“CAundra was wonderful with my dog. Margo requires special help due to some medical issues and it was no problem. Such a wonderful thing knowing someone is able to care for your dog while you’re away. She is responsive and sends pictures and was respectful of my home. Thank you!!!”

“Mandy watched our two cats and two dogs for the holiday weekend and did a great job! Our dogs are very playful and she understood their needs and gave them lots of attention. Communication was excellent and I appreciated the photos while we were gone.”

“Kyelene was so wonderful with all our animals and the responsibilities of our entire household. She was Beth attentive and communicated with me regularly. I hope to have her back at our house for our next adventure. Thank you, Kyelene!!”

“Mary was awesome!! This was my first time ever using this app or anything like this to watch my dogs. The experience was so great that this is the only way I will do it going forward and it will be Mary that I use. I loved the fact that she would send me pics so I could see them having fun! Thank you Mary you did an awesome job!!!”

About: I learned everything I know about pet-care at the vet I worked with many years ago. There my love and passion for animal…especially dogs… grew. It was also there that I learned cats are not my favorite. 🥴 Though I learned a lot from my time working at the vet, I realized that seeing animals suffering or in pain was not something I could do on a daily basis. That realization led me to this job. In my spare time I enjoy my community at Life.Church. Service there has taught me the importance of consistency and reliability. I was recently given a new mental diagnosis, and having my community, my family and my therapist surround me with love and support has been life-changing for me. I would love to get to know you and your furry family members! Because this is my full-time job, I have open availability, and would love to help with scheduled or drop-in visits. Please just leave written instructions that I can recall later, as your pup will not be my only furry client I will need to care for. I have loved dogs ever since I can remember. While I do enjoy my work as a house sitter, watching and caring for dogs is what brings me the most purpose. I have experience with big and little dogs, so whether you have a golden retriever or a Shih Tzu, rest assured, they will be well taken care of.

About: I spent all day at home to take care my cat. Feed, wash their hair every week, and some time take them go outside to hangout I'm a student. I have a plenty of time to play with cat. I go to school from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Sometime I learn at home I have a friendly cat at my home. She is very friendly and maybe shy a litte bit. I can stop by at your home to take care of your pets.
“Emily was so caring for our pets and left our house spotless. You wouldn't even know she stayed over for 3 nights. She checked in frequently and made sure to follow all of our instructions. We would love to hire Emily again to watch our pets.”
“Misty took such phenomenal care of our pets! She sent regular updates and pics that showed the pets both happy and being themselves, and she spent lots of time with them every day. When we arrived home, both our pets were calm, well fed, and happy. I could tell that she had done a great job not just meeting all their needs but also giving them affection and helping them feel safe while we were traveling. So thankful that we were able to leave our pets in such good hands!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats in our household and helped take care of them, feeding them and helping keep their space clean. I’ve also had my dog since she was 6 weeks and she lived to be 14 with a heart murmur. I trimmed her nails, gave her haircuts and bathed her. I also helped tend to her special diet and needs in her later years. I work part time and usually have some time each day for pet care, including any special care. I just like to know a couple days in advance so that I can be sure to manage my time wisely. I can walk dogs around my neighborhood or take them to a park nearby. There are several to choose from. I have a spacious living area with a backyard. I am good at paying attention to detail to be sure your pet will be best taken care of.

About: I love all animals, and I’ve been working at a pet store for a year now. I love seeing all the different animals that come in every day. I enjoy helping people find stuff for their pets and greeting them all when they walk through the door. I have many regulars that I love seeing, and I’d love to meet more. I really can’t wait to meet your babies and get to know them. I’m currently working at a pet store I love working there and meeting all the different animals that walk through the doors I’d be happy to do these on my days off and work it into my routine I’m able to help with meds and do whatever is needed to help your baby feel comfortable I gave it harnesses on dogs and crate them if needed. I do a lot of that work at my job I help people fit their dogs harnesses and collars perfectly at work and help them find the best care for them!
“Our cat really liked Ingrid, much so, that she was not the least bit stressed when we came home. Usually she is stressed for a few days but no signs of stress at all this time! I honestly think our cat expecting Ingrid to walk through the door when we got home. She might have been a little disappointed when she didn’t:-) also, she brushed Daisy with a magic brush (I need one), and her hair looked great! Finally, Ingrid left hour house and yard both clean and tidy and everything looked great! I wold highly recommend Ingrid to everyone that understand pets are family and need to be cared for in the same way. Five stars for Ingrid!”

“Amanda was great. She was very communicative and kept us up to date on our home and dog. We came back to a clean home and couldn’t be happier. Our dog seemed happy and so excited. Would love for Amanda to watch our dog again!”

“Julie did so good with our three fur babies! We had a bad Rover experience in the past and we were hesitant to try again but she made all our worries go away. She sent updates with the cutest pictures and we will definitely be using her again!”

“This was my first time using Rover but I needed a way to find a house sitter that knew what they were doing. I booked Arianna because she had good reviews, available for the booking, and cheaper. I have 4 dogs so I needed someone with a lower “additional dog fee”. She watched them about 10 days. When returning home, I didn’t find any bathroom accidents or tore up furniture. She fed them twice a day and gave my pit an allergy pill each day. I did not require any dog walking. When going out of town, I will use her again.”

“This is the third time Sophia watched our pets and each time she does an absolutely stellar job. We have an old doggo with anxiety that sometimes need a little extra TLC and Sophia went above and beyond to make her comfortable. As long as she’s pet sitting we will gladly employ her to watch our babies.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Peck walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Peck maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peck choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
