I realized one of the biggest concerns for travelers was their dogs and the thought of having to use kennel services. Since I have the ability to be with the dogs all day it made sense to offer my home and a family setting. Our dog Sweety sleeps with us at night and so do our guest dogs. Unless that isn’t happening at home. The dogs we care for are like family during their visit. We live in a very private setting. While we don’t have fencing, we do have a large private yard on a private dirt road. We live on 5 acres.

About: We have always had pets in our home. Besides our own, we regularly watch our neighbors animals as well (dogs and cats). We recently had to say goodbye to our special needs dogs. So we have lots of experience and patience. Both my wife and I work from home so are very flexible with our schedule. With 2 adults and 2 teens/preteens your animal will get all the attention it deserves. We have a very accommodating house with a fenced in yard. Your animal is not limited in our house, we treat them like they are our own. We go on frequent outdoor activities. Hikes, walks, bike rides... Depending on your animals level of activity we would love for them to join us. We have experience with crate trained animals, as well as those that are more of the free range type. We recently had to say goodbye to our dog of 16years, and are looking to share our family with yours. We have a lot of experience with special needs dogs. So your companion will be in good hands.

About: My entire life has always revolved around animals. As a lifelong equestrian, I’ve grown up taking care of horses and dogs of all shapes and sizes. Previously a barn manager, I’m now a pet & equine photographer. That means when I’m not at a horse show or photoshoot, I’m at my desk at home with my own two senior dogs curled underneath. My years in the horse world and now with senior dogs has taught me how to apply topical medication, give injections and oral meds, and how to recognize and redirect problematic behavior. Living on 15 wooded acres set back from the road means there is plenty of space for pups to run around as well as numerous off leash walking trails should your pup be up for it. Staying with me is like a country retreat for your pet - walks through the forest and sunsets and squirrel watching from the deck. If you're lucky, you might even get some professional photos out of it. As a self-employed pet photographer, I work from home when I’m not at a horse show or photo shoot. This gives me lots of flexibility day to day and during the day. I like to let dogs approach me as they feel comfortable and understand that dogs are capable of a wide range of personalities. My number one priority is that everyone feels safe and has their needs met. In my home, well behaved and responsive dogs may be allowed off-leash outside as we have plenty of space far from the nearest road. Dogs that can’t be trusted off leash will enjoy wooded walks around the property or nearby dog-friendly trails.
