“Katherine did an amazing job with Presley! Presley is an anxious little pup but took well to Katherine. Katherine sent us pictures and kept us posted throughout her stay. We will definitely be using Katherine again in the future!”

About: I’m a mom of two, and I have two Maltese of my own, so I know how much our pets mean to us. I genuinely love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going for walks, playing, or just giving them lots of attention and cuddles. I’ll care for your dog like they’re part of my own family, and I’ll make sure you get plenty of updates and photos so you can relax while you’re away. I work from home full-time and have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely run, play, and enjoy the outdoors. I love spending time outside with them, whether we’re playing in the yard or taking a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. Because I work from home, I also offer flexible drop-in visits and dog walks before work, during my lunch break, or after my workday. Whether your pup needs a potty break, some exercise, playtime, or a little extra love while you’re away, I’m happy to help! I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely play, and I can crate your dog if needed. Since I work from home full-time, your dog will never be left alone for long and will receive lots of attention and care throughout the day. I also offer drop-in visits and dog walks before work, during my lunch break, and after work to fit your schedule.
“My dogs enjoyed their stay with Vinny today! They played tug and ran together. He is detail-oriented, responsive, flexible, and, most importantly, he loves dogs. We are so lucky to have found him✌️”

“Tammy and her family are great dog sitters. I feel at ease whenever we leave our Woody with them for the day. They make sure to keep him entertained and cared for during his stays. I would recommend Tammy for anyone's doggie daycare needs.”

About: What sets us apart is how much we genuinely love dogs. We are dog parents ourselves, so we understand how much trust it takes — and how worrying it can feel — to leave your dog in someone else’s care. For us, dog sitting is more than just feeding and walking. We love spending time with them, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. Because we know how much owners miss and worry about their dogs, we always try to send photo updates in the morning and evening so you can see how your pup is doing and feel at ease. We have hands-on experience caring for different breeds, including Samoyeds, Weimaraners, Shetland Sheepdogs, and Golden Retrievers. Since we have friendly and social dogs of our own, we carefully supervise all interactions and focus on creating a safe and positive environment for every dog. We follow each dog’s routine closely and give them the attention, care, and love they deserve. On days I accept bookings, I’m home all day to give dogs my full attention, provide close supervision, and make sure they get plenty of walks and care. I provide a calm, safe, and dog-friendly environment in my home. All dogs are closely supervised, especially during playtime and interactions with other dogs. I carefully follow each dog’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, and rest time. Because I am a dog owner myself, I understand how important safety and trust are. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, secure, and cared for like a member of our family.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. Our dogs are like children to us. Now, as we work from home and have a big yard, we have the ideal setup for happy, safe dogs—and want to share it with your fur baby! Stay at Penny’s House - We’ve raised our 3-year-old mini poodle to be a happy, gentle and well-rounded pup. She loves to play and cuddle, and gets along very well with other dogs and cats! She’s a great hostess. - Our home is very loving and safe. Someone is always around to give cuddles and love, plenty of cozy places to hang out, and hazards are always out of reach. - We have a fully fenced, big backyard where your beloved fur baby can play fetch and get out all their zoomies frequently and safely. It's also covered in grass and shaded by large trees, so don't worry about hot summer days! - We don't anticipate anything happening, but just in case, rest assured because our home is only *one block* away from an excellent animal hospital! - We’ll do our best to make sure that your little buddy will feel loved and at home here, getting the same level of care you like to provide to them. - We’ve had senior dogs and a dog with diabetes, so we are very careful and will always give attention to detail to adapt to their needs, whether it be diet, exercise, attention, or anything else. We read ingredients and will follow your instructions carefully. - We will keep you updated with photos and videos so you know they’re safe and having a good time. - ¡Se habla español! Si tu perrito se siente más cómodo que le hable en español, solo díganos cuáles comandos utilizan. It’s hard to find someone to trust with your pet; we found this out the hard way. So we hope our home can be the place you rely on to feel safe leaving your little bundle. REQUIREMENTS: We’re flexible and easygoing. But because we want everyone to have a good, safe time, we do have a couple of requirements: 1) We require a meet-and-greet for all new clients before a stay to make sure our dog and yours get along well. 2) Your dog must be up-to-date on all vaccines: rabies, bordatella, lepto, etc. Because we work from home, we are available at home to take care of your little buddy full time for boarding and daycare at our home. A fully-enclosed, shaded backyard for zoomies and lots of walks around our safe, dog-friendly, and tree-lined neighborhood. Your fur baby will be under our supervision throughout the day and will get frequent trips to the yard and lots of time to play. We're also happy to walk your dog as often as you need. We’re always happy to be flexible with your schedule to accommodate both your and your dog’s needs.
“Essence is a lifesaver. She watched my 3 year old dog who has separation anxiety for several days while I had long days of work. Every day my dog would refuse to walk home and was so excited to go back! She sent so many pictures of him taking many adventures, even taking him to the beach! She's very responsive and it was a huge relief to me to know my dog was safe and having a great time. I could not recommend her more.”

“Evelyn and her husband took such great care of our pup, Weller. They were responsive, sent us photos, and were flexible with our schedules. Weller really seemed to get along with their dogs and I know she is looking forward to her next play date at their house. We will absolutely book Evelyn again! Thank you both so much!”

“I had such a wonderful experience with Corey and Stephanie! They took amazing care of my dog and truly treated her like she was one of their own. They kept me updated multiple times throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was safe, happy, and being well cared for. I especially appreciated how attentive they were to her comfort around the other dogs at daycare. They made sure she felt safe and even took the time to walk her separately so she could have some one-on-one attention. That really showed me how much they genuinely care about each dog and their individual needs. Corey and Stephanie are incredibly kind, friendly, and clearly have a genuine love for dogs. I felt completely comfortable leaving my girl in their care, and I will absolutely be booking with them again. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for people who will care for your dog as if they were their own! 🐾❤️”

“Yuri took on my request last-minute. She watched my cat during the daytime at her home while construction work was being done at mine. She is friendly, communicative, and took good care of my kitty!”

“Diane did an absolutely perfect job taking care of our Brittany cokie. Super sweet and caring and her little dog was a great companion to ours. They had a fantastic time together, and she loved every minute of it. We went back the next day, and our dog was wagging her tail and excited to go in. Thank you so much Diane for your great work! Michael.”

“We appreciate how attentive Vivian and her husband Ronnie has been in monitoring our dogs stool as he’s been having some intestinal issues as of late. It feels like it’s truly a team effort to ensure he has the best care possible. This is one of the many reasons why we continue to choose Vivian to watch our dog.”

“Jolly sitter, Ms. Lee is an high- level expert to take care of dog as a dog mom. Already jolly miss her. I'm so jealous for her. Even she made me relived to send pictures & videos. Next occasions for Jolly, I will choose her again! Thanks lee & Rover. You are my saviour!”

“We had a great experience with Chris! Milo was well cared for, and it was clear he was comfortable and happy during his stay. Communication was excellent throughout the day, with updates and photos that gave us peace of mind. The meet and greet process was easy, Chris was very kind, and attentive to Milo’s needs. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter! 🐾💕”

“Nosa was super super accommodating with my schedule, Roxy loves being with Nosa and he treats her so so well. I highly recommend Nosa and will definitely be sending Roxy to Nosa again!!!!”

About: I have two siblings with a rescue dog each and I have been the go-to auntie to dogsit for them for years. Anytime anyone’s need to go on a trip, Auntie’s got them 💪. I work from home and have a flexible schedule so I can give them the attention, the cuddles, the walks, and the treats they need to be absolutely cared for. I work a remote job from 9-5. It’s not demanding so I have lots of flexibility. I will do walks in the mornings and evenings and can fit in a fun one in the afternoon for a little nature enrichment. Meal times are how the dog parents want. They can have access to my furniture and bed. I see myself as their auntie and they will be treated with the best love and care. My apartment is right next to a train so there will be loud train noises every few hours. I’m hoping this doesn’t spook the babies but please keep that mind.

As of August 2026, there are 11,150 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Northvale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Northvale commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 11,150 sitters in Northvale, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
