“Jen and Louis saved the day and came through for me and my chiweenie Willar when I really needed a sitter who understands my senior pup's needs. Willar has dietary restrictions and some quirks, and Jen was attentive, followed all the instructions for Willar's routine, and she asked very thoughtful questions. Additionally, her dog Louis is so welcoming and sweet. They really helped with some transitions I'm going through and were very accommodating.”

“Abigail was incredible! It was my first time using Rover for the “doggy day care” and I’m definitely sticking with it. Abigail kept me posted throughout the day with personalized updates. Boba and Mila got along so well! I always feel a bit anxious leaving Mila behind while I’m at work, but I felt so much better knowing she was in Abigail’s care. I’m so grateful it worked out, and I’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Kathryn was great with Jasper. He played with her dog and had a nice walk. Probably got a bit spoiled as well. Definitely will be using Kathryn again in the near future.”

“I am thrilled to have found such a wonderful in home daycare that only takes one dog at a time. Hannah (and Chris) are very kind, loving and communicative. My dog is 10 years old and this is the first time he has been away from our home. I was very apprehensive at first not knowing what to expect but the experience has been great! When we get to their door, his tail is wags a mile a minute!”

“Katie is great! This was Mochi’s first time being around other dogs for this amount of time and she definitely put my mind at ease with of all the pictures she sent. Mochi had a great time and will definitely be seeing Katie and Henry soon!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to sweet senior pets who need a little extra love. I’m calm, reliable, and really good at reading each dog’s personality and needs. I also have experience giving medications and keeping pets on their routines. What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I provide. Every dog I watch is treated like family, with lots of love, play, and patience. I work from home and am starting grad school part-time this fall, so I have a flexible and consistent schedule. That means I’ll be home most of the day to give your pup plenty of attention, walks, and care. Pet sitting fits perfectly into my routine, and I’m always happy to adjust to meet your dog’s needs. Safety and comfort always come first. I don’t have any pets in my apartment right now, so your dog will get my full attention. While I don’t have a yard, there’s a peaceful running trail right behind my place that’s perfect for walks and outdoor time. Inside, pets have a clean and cozy space to relax, and I keep a close eye on them at all times. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I stick to their routine and create a calm, secure environment where they feel safe and loved.

“Simon is the BEST! He took the best care of our dog “Rosie”! We have already rebooked Simon to take care of Rosie for a few upcoming days that we need daycare!”

About: Experienced, energetic, attentive and loving dog mom, who has raised several much loved and well cared for dogs over the years with my adult children. I will walk your fur baby in my Old Town, very walkable neighborhood, every 2-4 hours, providing lots of love and care😊 I am planning for an early retirement with the Dept of State. I live in a modern condo, located in Old Town, Alexandria. I am available for doggie daycare and boarding in my home, Monday - Sunday. I have lots of green space right outside my door and a park across the street. We will take neighborhood strolls, and hit the dog park. I will provide treats throughout the day and evening - providing photos along the way. I have blankets, doggie beds, games, toys and a crate, if needed. I will do my best to follow current habits you have established in your home for consistency. I do not have any pets at home. Tender care and safety are my number one concern. I will only board 2 dogs at a time, the only possible exception would be d/o & p/u overlap. I have lots of green space right outside my door and a park across the street, perfect for free play! Also will provide a discount for long term boarding, (1 month or more).

“KIMBERLY IS THE BEST!!! She took the most amazing care of my pup Casper yesterday. He came home happy, tired, and with a huge smile on his face. She was super communicative and an awesome sitter. Not to mention the pictures she shared — she should become a pet photographer!”

About: I have a variety of pet care experiences that set me apart from other sitters. I was a volunteer puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation for two years. During this time I raised an 8-week old puppy and trained her to be a service dog. I have experience in potty training, crate training, basic obedience, socialization, and reactivity training. I have also fostered animals for local shelters including a bonded pair of cats, a 4-week old puppy, and a senior dog. I have experience in administering a variety of medications for both cats and dogs and am comfortable doing so. I have also personally owned a cat and currently own a young dog! I currently work a 9-5 job during the week. I work remotely 2 days a week and am available on weekends. I work very close to home, so I am able to come home during days I am in the office to care for pets if needed. I have an open apartment with room to play and snuggle with your pet. I am right by a park and lots of green space to play with your pet. I am also in a very friendly neighborhood to take dogs on walks. I have extra supplies if needed including a crate. I am happy to accommodate special requests if needed. I can also drop by and take care of your pet(s) at your home if you prefer!

“Nina was great! We were on vacation and had a last minute change of plans. Nina responded quickly to our inquiry and was able to accommodate us last minute. She took great care of Shadow! I would use her again if we’re ever back in DC ?”

About: As a pet-owner and rover-user myself, I know how important it is to have someone you can trust take care of your pets when you aren't available. I am passionate about giving dogs happy highlights to each and every day, and I love to play with them and take them on long walks to sniff and enjoy the outdoors. As a work-from-home employee, I am often free during work hours to pay your pet a visit or take them on a nice walk to help break up the day while you are away! I can be free on evenings and weekends as well, and would be happy to spend time playing with your pet and giving them happy moments each and every day while they wait for you to return. My dog loves to play indoors, which means I am extra vigilant that the house is safe for him should he get zoomies and run around the furniture. I would be careful to provide that safe environment for your dog as well, in your home or mine.

“Samantha was great with my pup. I had a previous bad experience with a Rover where my dog was pretty shaken up for days after returning. This was not the case with Samantha. She has renewed my faith in Rover. Theo came home tired but happy. I will definitely be using her for future daycare days/overnight stays when I am away.”

“Chynna is such a wonderful pet caregiver! She has gone out of her way to help and accomodate us during a time full of unexpected twists as we help care for our newest grandbaby and 21 mo grandson who broke his leg. She has kept our minds worry free, as she cares for our pup! Highly recommend.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Carla! From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in their care. They are incredibly kind, responsible, and truly have a natural connection with animals. Every update they sent, complete with photos and little stories showed just how happy and well cared for my dog was. Not only did they follow all instructions perfectly, but they also went above and beyond to make sure my pup felt comfortable, loved, and entertained. I came home to a calm, happy dog (and a clean house!), which says everything. If you’re looking for someone you can trust completely with your fur baby, Carla is the one. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again!”

Every time we spoke while he was with her, she would tell me about the new toys/ treats she’d gotten him, or how she’d trained him to do something new! She has a deep love for animals and she is so good with dogs. She is gentle and caring, and there is no one I’d trust more to care for my dog or anyone else’s!!”

Old Town North dog parents share their Rover experiences
Abigail has been a tremendous help with my dog, Oakley, who has separation anxiety, while I am away at work. Oakley is a very shy dog but he opened up to Abigail and her sweet dog Boba almost instantly! Oakley loves getting dropped off with her and I don’t have to worry while I’m away, as I know he’s in good hands. Abigail takes Oakley on frequent walks, provides enrichment toys for Oakley throughout the day, and sends me regular updates and photos. I highly recommend Abigail and Boba and am looking forward to continuing use of her pet sitting services :) Thank you!

Megan has been absolutely wonderful and a treat to work with. She is kind, friendly, and very approachable. One day, my dog, and I were walking in the neighborhood and he brought me to her house because of how much he enjoyed spending time with her and her cutie Nova. Megan has kindly helped us watch and Walk Pinot, and every interaction has been nothing but positive and easy. I am completely at ease when my dog is in her care.
