“Denise is great! She even threw a birthday party for our dog while we were away. Their house is within walking distance to the beach and she took him on long walks - you can’t beat that! Definitely using her again.”

“I am so glad we chose to board our dog with Shannon! She was very responsive and sent us daily photos of our pup with updates throughout her stay. My dog was very comfortable and felt right at home. She was so happy and attached to Shannon when I picked her up. We will definitely be reaching back out for future dog sitting needs!”

“We are so grateful for Yajaira's care of our little dog. Our dog is shy with new people but within just an hour or two Yajaira had already won her over, taken her for a walk and sent photos of our little dog relaxing in the house. We loved getting the cute photos and updates while we were away. Yajaira has excellent communication and it's no wonder why she has many 5-star reviews from pet parents. We'll gladly book with her again when we need a reliable and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Yajaira!”

“We just used Jenna for the second time to care for our Great Dane puppy..this time over 10 days! She was once again wonderful to communicate with. I love that she has a big family who can consistently give our dog attention and love. He is very spoiled in her home. He appears to be very happy there! We will surely use her again!”

“Marina was a wonderful dog sitter for my baby! We were regularly updated with pictures and texts! I will be sure to use Marina anytime we visit Santa Cruz!! I felt like my family was watching my dog, she is beyond amazing!”

“Lauren took wonderful care of Millie over several days including the 4th of July! She was conscientious and asked great questions about her needs both during the pre stay walk/meet and greet, and before/during her stay. I heard from Lauren daily (per my request when she asked how frequent I wanted texts and pictures), and she took Millie on daily walks, the beach/river for swimming and fetch after sticks, and paid attention to how to get her settled and comfortable. Millie was very comfy there, had fun, and walked right back in when we arrived! What a blessing. Millie was worn out and calm when we came, too- such a relief as she is normally very high energy. Lauren also communicated her schedule realistically and was on time and efficient, giving us info needed to drop off and pick up, and accommodated us during her visitor staying there, which she told us ahead of time. Her close proximity to the beach/river was also a nice surprise.”

“We're so happy to have found Lisa, who has been a wonderful dog-sitter for Yogi twice now. She is friendly, responsive, and reliable, and their sweet doodle, Koko, is a great playmate for our pup. He comes home pleasantly exhausted after lots of play and beach time! (We SO appreciate the post-beach baths, too!) Thanks, Lisa and family for taking great care of our ball of fluff.”

About: I grew up in a big home with 12 dogs, so caring for pets comes naturally. Your dog is in loving, experienced, and reliable hands, always! I currently have a part-time summer job during half the day, but I’m fully available in the evenings and nights. I also have two days off weekly, giving me plenty of time and flexibility to give your pet the love and attention they need I treat every pet like they’re my own; no seriously, think belly rubs, baby voice, and full VIP treatment. Your pup’s safety, routine, and happiness? Locked in.

“Kathleen is the best dog sitter ever! She had Olive and Carson for 11 days and they received attention, care, and love. Carson was taken on runs and Olive got to be lazy at home, as she requires with her arthritis . They became a part of their family and got plenty of snuggles. I received pictures everyday from Kathleen. And anytime she had a question she would reach out. Carson had an upset tummy one day and she reached out to let me know, ask about whether or not this was common, and updated me when he was feeling better. Most importantly we were able to relax while we were away knowing Olive and Carson were in excellent hands. Kathleen will be our number one requested pet sitter, from now on.”

I have done husbandry care for tiny little coral, feeding them like clockwork and making sure they have all that they need, so if your animal has any dietary restrictions or allergies I am more than capable of handling all of their needs so long as instructions are provided.

“Thank you so much for taking care of Trixie during our recent travels. You two are the best! It's hard for us to leave Trixie, but we are always comfortable leaving her with you. And I think she settles in with you quite well! Best, Judith & Mike”

About: I’ve lived my whole life growing up with dogs in my family home, and I’ve dog sat for neighbors, family, and friends. I’ve also walked dogs around the neighborhood. I’m currently a student at UCSC. I love hiking, going to the beach, and going for walks. I’d love to have the chance to care for someone’s pet. I am available every day. I have a lot of free time to spend with people’s pets. I’m currently a student at UCSC, so pet sitting on the side would be a great chance for me to make extra money! I live in a two bedroom apartment in Santa Cruz. I have one roommate who loves animals. I also love animals. I have plenty of space for an animal to roam around and feel comfortable, and I have a space to put a crate or a dog bed. Usually when I first meet a pet, I introduce myself and try to get a sense of what the animal is feeling. If they’re shy, I give space, if they’re friendly, I’m open to cuddling for hours. Next to my apartment there is a park that I love to take the dogs I dogsit. It’s a very nice walk. If I am watching someone’s pet, they are welcome to roam around freely in my apartment if they’d like.

Pasatiempo dog parents share their Rover experiences
Linda was absolutely amazing! I reached out to her last minute, and she still managed to squeeze me in without hesitation. I was so grateful for her flexibility and willingness to help on such short notice. From the very beginning, she was so kind and attentive and not just with me, but especially with my dog, Dante. She went above and beyond in caring for him, taking him on multiple walks throughout the day and keeping him active and happy. What really stood out to me was how she took him to the duck park, the beach, and the local farmers market! I could tell Dante was having such a great time, and I truly appreciated the updates and photos she sent. Overall, Linda did an incredible job. She treated Dante like her own and made sure he was well taken care of every step of the way. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and responsible sitter. I’ll absolutely be booking with her again!

Hanna was really a great house sitter. She watched our 3 dogs while we were gone. The dogs were really well taken care of. She did a great job of following our complicated instructions. She also cleaned up well after leaving which we never asked her to do but appreciated. Would definitely hire Hanna again.

We couldn't be happier with Natalia! Our energetic mini-goldendoodle, Rocky, had an absolutely fantastic week-long stay at her place. From the moment we dropped him off, we knew he was in great hands. Natalia's communication was outstanding – she made it incredibly easy to connect, and we especially appreciated the photo updates and sweet notes on how Rocky was enjoying his time. This allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our trip without a single worry. Her home is a doggy paradise: spotlessly clean, wonderfully spacious, and features a fantastic garden packed with toys that Rocky clearly adored. It's truly the best environment a pet could ask for. We had such a positive experience and will absolutely be rebooking Natalia for all our future dog-sitting needs!

We were coming from out of town, but Sofia would be my top pick if I lived in Santa Cruz. I’m really picky who watches my dog, who’s an Aussie/Heeler mix, because we’ve made so much progress in our training. Sofia fit perfectly into his routine and gave him long walks and a calm place to rest while I was out to dinner or out partying to visit friends. Everytime she took a picture of my dog Squid he was dead asleep. That’s challenging for him to do in a new environment!

Taylor did an outstanding job dog-sitting our dog, Bodhi. She was incredibly caring, attentive, and made sure he felt comfortable and loved throughout his entire stay. Taylor took the time to get to know Bodhi’s personality and needs, and it was clear she genuinely cared about his well-being. She kept us updated, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We could tell Bodhi was happy, relaxed, and in great hands. We would absolutely trust Taylor to care for him again!

Annika was just great! We were in town for a few days and decided to bring along our puppy for queenie. Problem is, no dogs allowed on the boardwalk! Annika was the perfect solution. She was friendly and sweet and queenie instantly loved her. She has her own sweet larger dog that was friendly and gentle with our tiny Pomeranian. Annika sent pictures and communicated throughout the day. If we’re ever in town and in a pinch again we’ll be sure to look up Annika!
