“Heather and Spencer were fantastic with my furbaby! I never thought my dog would get so attached to a male! Scooter followed Heather's son around everywhere! Heather kept me constantly updated with pics, videos, and conversation our whole vacation. They both truly treat your pet like their own. We scheduled another stay with them.”

“It was the first time we leave our dog here in the Usa...and we couldn't choose better!! Vicky and all her family were amazing with Hope...she sent us a lot of photos and video...and kept us updated with everything they did during the day...so we could enjoy our trip at best!!”

“Great location when we flew out of Punta Gorda. The fenced in acreage was a great experience for or dog and Chelsea and Andrew gave her wonderful care. A happy, tired doggy upon picking her up. They communicated real well during our absence and we would leave her again there.”

“Genalind and the whole family were great with my dogs.. will definitely book with her again. Great pictures and keeping me posted with my dogs all day.. We loved that.. thank you so much”

“Jessica and her girls did a great job with our girls - Rosey & Remy! We felt very comfortable leaving them with their family. Our girls were well cared for and we received pix daily from Jessica while we were away. When we picked up our 2 everything was clean and ready, and the girls we happy and content. No stress, no worries! Thank you Jessica and family, we look forward to another sitting opportunity in the future!”

“This is the second time we have boarded with Ms. Anna - I cannot say enough praise - she is amazing with our high energy Husky! She sent updates and photos and genuinely loves animals. She is our go-to caregiver :)”

“I can not fully express my gratitude to Tara. She is professional, kind, and goes far above and beyond what is expected. This was the first time we left our puppy Jack with anyone. Tara took the time to meet us prior to his boarding. She had us at hello. Tara made us feel comfortable that Jack would be well taken care of. Tara sent pictures of Jack playing and you could see nothing but pure joy. He was treated like one of the family. He arrived home smelling fantastic and was very clean despite the rainy weather. Tara made every effort to accommodate both Jack and our needs. Tara exceeded our exceptions and there is a special place in our hearts for her and her kindness. I only wish I could fully express what a wonderful experience this was. You can absolutely feel safe and confident leaving your pet with Tara. Things went so well that we actually worried that Jack would not want to come home!”

“I chose Deb as my sitter the first time I used Rover and I will choose her again. If I have to leave him with someone again. She was fantastic with Levi. I much preferred the direct care of someone I can do a meet and greet with, get to know the person that is willing to care of my sweet Levi, like I do. She sent me pictures & up dates each day, they played outside every day, he slept in her bed. We go camping and Levi always goes with, but this time we went to an AirBNB (No dogs aloud) his first time away from us, and he did fine.”

“Amy took excellent care of my dog. She was very nice and welcoming. She sent pictures of my dog and communicated well. Would recommend her and her husband to anyone!”

“Julie & her husband were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They routinely kept us in the loop with pictures and updates and their dog seemed to be kind and welcoming of guests. Highly recommend!”

“Sheree has saves us one more time and this time by hosting Lulu last minute and also allowing us to leave her overnight even if it wasn’t our original plan. Thank you for your kindness and helping us!”

“Mai is a wonderful dog sitter! My dog was so happy to spend six days under Mai's care. He got to play with other dogs, and the attention Mai gave our pup was phenomenal!!!”

About: I grew up around dogs and understand the love, attention, and exercise they need to be happy and healthy. I have a passion for the outdoors and enjoy everything from casual neighborhood walks to longer adventures. When caring for your dog, I’ll treat them like one of my own—providing plenty of attention, exercise, and care while giving you peace of mind that they’re in good hands. I work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, which allows me to provide dog walking services in the evenings and on weekends. Most weekends I am available, especially with a little advance notice to plan ahead. I’m happy to work with pet owners to find a schedule that fits both their needs and mine. Growing up with dogs and having a love for the outdoors, I enjoy spending time walking and caring for pets, ensuring they get the exercise, attention, and care they deserve. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Having grown up with dogs and spent years caring for them, I understand their body language and can recognize when they’re tired, stressed, overwhelmed, or simply need a break. I will treat your dog as if they were my own—with patience, kindness, and attention to their individual needs—so you can feel confident knowing they’re in caring and capable hands.
“Mary and her family received Rosie with loving care right from our meet and greet until I picked her up after being on vacation for 5 days. I would definitely recommend Mary and take Rosie to her again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Akron
Absolutely wonderful pet care! Tanya and David were extremely accommodating to our two large dogs (rottweiler, belgian malinois). They have specialized diets that werent an issue and we received updates throughout our entire trip. You could tell they really care about your fur buddy just as much as you do. Definitely will be rebooking in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
