Over: We recently moved to Amsterdam from Minneapolis, USA. I am a dog lover for sure. Today I have an 8 month Yorkie who loves playing with other puppies. I enjoy teaching her new tricks and taking her for walks for her to explore the world. Would love to take care of another dog as it would make me and my puppy happy. I take care of my own dog, therefore taking care of another dog will be quite easy. I do frequent bathroom breaks and walks to help with energy. Over: I’ve taken care of my cat since I was 14 years old. Also, I’ve taken care of my cousin’s and aunt’s dogs whenever they were going on vacation. Already three years since I started to take care of other dogs and cats here in Amsterdam. I am currently working full time at a hotel. I have different shifts during the week, such a as morning and late, but I can be flexible if needed to take care of a furry friend. To take care of my furry friends, I play with them a lot, I like to talk to them, pet them and also going for a walk, give them treats from time to time, if the parents have a nice yard I love to play catch the ball and never get tired of it.

Over: I've been caring for cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, we had three family dogs and a cat, and by the time I was 21, my family had taken in seven stray dogs. Living with them was one of the happiest periods of my life. I miss them dearly and would love the opportunity to spend time with and care for pets here in Amsterdam as well. I really love being around animals and making sure they feel safe, cosy, and cared for 💛 I’m available for boarding on Fridays and weekends, and they’re also welcome to stay with me during the week. I’m happy to pick them up around Amsterdam Zuid if Uithoorn is a bit far for you, as I work in Amsterdam :) I don’t currently have any animals of my own. Over: Hi, I’m Julia! I’m 27 years old, born and raised on a Swedish farm and now studying a Masters in Communication Science at UvA. I’m fluent in English, Dutch and Swedish (I can teach your dog some ;) ) Ever since I can remember I’ve been a big fan of dogs. I’ve had dogs around me my whole life, I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and have in my later teens helped raised two Kangals. I have a lot of understanding and respect for dogs, both big and small. Lately I’m sitting my brothers Cane Corso Enzo, he is a puppy who needs a lot of training, and I’m up for the challenge! Apart from my experience and love for animals, I am an active person who walks a lot, I love being in nature and I would say I have a lot of patience. Whether it’s an older dog who needs a slower pace, or an active dog who needs a long power walk, I’m up for it! Since I am a student at the UvA, some mornings and afternoons are blocked out, but also some days are totally free for me. I’ll be honest and say that my schedule might change every 2 months with new courses, but mostly I am busy 3 days of the week. Still, everyday I stay active by going on a walk in Amsterdamse bos, going to the gym or biking. I love to cook and to relax with my boyfriend at home (he is also crazy about dogs!) I live in an apartment of roughly 95 m2, with a big living room and a large balcony (with a serious fence). We keep it clean with fresh air flowing. We live 3 minutes walking from the Amsterdamse Bos, it’s a national treasure and a dog heaven! My boyfriend and I live together have the same philosophy: nobody has died from a dog on the couch. But the of course, if your dog is not used to being on furniture, we will respect his/her boundaries ;) I will be as strict or relaxed as the dog needs me to be, I am a flexible dog sitter.

Over: I grew up as a teenager with a golden retriever and every time I go back to Paris at my dad's, I happily take over the full routine: feeding, walking, playing, brushing hair and teeth… I walk very consistently on a daily basis, rain or shine, so a dog who wants/needs long walks has found the right sitter. This love for dogs actually goes way back: as a kid I used to walk the neighbor's dog just for the joy of it, sneaking in extra rounds whenever I could after school. So this isn't a new hobby for me, it's something I've genuinely loved my whole life. Good with big (25kg max) and small dogs! I’m working for freelance as an artist. I work mostly from home with a steady routine. I go for a long walk every morning and evening, and can also incorporate a mid day walk very easily! I live in a studio appartement with concrete floor that is very easy to clean. I have a balcony that is safe for small dogs as well, and of course enough space for setting up a dog bed in the living room !

Over: I have had pets of my own since I was 10 and since then I have been always connected to animals. During my teenager years, I was always involved with institutions related to dogs and cats. I’m currently working from home, so I have plenty of availability to spend time with your puppy or to go for a walk in the middle of the day. I've also provided boarding for longer stays, including pets who have stayed with me for two to three weeks at a time. Over: I’ve been surrounded by animals all my life, getting to bond easily with them, specially dogs… I’ve been cat, dog and bird sitting all around the world. My daily goal is to walk 10.000 steps a day, so I am taking walking breaks from work and is the way that I start and finish my day. It would even better to walk with a dog. I make sure they have water and food when needed and walk the dogs after each meal and always find the best stick to play. With cats I clean the litter every day and brush their hair if they have it long. I would try to keep their owners rules at mine but if they convince me to be on my couch with puppy eyes it won’t be my fault.

Over: Many of my friends and neighbours come to me for pet sitting - dogs and cats. I send them pictures every day, and the owners often say that their pets look so happy with me!! I'm gentle while firm, and will help your little animal stick to the rules and training, while giving them so much love that they deserve. I also have experience taking care of rabbits, guinea pigs, and parakeets. I work from home fully, so very flexible with my schedule and open to adapting to the needs of your little one. A typical schedule - 08:00 - a morning leg stretch; 12:00 - a bit of running in the neighbourhood park; 18:00 - a digestive walk to the lush dog park; 22:00 - a chill evening stroll.
