“Kate loves spending time with Samantha and Tim. They were so accommodating with our (very) last minute request for boarding. She was very relaxed in the car ride home and seemed as happy as could be!”

“Maribel was so flexible with us and treated our anxious pup like he was her own baby! We had to change plans at last minute and she welcomed Charlie with open arms. She was so wonderful with him and we are so appreciative of her!”

“Excellent experience!! Ashley text photos of our pet and kept us updated since this was our first time using a dog sitter. Our “Bailey” looked happy and content! We anticipate using Ashley again in the future!!”

“Victoria has such a beautiful home. She also is a very warm and kind person. Our dog instantly took to her. We scheduled a sleepover so our dog can get to know her and her dog better before our big trip in a few weeks. It was a great experience. We picked up our dog and she was just so happy. When we left our dog at a kennel before this she did not look well when we picked her up. This was a total different experience, she had a lot of fun and was well taken care of. Victoria was great at sending me updates and a video. I think my dog misses her and her dog lol!!! I'm definitely going to feel better when I leave her for a week knowing she's in good hands. Thank you Victoria”

“First time leaving my dog with anyone other than family so I was anxious to say the least. Thankfully, Ashley was agreeable to a meet and greet before my trip which helped put me at ease. During my trip, she text updates and pics of my girl regularly! This also put me at ease and allowed me to enjoy my time away with friends!”

About: Hello! Jess and Jimmy here. We’ve been taking care of dogs, cats, birds, and all sorts of creatures for over 15+ years. We often foster animals and have experience with all sizes and ages of dogs and cats from puppy/kittens to seniors and chihuahua to huskies. We are very active and one of our favorite activities is counting the cats on our daily dog walks. Jess works from home in the afternoon but has a flexible schedule and her office is only 10 minutes from home if she needs to stop by more often. We make home made treats, frozen enrichments toys, and can provide puzzles, toys, and plenty of enrichment under careful supervisions. Outside, the fenced in backyard is a great place to soak in the sun and get lots of good sniffs. Kip and Carll can’t wait to hang out with their new temporary friends. Jess work’s from home in the afternoons with a flexible schedule. Her office is close by if she needs to stop in. The house also has cameras so she can always check in to make sure the animals are safe. Most mornings start with a potty break, breakfast followed by a walk. Once we’re settled back in pups get an enrichment snack before they settle in for a nap. In the afternoon and evenings we repeat! Potty breaks, walks, toys and dinner, before settling in for the snuggles in the evening. We have a fenced in backyard and 2 very friendly small and medium dogs. Dogs are allowed in all the rooms and on the furniture and bed. There are also dog beds in every room.
“Xariyah blew me away!!! I was so nervous about leaving my baby because I just moved here and he's used to only my family watching him, but I had no other option than to find him a sitter. Xariyah will be his family from now on though because we will definitely be a regular! She treated my baby as if he was her own and he had such an amazing time with her and her kitty. She sent me constant updates and pictures and reassured me after he had a rough first day with anxiety away from me and he was back to his normal self by the next day. I'm beyond happy that I chose her and will definitely be using her again! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much Xariyah!”

“If I could give a 10 outta 5 I would. I literally just rescued Daisy, my 1lb chihuahua, and already had planned a trip home to Ohio. I'm in NC for work, and my closest friend is 3 hours away. I was petrified to leave this new scared baby with a stranger.. We met Amanda and INSTANTLY LOVED HER! I got pics and videos of my sweet tiny tot, and Amanda's dogs were PERFECT FUN AND GENTLE. I will not look for anyone else while I'm here to watch Daisy unless it's am emergency or Amanda is busy..”

“Hannah was so awesome and went above and beyond to make our golden doodle happy. We have a tall 60 lb dog and he got to run and play and rest- just what he needed. I highly recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

About: Hi there! I’m Hannah, a lifelong animal lover who enjoys caring for dogs and cats of all kinds. If my calendar shows I am unavailable, please go ahead and send a request anyway. I am unable to block off time periods of the day, so while I may be busy in the morning, I may be free that evening, and vice versa. Please note that I am moving to Winston Salem at the end of July/beginning of August. Therefore, any requests sent before then, I may not be available for. Drop in visits/walks - I work from home M-F 8-5. I typically can do my drop-in visits in the early morning, on my lunch break, and evenings after work. I can be flexible, though if another time is needed. Just let me know! House sitting - House sitting is similar to my drop-in visits. Breakfast/potty in the morning, lunchtime potty break, and then I'll head to your home after work to spend the evening/overnight with your pet. Please note, I do have a dog of my own who would likely come with me in the evenings for overnight. She is crate/potty trained and always looking for a new friend to play with - even cats! (i have two cats of my own that she grew up with). If you would prefer my dog to not come, thats ok too. Please allow the flexibility to go back and forth to ensure she can potty as well. Boarding - As mentioned above, I do work from home. If you'd like your pet to stay at my home, I can ensure they have consistent, around-the-clock care. I do have a two-story home with baby gates throughout and four bedrooms. If you'd like your pet not to interact with mine, that can be arranged. I treat every pet like family—because they are! Whether your pet loves playtime, belly rubs, long walks, or quiet snuggles, I tailor every visit to their unique needs and personality. You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and always attentive to your pet’s well-being. Whether you’re heading out of town or just need a helping hand, I’m here to make sure your furry friend feels loved and safe while you’re away. Let’s set up a meet & greet—I’d love to learn more about your pet! I am currently working full time and also a full time student. However, I got pretty lucky and do both fully remote which gives me the freedom to do other things such as pet sitting. If my calendar shows I am unavailable, please go ahead and send a request anyway. I am unable to block off time periods of the day, so while I may be busy in the morning, I may be free that evening, and vice versa. PLEASE NOTE **** I do have a dog of my own. If you are requesting a house sitting stay, please keep in mind that I will need to either come and go from your home to care for my own dog or have my dog with me during the house sitting stay. She is friendly with other dogs, cats, and is crate/potty trained. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. I follow your instructions closely and keep their routine as normal as possible—whether that means sticking to a specific feeding schedule, giving medications, or making time for their favorite games and walks.
“Starla was amazing! Will definitely use her again. My baby Twinkle had the time of her life. Starla is amazing with communication, sent daily pics and videos. Definitely the best! Thank you so much 🩷😊”

“Thomas was awesome. He was easily accessible and responsive, provided me daily updates and videos of my fur baby and gave her lots of exercise and snuggles. Highly recommended!!”

About: I had my first furry friend when I was 18 against my mom’s will and everyone knows how the story ends right?! Yes she was calling herself grandma after the first week. I’m married now and we have 2 kids, waffles and pancake, yes we love breakfast food. Playing and going for walks aside from giving them love is my skill, they are also here for one lifetime experience so they do deserve to get all the love that they give us. I am currently working full time but I have a lot of flexibility throughout the day, I’m mostly looking to help around the weekends or evening care after 5pm 7 days a week. We live in an apartment, our cat goes on walks once a day and I would be happy to care for your pet in your home as well.
“After a few failed attempts with other dog sitters, we came to Rover to find someone who truly loves and cares for pups. We definitely found it with Karyssa and her family. They loved on our sweet boy just like we would. He came home worn out, like he’d been away at summer camp! I loved the daily pictures and updates, it helped with being away from our pup! We definitely recommend Karyssa, and will be booking again on our next trip.”

“Loren truly loves Mia and took very good care of her. She is reliable and flexible. It was very easy to communicate with her. I also appreciated her daily update photos. Thank you Loren!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Crest
Carson was such a great sitter for my Milano!! She sent pics and updates everyday, made me feel really safe and extra assured that she was taking good care of my baby. Her dogs were also very welcoming so they made him feel right at home! Definitely recommend her!!

Eloise was an Angel sent from above. Dogsitter cancelled a day before my trip and Eloise was more than happy to help me, she sent me Daily updates, kept me informed, and treated my Dog like royalty. So much so my dog was kinda sad to come home which broke my heart but I am so happy she had a great time. I will 100% be booking for next trip Thanks a million guys 🌸

The sitter we originally booked wasn’t able to care for our girls because of a change in her work schedule so I had to find someone else ASAP. It was a last-minute request and I’m so glad we found Leah! Since we don’t board them very often, Yuzu especially was super nervous at first and got a little naughty. But by the end, she completely fell in love with Leah. Thank you so much for taking such good care of them!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Oak Crest home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Oak Crest.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Oak Crest sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
