“We can’t recommend Colter enough! He took wonderful care of our Corgi Saffron for two stays recently. One overnight and one 6 night stay. He communicates promptly and his home has been very clean each time we’ve been there. Saffron had never been anywhere overnight and she was excited to see him when we took her the second time and we’ve already booked another stay with him. His dog Rumi is very calm and sweet.”

“If I were a dog, I would think i won the lottery if I got to visit this paradise and meet Marilyn!! My Rusty was absolutely joyous while he was there. Which is unusual as he typically goes into a deep depression when I leave him.”

“Chelsea and her family were wonderful with our dogs. We would definitely use them again. They sent us updates and pictures on our pets which were very comforting. Would recommend them to anyone”

“I am so glad we found Kelsey and her family! Our dog Buddy stayed for 8 nights and I was afraid our already spoiled pup wouldn’t want to come home :-) Kelsey sent us photos and videos of him having a great time getting lots of attention and love. It’s such a relief to know someone that can watch our baby when we are out of town!!”

“This is our second boarding with Lauren for our German Shepherd puppy and this day was wonderful for our dog and us. Lauren is great with communication and updates and our puppy loves spending time with her and her dogs. Highly recommend Lauren! She’s made being a new pet owner so much easier knowing we can entrust our puppy to someone loves him like her own!”

“Daisy loves to stay with Regan! And I know I don't have to worry while she's there. I get updates and photos everyday and I know Daisy is well taken care of. I highly recommend Regan.”

“Valentine was so kind and easy to work with. I could tell she really cared about my dog and took lots of care to make sure she got along with the other pets in the home. She is flexible and so communicative too!”

About: I’ve been a cat owner for about four years and have had a corgi in my life for the past year. I genuinely love animals and enjoy getting to know their individual personalities and routines. I work from home, which gives me lots of flexibility and allows me to provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, walks, and cuddles throughout the day. I work remotely from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the day. I’m only in the office on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. I’ll care for your pet like I would my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. I’m happy to follow their usual routine and any special instructions so they can feel right at home.
“Magen was able to fit us in last minute, sent regular updates and pictures, and took such great care of our Ralphie when he was away. We will definitely be back! Thank you!”

“Tamber was attentive and informative during Miles' first stay. We loved her daily reports and concerns that Miles was as comfortable as possible while in her home. Thank you Tamber so much for everything. You are a gift.”

“I was so nervous about leaving my dog with someone I didn’t know while I was out of town, but Paige completely put my mind at ease! She was amazing! She kept me updated with lots of photos and videos, which made being away so much easier, and I could tell my pup was having the best time. She was also incredibly flexible with my last minute booking, and I truly appreciated that. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I’ll definitely be booking with Paige again. Highly recommend!”

“Davon was very friendly and accommodating. He made sure our girl had everything she needed to be comfortable, and took great care of her. She didn't want to leave, haha! If we're in the area again, we'll definitely choose them again for boarding or pet sitting.”

About: A dog has always been in my house growing up, except when I moved to lawrence to go to school/work. I learned to take care of dogs since I could walk. My first dog was a German Shepard. I learned how to brush, clean, feed, and exercise around 6 years old and have loved dogs ever since. From middle school until now I had a side gig of watching extended family/ friends dogs for the weekends, so I have worked with all types of dogs such as pit bulls, labs, Rottweilers, shorthairs, boxers, huskies, and I also have experience with small dog breeds such as pugs, terrors, mini poodles, and chihuahuas. So don’t worry about what breed of dog you have I am open to all kinds!
About: In my day job I am a home health/ Hospice assistant so I not only have experience taking care of people I also take care of people's fur babies when they are unable to. I also grew up with dogs so there is not a day that goes by in 25 years I have not taken care of a furry friend I currently work monday through friday 730am to 330 pm so afternoons and weekends are when I am most avaliable, and over nights as needed. I have vast knowledge of walking safety, leash control/safety, environmental triggers, and the importance of hydration and rest. When pet setting, I like to have a secure outdoor/ yard area, i stick to the owner and dogs set routine, and I like to respect that I am a guest in the animals home

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Thompsonville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Thompsonville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Thompsonville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KS ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
