About: Hi there! Caring for animals has been second nature to me for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s dogs or cats, I’ve lovingly looked after both my own pets and others’ for years. I welcome detailed instructions and will always follow your preferences to ensure your fur baby feels safe, happy, and at ease. I have experience with all breeds and temperaments, and I specialize in senior pet care. My own pup is 14 years old, so I understand the extra love, patience, and attention they need. I also know that some pets need a little time to warm up to new people, and that’s completely okay. I’m respectful of their pace. Before any drop-ins or vacation care, I highly recommend scheduling a meet-and-greet or a walk so your pet can get to know me in a familiar environment. This helps build trust and ensures a smoother experience for everyone involved. You’ll never feel out of the loop! I love sending regular updates and plenty of cute photos, because I know how important it is to stay connected when you’re away from your best friend. I’m here to give your pet the same level of love and attention I’d want for mine. Looking forward to meeting you both soon! I have no schedule on the weekends but I try my best to be flexible through the weekdays. I am solely here to help you get the care your pet needs while your working or even away for vacation. Within my home, my dog is free range due to being house trained. Your instructions will never be too detailed for me! I will follow your instructions to the tea. Just let me know what all you need for me to do :)
“Tatum was a phenomenal cat sitter for our sweet kitten! She sent frequent updates, obviously played with him lots and brought over more toys, snuggled with him, and went above and beyond to make sure he had as much companionship as possible. We are thrilled we connected with her and hope we can have her watch Gus again!”

“Elisa is the sweetest girl. She sent us daily photos and Bella loves her. We were never worried that our baby girl wasn't being well cared for and loved. I highly recommend Elisa if you need someone to care for your fur baby”

About: Experience with dogs of different sizes as well as with cats. I used to have 5 dogs at once. All with different needs. Very flexible and will acclimate to whatever your pet needs! Very flexible with whatever you and your pet need. I WFH throughout the week and can work from wherever. Or I can just go check on your pet after work or for a walk. On a recent health journey and would love extra motivation to be more active outdoors! I’m very conscious about ensuring pets are well leashed and not left alone (especially outside). Will make sure they get their food (and treats, if allowed) as well as all the necessary pets!

“She did an awesome job house sitting our 2 doggies. One of them is deaf and fairly high-energy so we showed her the signs we use to communicate with her and she did great. They both got lots of play time, attention, walks and were happy puppies when we got home. She kept us up-to-date with plenty of pictures and videos and she was very attentive to their health (one of our pups can get allergies so she was watching out for that). Would definitely book her again.”

About: Ever since I was a child, I was responsible for the care of a variety of animals, and I mean solely responsible. Growing up (and today), I was the one that friends and family came to for pet sitters and care/training advice. I prioritize following pet care instructions to a tee- I do not cut corners on even the most “meticulous” of care instructions. With me, you can trust that your fur babies will receive the highest quality of care and attention because of my intrinsic love for animals. My days vary a lot, but I am often able to make time if you give me a week’s notice. If you need urgent pet care, do not hesitate to reach out. I cannot promise that I will 100% be available, but I will make the time if I have it. Honestly, I prefer to play by the owner’s rules when caring for their pets. Besides that, I refuse to take anything but a gentle approach with the pets. I am very careful to only administer treats/toys as the owner instructs.
“Brandon was so awesome and communicated so well with us while we were gone . Our dogs were so happy to be with him and he sent us plenty of pictures . We will definitely be sticking with him any time we need a dog / house sitter :)”
“Tyler was amazing! The pups didn’t seem to miss us at all. She was attentive and provided photos frequently without any prompt. Will definitely be using her again for our pups.”

About: I have been sitting houses, dogs and cats for several years for the majority of my own independently gained clients. While I worked as a housekeeper, I became the go to dog sitter for many of them. Even after I quit housekeeping, I still have stayed on as their trusted sitter. I have both a cat and dog myself, have raised two litters of pups, and I give my pets an insane amount of lovins through scratches, massages, baby talk, play and car rides to go get doggy ice cream from Ritters, all while singing “you are my sunshine.” This is the same kind of lovins you can expect for your pets to receive, as I am a firm and proud believer that I ought to treat them as I would my very own! I have sat for foster dogs, senior dogs and cats, special needs dogs, dogs with behavioral issues and am familiar with the care of horses and chickens as well. One thing that sets me apart is that I have plenty of time available to give your pet a vacation while you take yours! I work as an esthetician and esthetics instructor 3 days per week, so this allows me to keep my schedule open and flexible for my pet sitting clientele. I love being outdoors, have a huge heart for animals, and I trust their instincts and try to be as in tune with them as possible. They really are so sensitive to what’s going on around them and I love learning from them and their observations! I have a lot of flexibility within my schedule as I only work 3 days each week. I don’t mind early mornings, and strive to keep a consistent routine for your pet. I live on a full acre, and provide 50 foot locking cables for dogs to get their zoomies out! I always keep a plethora of snacks on hand, cheese connoisseurs will not be disappointed, and I can provide a large private bedroom (it was formerly 2 small bedrooms) for pets who prefer their alone time.
“Highly recommend Amy! Plenty of pictures & videos! Great communication! Dogs were happy & healthy! The house was even clean when we returned! Couldn’t ask for a better a sitter for my pups! Will be using Amy again!”

“Christina was great. We have three unique personality dogs. A 15 year old chi, a new rescue goldendoodle with some trust issues and an 100lbs energetic Doberdoodle. I missed them so much but our vacation was better with morning and evening pics and messages ensuring us our babies were safe and happy. Highly recommend.”

“Carol was amazing! Sent lots of updates and communicated the entire process while she watched my old fur baby! She was very thorough, flexible and detail oriented and took amazing care of my dog. Would use again . My dog felt right at home with her and I could tell in the pictures he was well taken care of! She goes above and beyond! AMAZING”

“Maira spent a week with our 2 dogs while we were on vacation and she was amazing! She sent lots of updates, pictures and spent pretty much all day hanging out with them, going for walks and playing in the yard. She took great care of them (and their high energy) and our house! I would definitely use her again for my dogs in the future!”

“Tarah was wonderful with my three dogs. She was very understanding about their special needs and was super great to work with! I definitely recommend her and will hopefully book her again in the future!”

About: I have been taking care of animals my entire life, I have experience with cats, bunnies, dogs, ducks, chickens, and snakes! I will give your fur (or feather) baby so much love, they'll hardly notice you're gone! I am currently a freelancer, who is underemployed so I can fit pet care into my day in whatever capacity is needed. I am happy to stay overnight as well. I have pet sat for many notable Dayton figureheads including Mrs. Ohio! My home is not equipped to host dogs, but I will happily come to yours. I am a cardio instructor who loves to be outside, so going on walks will be my favorite part of the day. I will happily play with your pets, and snuggle them on the couch while I read or work on my latest craft project. I am very tidy and will leave your home exactly as I found it.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Phoneton on Rover is $31.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Phoneton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Phoneton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Phoneton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Phoneton. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
