“Allison was truly amazing, I would give 6 stars if possible. She spent so much extra time hanging out with our cats. She went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. It is a relief knowing that Allison is here whenever we need a pet sitter. We highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with their pets.”

“Jennifer was amazing and took really great care of our kitties, she is very reliable and conscientious. I will definitely be a repeat client and recommending her to all my friends”

“Mike was communicative, adherent to our schedule, and followed all instructions requested of him. He also sent a ton of pictures, which I really appreciated. It was refreshing to just be able to enjoy my trip knowing that my dog was taken care of. I would absolutely recommend him to others (just not during the times I’m away 😉)”

“Karissa took care of our kitties for over a week while we were on vacation, and would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter! Very professional, caring, and sent us pics/ videos of the cats daily so we can see how they were doing while we were away. Overall great experience :)”

“We liked the service. We met Kim before we needed her services. She took care of our cats while we were away. She came in daily as scheduled, maintained the litter boxes and replaced the food and water. We will call her again.”

“Dominique came in twice a day every day to watch and care for my dogs while I was traveling abroad. She updated me daily with pictures and let me know how my dogs were doing. I felt very much at ease knowing that she was taking care of them and letting me know along the way if there were any problems. I highly recommend her to care for your dogs and I will definitely be booking her again!”

“Megan was a great sitter. She took wonderful care of my cat. 🐈 she was always there when she was supposed to be and always sent plenty of pictures and videos. I could tell my cat was happy and being loved. 🥰 I will definitely be using Megan as my go to person and I will definitely recommend her.”

“Tessa was wonderful! She took great care of Remy while I was away and was always very attentive to his needs. She carefully followed all of my instructions, including giving his medication with a Pill Pocket, and was very responsive whenever I had questions or requests. My flight was unexpectedly delayed on my way home, and she was kind enough to accept a last-minute morning visit so Remy could receive his medication on time. I really appreciated her flexibility, reliability, and great communication. I would absolutely book with her again!”

About: I've never been a professional pet sitter, but I've proudly been the go-to sitter for family and friends for as long as I can remember. From playful pups to senior sweethearts. I've always loved caring for animals of all kinds. And yes, I've even pet-sat hermit crabs. In fact, one cat-sitting job turned into a 12-year relationship with my late cat Kitty (I know..very creative). I treat every pet as my own and understand how important it is to trust the person caring for them. My goal is simply happy pets and happy owners. My current priorities are my education and my son. Outside of those responsibilities, I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable, loving care for your pets. My goal is to step in and make them feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. I'll stick to their routine, give them plenty of attention, play, and affection, making sure they feel like they're spending time with a friend instead of a stranger. I'll always keep you updated with photos and check-ins to give you peace of mind.
“This is our 2nd time using Jonathan. We had a vet emergency 1 hr before our flight, and he came to the vet office, picked up meds, and administered them while we were away. Incredibly kind and responsible person!”

“Amazing!! My pup loved being with Angelina !! She did everything as I asked. Being a first time dog mom I was terrified leaving my baby with anyone but she made me feel safe & took care of my cleo as if it was her own!! Highly recommend and would deff re book !!”
About: I’ve grown up with dogs and am a huge dog lover. As I have yet to get a pup of my own, I’ve been sitting for family, friends, and family friends for more than 5 years, where I mainly housesit. I’ve had experience watching dogs of all ages, from grumpy seniors with medication to lively puppies who need extra clean up time, to anxious Covid babies. I am very detail-oriented as I respect that each dog has their personal routine and want to ensure that not much is disrupted for them when I visit/stay. I understand the importance of keeping in contact with owners (only to the extent that you wish to be contacted) throughout the day. I guarantee that I will take plenty of photos of your pet and will be happy to share them! Note: I am based in LES, NYC for the summer. I work fully remotely, so I'm flexible to working with your pet's schedule when housesitting. I'm available for afternoon walks, or to come to housesit from the evenings usually. I'm also willing to travel to housesit (I've travelled to DC before!), though this would require travel coverage as part of compensation. ***For house sits of 1 week or longer, I ask owners to support in covering my meals. Gift cards or a stocked fridge are very much appreciated! *** I tend to ask clients for a document with their pet's daily routine, and how their behaviours are. I will care for your pets as you would advise to care for them in order to maintain consistency and not confuse them. Afterall, I am the guest in staying in their space should I be housesitting. For walks and drop-ins, I would like to also respect your pet's routine and ensure that they are comfortable and at ease.
“Thank you so much! Nicholas went above and beyond for Harvey and even took him out to play with his favorite ball! Your attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed! Thank you again!”

“Elizabeth is a joy to work with! She is responsible, competent, compassionate, and dedicated. Not only is she prompt in her check-in’s she really cares about the animals she works with. During a challenging moment with my dog while we were on vacation, she politely remained in contact but took control of the situation and both the house and dog were right as rain by the time we got back! 10/10 would hire her again!”

About: Hi! I'm Alyssa, a stay-at-home mom and lifelong animal lover who would love the opportunity to care for your pets as if they were my own. I share my home with a playful 2-year-old dog and two cats, so I understand just how much our pets mean to us. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I'm committed to providing them with loving, dependable care while you're away. As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable walks, drop-in visits, and plenty of attention throughout the day. My daughter often joins me on walks, so your pup may have an extra little friend along for the adventure! Of course, I will always be the one responsible for your pet's care and safety. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and loved. I also believe in keeping pet parents updated with photos and messages, so you'll always know how your furry family member is doing. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved pet, and I'd be honored to earn that trust. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As a stay-at-home mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time throughout the day to dog walks and drop-in visits. Getting outside for fresh air and exercise is already part of our daily routine, so caring for pets fits in naturally. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, a potty break, playtime, or some extra companionship while you're at work or away, I'm happy to provide dependable, loving care. My goal is to make each visit a positive experience for your pet while giving you peace of mind knowing they're in caring hands. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, preferences, and any special instructions so they can stay as comfortable as possible while you're away. Whether I'm providing a walk, drop-in visit, or caring for your pet in your home, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of affection. I understand that every pet is unique, so I always tailor my care to their individual needs and your preferences. I'll also keep you updated with messages and photos during each visit, so you can relax knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Parlin. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
