About: I grew up around dogs and understand the love, attention, and exercise they need to be happy and healthy. I have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy everything from casual neighborhood walks to longer adventures. When caring for your dog, I’ll treat them like one of my own—providing plenty of attention, exercise, and care while giving you peace of mind that they’re in good hands. I work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, which allows me to provide dog walking services in the evenings and on weekends. Most weekends I am available, especially with a little advance notice to plan ahead. I’m happy to work with pet owners to find a schedule that fits both their needs and mine. Growing up with dogs and having a love for the outdoors, I enjoy spending time walking and caring for pets, ensuring they get the exercise, attention, and care they deserve. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Having grown up with dogs and spent years caring for them, I understand their body language and can recognize when they’re tired, stressed, overwhelmed, or simply need a break. I will treat your dog as if they were my own—with patience, kindness, and attention to their individual needs—so you can feel confident knowing they’re in caring and capable hands.
“I had a great experience with Jo-Ellen! My dog was very well taken care of. She was very happy to be in a home with another dog her size. I got pictures and updates throughout the entire weekend. And Jo-Ellen is just such a kind person. Will absolutely use in the future!”

“Catherine took such great care of my two dogs that it felt like they had a vacation of their own! She was very responsive, caring, and patient, sending daily pictures and updates. My dogs got plenty of exercise and enjoyed lots of new experiences. Highly recommended!”

“Kona was welcomed and well cared for at Sara's. We had to return to the house to pick up something we forgot when we picked her up, and she got so excited when she saw their house. That says it all!”

“Brenda took extremely good care of Bella while we were away. She send pics, videos and messages daily so we could see Bella enjoying her time away. We knew Bella was in good hands with Brenda so we could relax and enjoy our vacation.”

“Jordan was absolutely fantastic with Willow. This was her first time being boarded and I think she felt like it was a vacation! She got to play with other dogs and settled right in - no issues at all. I am very happy with the care and attention that Jordan had with my fur baby. Thank you so much, Jordan!”

“Amber is everything you could hope for in a pet sitter! It was clear that Amber and family treated Milo like he was one of their own during the five days he stayed with them. She understood that he needed a day to settle in, and was patient and attentive to his needs. We received daily photos and could see how happy Milo was. We are so grateful to have found Amber and look forward to booking her again soon (and Milo will be so happy too)!”

“Searching someone to care for my sweet boy, Charlie, came at a stressful time last week. I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful experience we had with Tara A. in Lancaster, PA. The kind, caring and fun nature of their home and care leaves me forever indebted to them. And relieved to know that anytime Charlie may need to stay at Camp Tara’s in the future — there’s no place I’d rather he go! Many thanks, again, Tara A.! Charlie hated to see you walk away. Cheers to a happy 2023!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
