“We have had Erin watch our pup while we are out of town twice now, and she does a fantastic job. She sends pictures and daily updates, and she is willing to go above and beyond by watering plants, feeding chickens, getting the mail, etc. When we get home the house is tidy. We will be booking Erin again in the future!”

“Betty loves Kaleigh so much and Kaleigh is a trooper for taking our girl out in the cold to make sure she gets her walks in!!! I have such peace of mind knowing she’s in good hands while we travel”

“Megan was AMAZING with my fur babies!! This was our first time having someone we didn’t personally know watch them and I cannot say enough good things about her. She kept in contact with me the whole time we were gone and sent pictures everyday. She even crocheted a bandana for our pup. She put our minds at ease while we were away. I would definitely use her again.”

“Taylor is a wonderful dog sitter who took excellent care of our furry babies! Right off the bat when we first met her we got an Excellent first impression. She is very warm and friendly and was great with our dogs! When we came home after our weekend away our dogs were relaxed and happy.”

“Nancy was absolutely amazing!! She spent quality time with Millie and kept me posted throughout the sitting on how Millie was doing. “From start to finish, working with Wade was a pleasure. Not only is Wade professional, courteous, and communicative, he also has a natural patience and kindness to animals. We booked him for a week for to stay at our house to watch our dogs and cats and he gave detailed reports of their well-being every day, including photos. There wasn't a moment that we didn't feel comfortable using Wade's service and will be happy to book him again soon!”

“Natalie was honestly one of the best sitters I’ve ever had on Rover, hands down. She came to meet my fur babes twice before the stay, which immediately put me at ease. She’s just really thoughtful and has such a calm, natural way with animals, you can tell right away she knows what she’s doing and genuinely cares. While I was away, she kept me updated and everything felt easy and stress free the whole time. At one point I even had a perishable package delivered and she took care of it without me even asking, which just says a lot about how attentive she is. But honestly, the biggest thing is how much my pets liked her. That’s always the real test, and they were totally comfortable with her. I’d absolutely have her stay with them again in a heartbeat.”

“Christina is a diligent and caring dog and house watcher. She took the time to meet the dogs and asked great questions about their care and needs. During her stay, she kept in touch with texts and pictures. The dogs just loved her! It was so nice to have a weekend away knowing my pups were safe and being loved.”

“Ashlyn was Amazing! She kept us informed with pictures from every visit. I had no worries that our dogs were well taken care of while we were away. She has earned a repeat customer for us! Thank you so much Ashlyn!!”

“My family and I room our first week long vacation this past week and while I was so exited I was also a nervous wreck because I’d never left my animals (1 dog/2 cats) with anyone but family. We had a meet and greet with sandy and she eased a lot of my fears. Sandy stayed at our home and By the 2nd day of our trip I knew that my animals were in the best hands possible! She sent me text and picture updates throughout our trip which made me feel so much better. She truly took care of them as if they were her own and we are so appreciative! She will definitely be our go to sitter the next time we need one!”

“Angel watched our two energetic, large dogs and was wonderful! The dogs were happy and well-cared for when we returned, as was our home. Angel was easy to work with and a great communicator. We will definitely book with Angel again!”

“Kristie did a great job helping our shy dog get acclimated to having a new sitter, kept us updated on how she was doing and sent great pictures. We appreciate her and can't wait for her to dog sit again in the future!”

About: I have over ten years of animal care experience. From senior dogs and cats to puppies and kittens, I am patient, responsible, and fun. I would love to give your fur baby some love and appreciate your trust in me. I am free on all weekends and holidays. I do work an 8 hour shift monday through friday, 6:45am to 3:15pm. I walk daily so having a companion with me fits in perfectly. I have a fenced in backyard and a very friendly cat. I go on daily walks myself so having a fur companion with me would be something I would love!
“Kaylee was fantastic and made going away a breeze! She was responsive, professional, and very competent. She gave us regular updates and pictures which was great. I 10/10 recommend her and will definitely go to her first when we need someone we can trust with our pups.”

“Isabella was amazing!!! She was so sweet and my animals took to her right away. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats and the cats usually hide when people come over but after the first hour she was there I got a picture of the cats hanging out which says a lot! She sent pictures of everyone and kept me updated on when she was leaving and coming back. I highly recommend her!!! Her love for animals shows so much and coming from a crazy dog mom I would hire her again in a heartbeat.”

“Mary is a very caring and responsible sitter! She kept me informed of the status every day and sent great pictures. She also went above and beyond, shoveling my walkway for me on my return day! Would definitely book again!”

Nancy was exceptional. We have a very unique and rigid routine with our dog due to her history, which requires a sitter to remain in our home overnight with limited time out of the home. We have had varying experiences with sitters following her care guidance and took a chance on Nancy after a wonderful meet and greet. Nancy was extremely attentive to all the details of her stay and maintained our routines beautifully. Kova was cared for just as well as she would have been if we were home. Being away for a week and trusting another person to care for your pets can be a challenge, and Nancy was not hesitant to step in to meet this challenge head on. She communicated with us each day and let us know if Kova was feeling unwell or if she had any questions about our care. She quelled our anxieties by keeping us informed of changes. She was flexible as needed and we had no concerns about our girls wellbeing. Nancy cares for our cat as well, who is relatively shy but warmed up quickly! Nancy left our home clean, washed up bedding despite being our guest, and brought in all our mail and deliveries. I would recommend anyone who needs an attentive sitter to meet with Nancy. We will happily have her back again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Stanton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Stanton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Stanton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
