“Annie was great. She sent several pictures and updates on Gandalf every day. Her home was very safe for our cat and she is definitely "tuned in" for knowing or figuring out how to engage with a cat for exercise and play time. We will definitely be back to Annie for our cat boarding needs. Thanks Annie!”

“Her and her family were AMAZING! She sent updates, pics and videos throughout each day. I always knew what Rain was up to. I will 100% be asking her to watch our pup again!”

“Elizabeth and Kevin were so great! The entire process is well thought out and simple. I got numerous updates, pictures, and videos throughout my pups stay, which eased my mind of being away from him immeasurably. 10/10 recommend.”

“Wynde was fantastic! We left her with our foster dog, who is still transitioning from crisis and kennel life to our home ( 6 weeks) and then to hers for a long weekend. Wynde was so accommodating, as with her family and pets. She was flexible with my schedule changes leaving and coming back in town; went above and beyond with making emotional space for our foster to feel in control, and welcoming any small act toward connection from our foster. It only took two days before I received one of many pictures of our pup laying on top of Wynde, all 45 lbs. I highly recommend her and will call on her again! Debbie”

“Sheila took such great care of Penny! We loved the photos and videos she sent us. It was easy to see how happy and comfortable Penny felt with her. Penny was exhausted when we brought her home. Definitely recommend her!”

“Another great visit with Uncle Dan! We know our pup is well taken care of and loved while we are away, and we appreciate all the photos and updates during our trip. We try to book Dan for every trip!”
“Where can I even begin, this was our first time boarding our pup and we were beyond nervous to leave him. Aunt Dana QUICKLY put those worries aside with the care and attention she gave our puppy. Outside of the AMAZING care she constantly sent updates and photos so we never had to wonder what our pup was doing. If anyone is looking for a sitter who takes dog care to the next level Aunt Dana is definitely the person for you I honestly wish I could leave a 10-star review.”

“Heaven sent!! Christal (and her sweet kiddos) were a true blessing. My dog landed in the perfect home while we were vacationing. The communication was prompt, from the moment I requested her services (at 4AM), Christal answered and took in my puppy that same afternoon. He was well cared for, seemed happy with his daily walks and play time. I appreciate the photos I would receive throughout the day. I recommend Christal and will definitely reach out to her when I need a pet sitter. Christal: Thank you SO MUCH! Max sends his love to you and your family!”

“Leslie was VERY accommodating with our last minute booking and always answering my texts. She sent pictures to reassure our dog was in good hands. He fell asleep on our drive home which means he had got out lots of energy and had a great time! Will defiantly be using her and her husband again.”

“Kayla and her husband were amazing sitters for our dog Sticks. This was our first time using Rover for dog sitting and from start to finish it was a great experience. They constantly updated us with photos and videos and made us feel so comfortable knowing he was safe and in great hands. They were very accommodating with giving him his medicine as well. Will absolutely be using this family again for our dog sitting needs ❤️”

“Carolina and her family took wonderful care of our pup while we were away. She has an amazing set up and yard for the dogs to play. She sent daily updates with pictures and video. Our pup was very happy during his stay.”

“Amy & Ross were great and helped me out last minute over the holiday! They sent daily pictures & updates of Artie and definitely made me feel comfortable that he was being cared for. They gave him lots of attention and exercise as well. I’ll definitely book with them again!”

“Alyssa and Spencer took great care of Sadie!! They were able to take her on short notice which was a huge help and gave her lots of love. Thank you Alyssa and Spencer!!”

“This family is just the best. I believe my dog had the best experience ever, he had the best countenance to him when we picked him that shown me he was well taken care of. Not to mentioned loved. The family loved him like he was one of their own and I couldn’t have asked for a better environment. Our dog has special needs and can be a little to handle but they welcomed him and took such good care of him. He was just bouncing and dancing around happy to show me where he had played and his favorite snack they had given him. What a family. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I will most definitely be using them again.”

About: I have two male dachshunds. I have had the. since they were puppies. I had three, but my oldest passed away on Dec. 16, 2025. He was13 years old and I have had him since I was 21 years old. My second oldest is 11 years old and the youngest is 4 years old. The dogs are allowed on furniture. We have ramps to help them onto the couch and they have a nice ramp up to a comfy window bed area. Our dogs love sleeping there and looking out the window. I am used to dogs with health issues. My oldest dog, Odie, had a very sensitive stomach and had to have a strict diet or he got pancreatitis. Our youngest has had back surgery and was paralyzed and slowly regained mobility. Taking care of dogs with health issues is not a problem for me. When booking with me. Let me know about your pets personality. Be specific with eating schedule. I require the dogs to be crate trained if I have to step out of the house. We have a big backyard that is perfect for exploring and running around. When the dogs get hot, we have a small pool that my dog Oscar loves to jump in to cool off. I am a teacher and I have my summers off. During the school year I am gone during the day. My dogs are fenced off to the hallway and the front window. They have 3 dog beds and a ramp leading up to the window where they also sleep on a platform. The dogs are cozy waiting for us. Make sure to let me know how your dog should be handled when I am away. I will crate your dogs next to mine while I'm away from the house. To ensure their safety. We have a big backyard and your dog will get lots of loves at my house. We are big dog lovers. I live with my husband and two children. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old who are gentle with dogs. My 5 year old actually has her own dog. The youngest dachshund, Jack, is hers. They have a great bond and he always sleeps in her bed at night.

About: I have been around animals my entire life and grew up caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, and even reptiles. Over the past five years, my family has had a full house of pets, including one dog, two cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, and a chameleon, so I’m very comfortable with a variety of animals and their unique needs. In 2021, I completed training to have my golden retriever certified as a therapy dog. After becoming licensed, she worked alongside me in public schools, where she provided comfort and support to students. That experience strengthened my skills in handling, training, and understanding animals while ensuring they feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work from home, which allows me to give animals plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m able to provide regular potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins to make sure pets are comfortable and well cared for. Since I’m home most of the time, pets are rarely left alone and can enjoy a calm, consistent environment. Caring for animals is already part of my daily life with our own pets, so adding additional pet care feels like a natural extension of our routine. My home is very pet-friendly and used to having animals around. I have a family of five with three kids ages 11–16 who all love animals and are respectful of their personalities and space. Since I already have pets in our home, I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing regular feeding times, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. When caring for pets in my home, I focus on making them feel safe and comfortable, just like part of the family. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions the owner provides. My goal is always to make sure pets feel relaxed, well cared for, and loved while their owners are away.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
