Jessica is great with my Australian Shepherd, in the summer she’s taken him on walks in the park and in the winter she’s considerate of the conditions so he doesn’t get hurt! She also always checks his water and gives him some attention which I know my little guy loves! Thank you for taking care of my Aussie, I really appreciate it!

Elena is such a lifesaver! She walks our Chihuahua mix (13 lbs) and our Great Pyrenees-Poodle mix (~70 lbs) with such a loving touch! We have hired her weekly, because we love having her support!

About: I have cared for my family pets since I was 12. I bathed, trimmed nails, fed and administered medication to them at any time it was needed. I’ve become really fond of animal care as I’ve grown. I have worked at a pet store for about 3 years and have a good understanding of body language and the patience for animals who may need a little time to warm up. I currently work at a dog groomers in the morning to late afternoons. I don’t have a set schedule so my days change often but I’m always open to communication and working things out to accomplish what we need. I have a open floor plan in my home. Other pets to keep them company as well. I always say no one knows your dog better than you and I fully stand by it. I want to keep your pet in as normal, healthy and happy environment as possible. Any directions or tips on your pet care are always appreciated. <3

Kyla came and walked one of our two dogs with me for the last 3 days since I needed a hand wrangling dogs and a toddler for walks. She was a fantastic help and we had great conversation during our walks. Prior to this Kyla did some pet sitting for our cat and was wonderful. We’ll definitely be reaching out again in the future.

Margaret was so wonderful to our baby Bruno! She was punctual in showing up to walk him, communicated with both the house/dog sitter and us while we were on our two week trip. She communicated with us almost daily and included some pics as well. Our dog seemed very happy to be with her as well for his walks. Would highly recommend this reliable and wonderful person!

Daisy suggested to me the other day that Harley is not a huge fan of walking in the dark so I got her a glow-in-the-dark collar and it was a huge success for my dog. It alleviated her anxiety during their walk. So thank you Daisy for being such an amazing dog walker, that you made an observation that helped make my dog more comfortable on her walks. We appreciate it! We also appreciate the detailed reports on her adventures and the cute pictures you take ☺️

Kellie and Paige were both great with my dog. He’s a bigger dog and is kinda scared of meeting new people, and they were very patient with him and I on introductions and when they would come by to take him for walks. I also had several shift changes for the month I was here and they were great at communicating and flexible with their schedules, which was very kind. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

About: Hi! 🤗 thanks for checking me out! I have a ton of experience with animals! I have experience in animal hospitals and doggy daycares alike 😃 Taking care of animals is where my heart is. I’ve always had multiple animals at a time. CPR and trauma experienced. I’m available all the time currently! Which means longer walks, play in the yard, or cuddles! I walk dogs full time so don’t be shy! I can’t watch anyone in my apartment, but I can come to your home or take them out and about! My attitude changes with each animal as I learn them. Most dogs I’m pretty playful with and have a lot of high energy play, some like to just sit next to a warm body on the couch and I can do that too.

About: I’ve always loved being around animas, I have experience of animal care of well over 10 years. From horses, to dogs, cats, to rabbits. I am very comfortable being around big and small animals! I am currently babysitting a few days during the week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (rarely Wednesdays) from 1-6pm. I am usually very flexible with my schedule and always make an attempt to work things out! I will always make sure your pet has fresh, clean water and always goes potty! I always clean up after myself, and I put everything back where I found it.

About: I have a large, fenced in yard - perfect for lots of play. Pets have full range of the house and furniture unless crating is desired. I have two very playful dogs who love to chase and play tug. I work full time night shift Sunday-weds. My boyfriend is home the nights I am away. Dogs will rarely be left alone and if so only for 1-4 hours. My home has a fenced yard as well as an invisible fence due to my dogs being super expert escape artists. I am used to dogs being sneaky so it shouldn’t be an issue keeping yours safe and secure.

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
