“Kayleigh was so great with my dogs and she went above and beyond to care for my senior dog. Communication was top notch and she kept me updated about everything. She’s great and we can’t wait to see her again.”
“We hired Megan for a nine night in-home dogsitting job. She truly went above and beyond and we came home to find our pups safe and well cared for. She took it upon herself to create handmade gifts for both dogs and my two children just because that’s the kind of person she is. Would highly recommend and we would be thrilled to re-book in the future!”

“Taylor was absolutely amazing! She was so sweet and made sure to update us on how our pup was doing while we were away. She was very thorough in taking care of him. We will absolutely book her again when we go away.”

About: Hi my name is Rylee! I am a veterinary technician who just recently graduated for my veterinary technician degree. I work and have worked at a veterinary clinic in Plum, Pa. I have 4 beautiful dogs of my own and one sweet cat Tinkerbell. Out of my large fur family I have 2 Labrador retrievers Finnagan and Drake, and 2 little fur babies Zoey and Koda who are Pomeranians and chihuahua. I’ve been taking care of animals most of my whole life and feel in love with them and made them my passion in life. I have a wide range of knowledge with animals due to my full time job as a technician and schooling which has helped me work with almost every kind of pet I’m currently a part bartender and stay at one mom with plenty of time during the days and evenings to help with all types of pet care needs! I currently take care of my family members dogs, including my own everyday with walks and feeding schedules that matches their daily routine when I am not there. If any animal would need to be crated, specific feeding, playtime, and medication delivery I can absolutely provide all of those needs.
About: I have owned my own dog for the past 15 years. Experienced with difficult eaters, medication needs, walking, playing etc. Experienced with dogs who don’t like other dogs. Currently at home most of the day most days. Will spend a lot of quality time with your pet. I’ll cater to how your pet wants to spend their time: cuddling, playing, walks, napping. I’ll provide whatever level of care and safety your pet is used to in your home and neighborhood. My goal is to make their time away from you as much like if you were there.
“Jessika was fantastic with our senior papillon, Ziggy, during a in-home stay over a long weekend. She did a meet and greet before our trip and Ziggy took an instant liking to her. She is excellent with animals. She gave us regular updates, including many pictures and videos (highlighted by a “We are Penn State” cheer). We were able to enjoy our vacation worry free knowing our dog was in great hands with Jessika. Bonus, I think she left the house even cleaner than how we left it for her!”

“Our Newf Ted loved his time with Beatriz and Hayden. They were wonderful companions for Ted and great houseguests. We’d highly recommend them and hope they can watch Ted in the future.”

“Savannah was wonderful with our sweet Lucy girl! She lives very close to us, within 10 minutes, so it was a convenient arrangement for everyone. She kept our puppy entertained and played with in our home and yard while we were away for a 3 day trip. Highly recommend her and look forward to having her sit for us again!”

About: I ran a small independent animal rescue for many years and have trained and had dogs and cats my entire adult life. My expertise is big bully breed dogs and senior animal care but I’ve cared for many types of dog and cats. I no longer have pets of my own, I’d sure love to spend some time with yours. I am self-employed and work remotely, I can bring my job with me wherever I go. I have no set schedule so I can easily adapt the needs of your pets. I have extensive experience with senior and aging dogs/cats. I am very good at keeping a calm commanding presence. Proficient in crate training, potty clean-ups, feeding and preparing meals, and basic hygiene and grooming. I adore animals and caring for them.

About: Dog owner since 1970. My property has TWO fenced in yards, one in front, and one in back, with a gate in between if needed. Dogs love me and I love them. ❤️ I have an older service dog as well, and am able to help train a dog if needed. I'm semi-retired, so it's rare that your dog would be left alone at all, but if you're dog enjoys being left alone, that's always an option as well. Communication is the key.... feeding times, special needs, etc. I have everything needed to pet sit. My property has TWO fenced in yards, one in front and one in back with a gate in between. My home has whole house ac and vinyl flooring. I have 3 dogs to keep your dog company, or those two seperate fenced yards if requested or needed. I also have crates for dogs that enjoy that den feeling.
About: I absolutely love spending time with furry friends! I’ve cared for puppies, senior dogs, and even some shy rescues. I enjoy taking dogs for long walks, playing fetch at the park, and giving all the belly rubs they deserve. I’m responsible, punctual, and make sure each pet gets personalized attention and affection while you’re away. I’m currently a college student with a flexible class schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of quality time with pets throughout the week. I usually have mornings and evenings free, perfect for walks, playtime, and cuddles. Taking care of animals is a great way for me to relax and recharge between classes—it honestly makes my day better! I make sure every pet in my care feels safe, happy, and loved. While I don’t have a fenced yard, I live just a short walk away from a beautiful dog park where pets can get plenty of safe, supervised outdoor time. I always keep dogs on a leash during walks and pay close attention to their comfort and behavior. At home, I have two super friendly resident pets who love meeting new friends and are great at helping other pets feel relaxed and welcome. I keep my space clean, calm, and pet-friendly, with lots of cozy spots for rest and play. Your furry friend will be treated just like family here! 🐶💛

Im currently looking to take on a few clients (multiple pet families & senior/special needs pets/exotic pets) that require more of my time, training and attention. Some are just puppies lol Unfortunately, this app does not provide a description of your pet or what exactly you are looking for . About: I live in Scottdale but I’m very familiar with ALL surrounding areas. I’m a homemaker, so I’m available practically any time to come offer care to your furry (or not so furry!) loved ones! Currently we have 2 dogs, a purebred 32lb female Siberian Husky & a Designer Breed 15lb female Pomsky. They are both crate trained & house trained. Both are fully registered ESA (Emotional Support Animals) & I take that very seriously as to their training & how exactly I want them to behave. I recently lost my female German Shepherd; & a year prior my male Siberian Husky. My male Siberian was epileptic so I’m experienced in offering meds and know that having them on hand & on time IS A MUST for things of this nature! My shepherd was very elderly (about 14) & required a lot of extra love, care & attention also. So I am also compassionate about animals that need some extra loving. *I offer very basic kitty care. I cannot host cats in my home due to the prey drive of my husky, sometimes she’s ok with them, other times not. *I’ll do feedings for lizards as I have had a few bearded dragons myself as well so I’m knowledgeable here also. (But under no circumstances ask me to care for your snake, or your spider!) ***I offer potty breaks, walks, playtime, feed & water breaks, treat time, medication administration ALL in my standard fee. Anything else, just ask! I’m very flexible & willing to work out most things if we can come to an agreement suitable for both sides. Can’t wait to meet the furry parts of your family.🐾 Pretty much available whenever. I can usually work out something that’s suitable if I am not. Reach out with any questions! We can almost always work out an agreement. No fence but my yard is safe, multiple leashes, 2 porches, in a friendly community for walks. Small home but very lovable and friendly and cozy. My dogs are crate trained but good with other dogs, socialized, UTD on shots, but my girls are not spayed so if you have a male I allow ONLY altered ones at this time.
“Kimberly did an outstanding job taking care of my dog Koko while I was away. Koko loved her company and I came home to find him happy and relaxed. She followed his routine walks and feedings, just as I had asked her. She communicated with me often and sent me pictures. I couldn't have found a better pet sitter.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 1,253 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Madison. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Madison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Madison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Madison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
