard, and I couldn't be happier with the care that Megan and Lois have given him at daycare. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Another great experience with John and Madison! I love that they always send so many updates and I can see how happy pork chop is throughout the day. Very grateful for them always going the extra mile to take care of him. Thanks again!”
“Olivia is awesome. She is very caring and responsive. Sufi has been with her multiple times and he always came back home happy and tired. Last couple of occasions, Sufi did not want to come back home, and that says it all!!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have cared for a wide variety of breeds, ages, and sizes. My family has a long history of rescuing dogs from shelters—especially those who struggled to find homes due to trauma, reactivity, or anxiety. With patience, structure, and consistent training, I have helped many of these dogs gain confidence and eventually transition into loving forever homes. Because of this, I’m experienced with: • Reactive, anxious, or shy dogs • Dogs with difficult backgrounds • Senior dogs • Puppies and high-energy breeds • Multi-dog household management I’m comfortable preparing homemade meals if your dog has dietary restrictions or special needs, and I’m always happy to follow any routine your pet requires. I’m a stay-at-home mom, which means your pup gets: • Frequent potty breaks • Lots of one-on-one time • Consistent supervision throughout the day I have high activity levels—great for energetic dogs who love walks and playtime—yet also have calm, patient personalities that help anxious or older dogs feel secure. I have two children: a 1-year-old daughter who is home full-time, and a 7-year-old son who is home outside of school and sports. Both kids adore dogs and have grown up understanding pet body language and boundaries. While i do ask that your dog be kid-friendly, i also make sure our children respect each dog’s comfort level and personal space. What You Can Expect • Reliable communication • Photo and video updates upon request • Safe, loving care tailored to your dog’s needs • Plenty of walks around our large subdivision filled with sidewalks, parks, and ponds—weather permitting • A warm, family-style environment with structure, comfort, and enrichment Your dog will truly be treated like part of our family while they’re here. 💛🐾 I truly love dogs—my two pups are part of everything we do, and they enjoy meeting new friends. My home is designed with safety, comfort, and flexibility in mind: • Fully enclosed 8-foot privacy fence for secure, weather-permitting outdoor play • Completely pet-proofed home • Multiple levels and gated areas for dogs who need separation • Retractable gates and room dividers for customized safe zones • Doggy Chill Space for crates, quiet rest areas, and decompression time If your dog prefers not to interact with other dogs (or only struggles with certain types—male, large, senior, etc.), i can easily provide full separation and rotating play schedules to ensure every dog has a calm, happy stay.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 561 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Pickard. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Pickard commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 561 sitters in Pickard, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
