“Ashley is a blessing. When we met I felt like she was part of the family. She paid close attention to details, checked in often, and took excellent care of my dog.”

“Another fabulous house/pet sitting by Brittany. Per usual everything went great and smoothly. She kept up informed and up to date. Gracie gave her some challenges, but Brittany handled them with ease. We really appreciate all she does. We are looking forward to our next booking in April. Thanks so very much! Jan”

About: I provide a calm, loving home environment where dogs feel safe and cared for. I pay close attention to each dog’s routine, energy level, and personality. I’m experienced with daily walks, feeding schedules, and giving extra patience and gentle care to puppies and senior dogs Pet care fits into my daily routine easily. I organize my day around feeding, walks, and playtime, and I make sure they get attention and care throughout the day I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible. In my home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. I provide feeding on schedule, regular walks, playtime, and lots of attentive care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to make sure they are happy and well cared for

“Sharon was awesome throughout the whole process! She communicated great, gave me updates multiple times a day and took great care of my dog. I will definitely keep her in mind for future times that I travel.”

About: I have over 7 years of experience caring for a variety of animals, from energetic family dogs to my own cat, Charlie. My background isn't just in the basics; I’m experienced in administering medication, managing specific dietary schedules, and providing high-energy exercise for larger breeds. As a student at VWU, I have a predictable weekly routine that allows me to offer consistent early morning, mid-day, and evening visits. Because I live/study locally, I’m able to be flexible with my timing between classes and can easily accommodate last-minute requests or regular daily check-ins. When caring for pets in your home, I prioritize maintaining their familiar routine and ensuring your space remains secure. I treat every home with the utmost respect, staying diligent about locking up and keeping areas clean. During our time together, your pet has my full attention—whether we’re on a walk or playing indoors—and I’m happy to provide frequent photo updates so you have total peace of mind while you're away.
“Sarah did a great job taking care of my pups, she spent lots of time with them and left the house clean and tidy for when we got home. Hopefully we can have her stay again.”

“Teijah did a great job. She made regular stops through the day like I requested. My dog is a little timid with strangers and even more so when I’m not there but Teijah gave her space and made sure she was fed, watered and let out to potty regularly. Would use her house sitting service again.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a kid, of all types. My most recent breed was a Saint Bernard/Great Pyrenees. I’ve had other large breeds, small breeds as well. I have training in ABA, and I know what it’s like to trust a stranger with your family. As an active duty sailor, I am on shore duty and have found myself with more free time than I could’ve ever imagined. Take those weekend trips you’ve been putting off, and know your doggo is in good hands with me Weekends (Friday-Sunday) are likely the best, but with advanced scheduling I can do during the week as well. If local to Virginia Beach or Norfolk, drop ins are not a problem at all. If you want your dog to stay home, house sitting is an option as well I live in a two bedroom apartment that’s pretty spacious and has vinyl flooring. I am only a few hundred feet from a dog park The community is very dog friendly, and your canine family will have no shortage of friends during their visit
“Look no further for a responsible, caring and phenomenal pet sitter. Anastasia took care of our home, German shepherd, cat, and fish while we were gone halfway around the world to Africa for over a week. She sent us pictures every day, ensuring our peace of mind so we could enjoy our travel. I cannot recommend her highly enough - she is the best you will ever find out there!!”
About: I’ve pet sitting since middle school and I’ve grown up rehabilitating dogs and cats with my mom so I know all the ins and outs! I just moved to the area so I’m currently working part time at a retail store. Feel free to send me a message and we can discuss further about my availability! I make sure that all pets get attention and love for at least 20-30 minutes and then we all go outside for a potty break and don’t forget the treats as well!
“Amazing! Gave us such relief about our fur babies being cared for while we were on a longer Europe trip! Definitely recommend. Sends updates and photos, which are so appreciated. My dogs LOVED her.”

About: Hi, my name is Laura. I am a full-time government contractor and a yoga instructor on the side. My work schedule offers flexibility, and I value reliability, clear communication, and attention to detail — all of which I bring into the care of your home and your pets. I grew up with both cats and dogs and have cared for them throughout all stages of life, from early years through senior care. I have experience with high-energy dogs as well as pets who need a slower, more attentive approach. At this time, I’m not able to welcome a new pet into my own home, but I genuinely enjoy caring for animals in their familiar environment while their humans are away. I treat every visit with intention, patience, and respect — for both your pet and your space. I offer in-home care, including: • Dog walking and drop-in visits • Feeding, playtime, and companionship • Medication administration when needed • Plant care and home check-ins (watering plants, collecting mail/packages, opening blinds, and general wellness checks) Whether it’s caring for your pet, your plants, or your home while you’re traveling, I aim to provide peace of mind through thoughtful, consistent care and photo updates. I’m primarily available for pet care and home check-ins from Thursday through Monday. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays my availability is more limited due to evening yoga classes, but I can still accommodate select visits with advance notice. I prioritize safety, consistency, and respect for each pet’s routine and home. I follow instructions carefully, maintain secure entry and exits, and provide calm, attentive care in your home.

About: Dogs are just the best! I had a furbaby (Labrador) of my own for 14 years and have been around puppies, seniors, and those with special needs. I am a former volunteer with the Humane Society. I enjoy going for walks with a pup and am happy to look after any plants or kitties also. When doing sits in your home you can count on me to be clean and respectful of your place. I would care for your pet like I would my own. I will make sure to give them attention regularly. I enjoy going on hikes and will take your pup with me when I go if you would like. I will do my best to maintain the routine that your pets are accustomed to. They will get 2-3 walks a day plus additional potty breaks.
About: I've had a deep love for dogs since childhood, and my passion has only grown over the years. I currently have a miniature labradoodle named Finn, whom I've potty trained, taught a variety of tricks, and worked with on behavioral improvement. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience at Doggstuff, a local pet store, where I had the opportunity to learn dog training techniques directly from a professional trainer. I'm also well-prepared to handle any emergency situation involving dogs, ensuring they are safe and well cared for at all times. My combination of personal experience and professional training sets me apart as a reliable and knowledgeable pet sitter. As a college student with a flexible schedule, I have plenty of availability during both weekdays and weekends. I’m free from Thursday to Sunday and can accommodate overnight visits during this time. On weekdays, I’m available outside of my class hours: - Monday: 2:00-5:00 AND 7:30-10:00 PM - Tuesday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM - Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM During the week, I can provide both short and long walks based on your pet’s needs. Weekends are perfect for extended overnight stays, so you can rest easy knowing your dog is in good hands! For overnight visits and walks, my priority is always the safety, comfort, and well-being of your dog. When caring for pets in your home, I make sure to maintain their routine and environment as closely as possible. I create a secure and calm atmosphere, ensuring your dog feels at ease while you’re away. For walks, I tailor the length and intensity to your dog’s energy level and preferences, whether it's a leisurely stroll or a more active outing. I also stay alert to their body language and surroundings to avoid any potential hazards. I’m committed to building trust with both you and your pet, offering constant updates and staying available for any questions you may have during the service. Whether it’s overnight or a simple walk, I treat your dog as my own—providing love, attention, and care throughout the entire visit.
“Hailey is the BEST! She was incredibly flexible with us as we were traveling for medical reasons and didn't know the exact dates until last minute. She took great care of our fur baby and home, sent lots of pictures, and is very communicative. We felt like our dog got her very own staycation while we were away! 10/10 recommend!”

Northeast pet parents share their Rover experiences
Chris was so great with our Bowie! This was his first time with him and he was able to meet him prior to our trip! Chris was extremely responsive and gave Bowie a wonderful experience! Was our first time working with him but it won’t be our last! Thank you Chris!

Mary was great house sitting and watching my two high energy dogs (Aussies)! She did daily walks as well as playing in the back yard + was able to accommodate their special needs (prescription food for one and chewable meds for the other). I would absolutely recommend her as a dog walker or sitter as she loved my dogs a whole lot.

Maya is fantastic - excellent communication, very reliable and most importantly, takes great care of my dogs. She really went above and beyond to work with one of my dogs who is nervous around new people. I highly recommend Maya and will definitely work with her again!

Absolutely amazing sitter! Great communication, followed all instructions perfectly, bonded with our dogs, and sent tons of picture updates. Jackie is naturally friendly, but Jelly Bean has anxiety/OCD and is afraid of strangers — and she handled both of them so patiently and kindly. The fact that Jelly Bean felt comfortable says everything. We came home to happy pups and couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend and will 100% book again!

Jessica was great with our GoldenDoodle Sammy. We were going out of town for a week over Christmas. Our usual sitter had to cancel last minute and I was panicked! I contacted Rover and Jessica was available. He usually is wary of new people but he instantly loved her. She came and took him out and played with him in the back yard for an hour 4X a day! It was really cold outside so we were impressed by her dedication. She took lots of pics and they were amazing! She could go into professional photography. All in all we had a great experience and would love to use her again in the future.

Rachel was amazing! She stayed at our house to watch Minnie, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She took such great care of her and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout our trip. We came home to a happy pup and a spotless house — it was clear Minnie got lots of love and attention. We’d absolutely have Rachel stay again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!

Megan was absolutely wonderful. She took such good care of my dog, Lola. Lola gets separation anxiety. However, with Megan she was great. Megan sent daily pictures and updates on how Lola was doing. Which relieved a lot of my own anxiety. I felt so comfortable with Megan taking care of Lola. I highly recommend Megan to care of your pup(s).

Lesley was a wonderful pet sitter. Our pups loved having her stay out our house and we had peace of mind knowing our fur babies were well taken care of while we were away. She even shared cute photos and videos! We highly recommend Lesley and will definitely schedule her again for our next trip.

WOW! Just... Wow! This dog sitter went well beyond dog sitting and probably took better care of our home and dogs than we do. There's so many reasons to recommend Megan. Our dogs had long walks, tons of attention and I think they miss her already. Our plants are better off than they were, our home is a bit cleaner (and it was already pretty dang clean) and even our hummingbird feeder got it's daily cleaning and refill. Definitely, absolutely, 100% - book her while you can. She's amazing.
