About: As a kid, my family would often take care of our friend's dogs, but we never had one of our own. Now, I'm a dad of three young humans and one bundle of fluff named Simba. Oh and let's not forget Victoria, our rabbit. We love havinganimals, and we still love watching other people's animals too. I'm also offering to house-sit, and take other people's dogs (either solo or with my Simba) for walks. I mostly work from home and never leave a dog alone while in my care. We take several walks per day, including morning, lunch, and at least two in the evening. I have a comfortable living space, a nice yard area, nice green space and a park nearby. When dogsitting, I take very little space for myself and leave the space better than when I found it.
“Matthew has been an amazing pet sitter and care taker for my two boys, including my senior cat with significant health concerns. I was kept updated with each visit, and Matt was very communicative with medications and how much each boy ate. I feel secure whenever Matt watched my boys!”
About: I’ve taken care of animals my entire life, from dogs and cats to reptiles. I worked at a pet store from ages 16 to 18, where I learned to care for many types of pets. For the past five years, I’ve managed a local animal shelter, gaining hands on experience with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Friends, family, and neighbors have always trusted me to walk, feed, and care for their pets as if they were my own. I also have two dogs, 1 cat, 2 lizards and 1 tortoise of my own. I have a bachelors in wildlife conservation biology. Animals care is a huge passion of mine. I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to your pets. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and other care at your home. Pet care easily fits into my daily routine since I love spending my time around animals and giving them the attention they deserve. I share my home with two friendly dogs, a cat and reptiles who love making new friends! I also have experience caring for farm animals and any type of small animal. So I’m comfortable with a wide variety of pets and personalities. I always make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own.
“Katrina shows so much love and care to our Bernedoodle Kylo. She is responsible and is always on time for drop in visits with him so that he gets the proper care while we are away. I highly recommend Katrina!!! A+++++++”
“Lorenzo did a wonderful job taking care of my dog, Lacey! He came over for a few hours, took her on a nice walk, played with her, and made sure she was comfortable and happy the entire time. It was clear that Lacey felt at ease with him, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I’d absolutely recommend Lorenzo to anyone looking for a responsible and caring dog sitter!”

About: With over 10 years of dedicated dog care experience, we offer compassionate attention and reliable care tailored to your furry friend's needs. From daily walks to playtime and grooming, your dog will receive the utmost love and attention, ensuring their comfort and happiness while you're away. Travis works from home which allows us to offer constant companionship and supervision. Roberta is a teacher nearby, providing the ability to come home early for extra cuddles. We had a 10 year-old German shepherd mix named Marshall, that recently passed, that we adopted from a rescue at 8 weeks old so we have the ability and patience to host puppies. Marshall was our first family dog, Roberta grew up with multiple dogs caring for them from pups through seniors. Additionally, our 6 year-old daughter has enough energy to provide tons of additional fetch and chase time. We also have a 1 year old that can’t wait to get in on the action! We are able to (and love) having pups with special needs. Marshall's best friend was blind and we cared for him on many occasions. We can also administer medications and prepare specialized meals when needed. We have a large backyard that allows for plenty of jaunts and potty breaks. As well as plenty of space in the house for quiet time and naps. Your pup will have full access to make themselves comfortable in their home away from home. Travis works from home allowing for full time care. Roberta is a teacher nearby and is home early to allow for additional time and attention. We are able to fit your pup into our daily feeding, potty, play schedule or can adjust to meet their needs. In our home, your pets are treated like family. They'll enjoy a cozy environment with plenty of playtime in our large yard or indoors if it's too hot/cold. They'll have plenty of play time if they like or space to chill if that's what they prefer. Your pet will have access to our home to nap and play wherever they feel comfortable, and we also have the space to crate if, that's your preference.
“David did drop-in visits for me while I was traveling for work. He was polite, professional, and friendly. My boyfriend and my cats approve! Would definitely recommend.”

“Nicole was a lifesaver for our Thanksgiving trip. We recently moved to the area and struggled to find someone to watch our cat while we were traveling. We recently lost one cat a few weeks ago, so we were nervous about leaving her alone after so many years as a two-cat household. Nicole was prompt, and we could tell that Cupboard was well cared for.”

“Wow. I can’t say enough about the quality of care Brandon provided to our active dog Coco (who needed medicine administered and extra TLC during his visit) and our kitty Cora. His communication with us and the animals was wonderful, he updated us in real time, and everyone was in great shape when we arrived home. We’ll definitely be rebooking with Brandon!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since the age 5 when I was gifted my first pup. I love my dogs as if they were my children. I have 10yr old 80lb boxer mix and a 9mo poodle. Servicing Rockland County, New York and Bergen County New Jersey I’m currently in school to be a certified life coach. My husband owns a cleaning business and I help him from time to time. I would like to fill in my days getting outside and caring for your fur babies. I can care for your dog at home as instructed. I also have a medium poodle that is fully vaccinated and in great health that I can bring along to play with your pup.
About: I've cared for pets since I was 16 years old. I helped my family, friends, and neighbors when they needed someone to take care of their pet(s). I've cared for a ton of pets ranging from fish, hermit crabs, birds, bunnies, gerbils, hamsters, cats, to dogs. I love dogs so much I created a dog blog on the side as a hobby. I am currently writing remotely from home for work with a flexible schedule with time to also take care of your pet during most of the hours. I am easily able to take care of my own dog with ease. I have a little teddybear dog of my own, and completely understand the love and care pets receive from their owners. I get that it is your baby you do not need to worry. I will respect, honor, and care for your pet just as you would.
“Taylor was the best cat sitter I have had on Rover so far! She was so thorough taking care of my cat Eleanor - sending lots of photos/updates, playing with her lots every day, and making sure she was happy while I was away. I felt super safe, and would definitely book her again. Thanks Taylor! 🙏”

“Stephanie takes great care of all of our pets, is quick to respond to questions/concerns about them, and was able to accommodate our booking on a day's notice due to a family emergency that required us to travel immediately. I highly recommend her!”
About: I have been around dogs my entire life! My family dog of 12 years passed away last year, but she definitely taught me a lot. I have experience with dogs of all ages, even senior dogs! I am a recent college graduate (Bucknell University Class of 2024!) taking a gap year before pursuing a master's degree. This means my schedule for the time being is incredibly flexible, and I can help accommodate to your scheduling needs! I happily follow all instructions left for your pet care, and am happy to send consistent updates about your pets well-being! Whatever makes you most comfortable in your home!
About: I have a genuine love for animals with over 25 years experience in personally caring for Dogs, Cats, Small Animals, Reptiles and so much more. I am available full time to care for all types of pets, I am looking to turn my endless love for animals into a career. I pay attention to detail with each individual pets needs, I am able to administer medication if needed and accommodate any other special needs or requests the pet owners may have.

About: I bring attentive, knowledgeable care tailored to your specific creature and their specific personality. I've been pet parent to dogs of all sizes, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes to my current Sheepadoodle — there's no dog size or personality that's too much or too little, IMHO. And my experience extends well beyond dogs — cats, snakes, farm animals 🐐, and more. I also happen to share my home with a ball python named Fettuccine Alfredo 🐍, who is a distinguished, low-drama fellow. As a plant parent, I will watch after yours indoor jungles, outdoor gardens, that one fiddle leaf fig you're nervous about. If you need someone who will actually look at your monstera and not just splash water in its general direction, that's me. (My avocado tree, grown from a pit, is thriving. I'm not taking questions.) Housesitting, dog walking, drop-in visits, basic training — I've got you. And if you're going away and need the whole ecosystem looked after, pets, plants, and all, I'd love to meet you. Pet care fits naturally into the rhythm of my week. My mornings are consistently free, which works well for walks and drop-in visits, and I have flexibility on Wednesdays, Fridays, and weekends for longer stays or housesitting. On days when I'm teaching in the afternoons and evenings, I'm still available in the mornings — and I keep my schedule intentionally manageable so I'm never stretched too thin across clients. This isn't something I'm squeezing in around a packed schedule — it's something I've made genuine room for. When I'm in your home for drop-in visits or housesitting, I treat it with the same care and attention I'd give my own. That means following your routines exactly as you've set them, keeping things tidy, and making sure your pets are comfortable and unstressed in their own environment. I take detailed notes at meet-and-greets so nothing gets missed while you're away. On walks, I keep dogs leashed and attentive to their individual energy and needs — a reactive dog gets a very different walk than a social butterfly, and I know the difference. I bring over thirty years of animal experience to reading body language and behavior, so I'm not caught off guard by much. My own home includes a ball python and two cats, so I'm well practiced in managing a multi-species household safely and calmly. I don't offer boarding, which means your dog's visit to my home would only ever be for a meet-and-greet in a low-key, relaxed setting. In any situation that feels off — health, behavior, anything — I err on the side of contacting you immediately and getting to a vet if needed. You'll never be left guessing.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
