“Sonnie had a great time. I can tell cause he is tired out and just laying around enjoying a rest . Great rover if you’re using the KOA in Ypsilanti Michigan. Close.”

“Mina did an excellent job taking care of our 4 year old golden retriever, Jerry! She responded quickly and was able to accommodate a last second request, she took perfect care of Jerry, and sent lots of photos and videos. 5 star sitter!!”

“Maria was so great. Got many updates. Even a nice quick one after i left because Molly was a little timid to have me leave, she can be shy at first. I was sad to leave her on her first doggie daycare. But Marie made everything great, she shared multiple pictures that she warmed up and went on walkies and she seemed to have a great time. I hope to make this a weekly occasion! It was nice to be stress free at work.”
“My dogs adore Erin and seem to enjoy spending time at her home. We have used her multiple times for daycare and boarding and she's the best. You can tell she really cares about the animals in her care.”

“Katie was great with our small old dog! She sent several pictures and updates and was clearly very gentle and caring and attentive. We'll definitely be using her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of all of my pets since a very young age. I love every animal I see as if they are my own! Animals bring me so much joy and I wish for them to have the same happiness. I try to pay attention to body language to know what they are telling me especially when we do not know each other yet. I’ve worked as a dog nutritionist at a place called Must Love Dogs (which I certainly do!) I always want to learn more, do more, and constantly be better for the animals in the world even if I’m only able to impact a few. I have experience with dogs who need a lot of support physically (wheelchairs, lift up harnesses, bathroom assistance) as my own German Shepherd needed all of these things later in life. I may have lost count of how many times I was peed on or had to clean the floors, but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. I hope to honor him everyday and share my love with other fur babies as much as I can. My love for animals is endless. My goal is to be able to fill my days with all sorts of animals I can love on and bring joy to. I am available any day or time for drop in visits, playtime, feedings, and walks! I currently have a dog and a cat. I take my dog for walks and try to provide plenty of play time, snuggles, and other forms of enrichment for him every day. My kitty is still young and loves playtime, being brushed, and always wants snuggles in the morning which I am always happy to provide! My pets are my babies and every animal I see automatically becomes a baby. I had a special needs German shepherd who was in a wheelchair and needed a ton of special care and attention. I’m not afraid to do the dirty work that pets need to thrive and be happy whether that’s my own pets or my clients. I’d treat them as my own.
“With my first puppy I quickly became worried i'd never be able to take a vacation. George eased my own separation anxiety and I was comfortable taking my first day trip away from my 8 month old puppy knowing she was safe and cared for.”

“Felt immediately comfortable with Shannon and Oscar and knew that our pup would be in good hands. Their dog got along great with ours, and we picked up a very happy pup at the end of the day. I would absolutely book again and want to give more than 5 stars.”

“Kali had her 2nd daycare stay with Kayden and she had SO much fun! We got lots of pictures of her during her stay which was awesome! Kayden was very kind and professional and experienced! We will definitely bring our Kali girl back!”

About: I have had dogs since I was little, helped my parents walk, feed, bathe, clean up after them. I had my own dog for 12 years. My children also love dogs and love to help with them. I work evenings but while I'm at work my husband is home with our children so someone is always home to take care of your dog. We have a little yard but can offer unlimited potty breaks, clean environment, an area for naps and bedtime. Lots of love from my children to keep them entertained!

About: I’ve always loved spending time with animals, especially dogs! I’ve always had dogs in my house growing up, and when I moved out after college I got a pup of my own :) His name is Tucker and he just turned 3! If I see dogs anywhere, I HAVE to stop and show them some love. I’m working part-time, typically during the morning. My schedule is very flexible and I’m free most of the day throughout the summer! I will do whatever you need me to in order to take care of your pups! Whether they need walking, playing, relaxing, I can do anything!
About: I've had and loved and owned animals my whole life. I have worked at a vet's office, 2 humane societies, and 3 zoos. I used to travel to schools all over the country doing animal programs in schools, libraries, and other events. I've fostered dogs for rescued, and pets sat for friends. I'm retired, so all my attention will go to making your pet(s) feel safe and happy. I will provide stimulating activities and lots of cuddles. I am willing to give baths and do nails. I am experienced at giving medications and handling emergency situations. All toxins are out of reach.
About: I am lifelong dog owner experienced with health needs, medication routines and rescue trauma care. Patient, reliable and deeply commited to loving and attentive care. I work from home from 8am to 5pm, so I’m able to provide regular visits for your pet in the mornings, as well as in the afternoons and evenings. I will keep a close eye on everything in the environment to make sure your pet feels safe and happy during your absence. I’ll keep you updated and send photos regularly.
About: I’ve cared for and have loved dogs for the past 20 years. I have experience with dogs and with diabetes and other special care needs. I’m currently a hybrid worker with a flexible schedule allowing me to work from home anytime. I will communicate with owners if there is any reason I would need to be away from their pet for more than 4 hours. I currently do not have any pets. I live in a second story condo with plenty of walking paths in the neighborhood and a dog park close by. My house is a calm environment for anxious pets.
“Panda came back so-o-o relaxed and happy from Laura and Manuel's. (He was happy to go there, and in no big hurry to come home!) Good amount of feedback of how he spent his day and how he behaved. Their dogs are such a sweet little dog pack for any pup to join! And Laura is so good at putting anxious dogs at ease.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs, cats, horses, and all sorts of pets for most of my life. From Great Danes to Shih Tzus I love all the puppies! I have a miniature bernedoodle and a Shih Tzu currently that I raised from puppies and they are very well behaved. I have watched an older dog who needed liquid IVs and pills and everything went well with him. I currently have three dogs at home. I work part time and can schedule work every week based around what I am doing, so I am pretty much always available as long as it’s about a week in advance. I can be at home as much as needed! I have three friendly dogs (two don’t like to play much but one loves to play) at home and no cats in the house. We do potty breaks every couple of hours which consists of just letting the dogs out in the yard which is not fenced in. Whenever I watch dogs at the house, I am always certain to take the dogs out on leash. If the puppers aren’t the best on leash that’s alright as well, I just use a harness or whatever the owners provide.
About: Hi! I’m TJ (they/he) Since joining Rover in 2022, I’ve cared for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, multi-pet households, and even a bearded dragon. I also have two cats of my own and regularly care for 3 dogs and 4 cats during the week, so pet care is already a big part of my everyday life. Through my experience, I’ve developed a thoughtful and adaptable approach to caring for pets with different personalities, comfort levels, and energy levels. Whether that means keeping up with feeding routines, fresh water, potty breaks, litter box care, playtime, treats, or helping a pet settle down and feel comfortable, I always try to adjust my care to each pet’s individual needs. I also have experience with overnight stays and caring for both dogs and cats in the same home. I pay close attention to behavior and routine, keep the environment clean and low-stress, and communicate with owners if anything comes up so I can care for their pets the way they prefer. I do work late nights most of the week, but I strive to keep my schedule as flexible as possible :) I approach every booking with the same care and dedication I’d want for my own pets, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Please note that while my legal name appears on my profile, I prefer to go by TJ. I’m excited to meet your pets and provide them with personalized, dependable care! I always make sure to spend as much time with my pets as possible and take care of their needs to let them know they are loved:) I have two cats of my own, so I know how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and secure in their environment. Caring for them is part of my everyday routine, from feeding and fresh water to litter box care, attention, and making sure they feel at ease in their space. I’ve also been regularly caring for 3 dogs and 4 cats during the week since July 2025, so I understand the importance of following each pet’s routine carefully and providing dependable, attentive care while their owners are away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 680 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Oakville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Oakville commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 680 sitters in Oakville, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
