“Our dogs spent a week with Steve and had such a lovely time! Steve was very easy to work with and took great care of our pups. Also, if you have a pet with special needs (one of our girls is partially paralyzed and the other needs eye drops twice a day) I would absolutely recommend Steve.”

“Jennifer took great care of Darby, which really put my mind at ease. She didn't do well at dog boarding, and Jennifer was the solution to our worries! We'll definitely book again!”

“We left Zane with Teresa for over a week. It was his first time away from home and she made it easy for him. He came home happy and adjusted well. Will definitely use again!”

“Kelsey is the best. Brew loves going to hang with her and her family. She always makes sure to send pictures and keep me updated. Shes super flexible and understanding when my schedule changes a bit. I am so thankful we found her. Leaving my furbaby is easier because I know he is loved and cared for as if I am there. Thanks Kelsey!”

“Nadia takes such great care of our dog! She sends fun little updates so we always know how she’s doing. You can tell she really loves caring for pets and treats them like her own!”

“Shelia and her family are the best sitters ever!! They truly love dogs and take the best care of your pet. She will love your pup like it her own and is a genuinely wonderful person. I hope I never have to use anyone else. ?”
“Cheryl did a wonderful job with Lady. She kept us informed with daily pictures and comments. A plus rating. We will definitely use her as our primary dog sitter and highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I’ve been a cat owner for about four years and have had a corgi in my life for the past year. I genuinely love animals and enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and routines. I work from home, which gives me lots of flexibility and allows me to provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and cuddles throughout the day. I work remotely from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the day. I’m only in the office on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. I’ll care for your pet like I would my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. I’m happy to follow their usual routine and any special instructions so they can feel right at home.
“Cassandra was amazing!! Not only was she accommodating for our last minute boarding request but she sent pictures and checked in throughout the week. The dogs were clearly well taken care of and happy. We will absolutely book again in the future!”

“Absolutely phenomenal to work with send me tons of pictures and videos and was constantly telling me how it is going, which helped with missing him I will be using multiple times in the future”

“Tamber was attentive and informative during Miles' first stay. We loved her daily reports and concerns that Miles was as comfortable as possible while in her home. Thank you Tamber so much for everything. You are a gift.”

“Davon & his wife took AMAZING care of our sweet cat, Olive. They updated me daily, with photos included. They were extremely kind and very easy to communicate with. Also very prompt to respond to any messages. They did such a great job with Olive, we will definitely rebook with them if we need a pet sitter in the future. (:”

About: A dog has always been in my house growing up, except when I moved to lawrence to go to school/work. I learned to take care of dogs since I could walk. My first dog was a German Shepard. I learned how to brush, clean, feed, and exercise around 6 years old and have loved dogs ever since. From middle school until now I had a side gig of watching extended family/ friends dogs for the weekends, so I have worked with all types of dogs such as pit bulls, labs, Rottweilers, shorthairs, boxers, huskies, and I also have experience with small dog breeds such as pugs, terrors, mini poodles, and chihuahuas. So don’t worry about what breed of dog you have I am open to all kinds!

“This was my first time using this app, so I was really nervous. So happy I did it! Kyra was awesome! I was able to enjoy the day knowing Mimie was in good hands. Kyra even sent pics of Mimie having fun. Kyra went above and beyond. I will be using Kyra again for sure!”

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Newman can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Newman home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Newman.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KS ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
