Louis had the very best day - (he told me so). Within 2 seconds of being in the car, he passed out. The little doggy pool was right up his alley. Thanks so much for taking such great care of him.

About: I was notorious for bringing home stray animals as a child, my parents weren’t a big fan. My heart couldn’t take a animal being on its own. Once I got to the age of working, I jumped right into house sitting animals. I’ve been doing it for 11 years. I’m currently working part time in the evenings and have most mornings free. My schedule is open for talking about what care is needed for your pet. Traveling to your home is best for me, I do not have a pet friendly house set up currently. The animal is always more comfortable in its own environment so I’ve found. I’m all about low stress environments for them.

Karen was kind and very easy going! Our dog is very nervous and he was calm and relaxed by the time we returned. Karen and her partner were very nice. She made our Christmas Eve dinner possible. Highly recommend!

This was Nova's second visit with Martha and it couldn't have gone better. She took great care with her, took her on lots of long walks and gave her a bath and brushed her. I don't think Nova has ever looked so good. Much better than the professional groomers. In the future I might just leave Nova with Martha for the day just for her great grooming skills. Martha is caring and Nova really warmed to her. I would highly recommend her.

Ashley was great with Farley and had other friendly dogs there for Farley to play with. They went on a field trip and dipped in the water and Ashley sent photos throughout the day of Farley having fun. Thanks Ashley!

Our dog was so tired and content by the end of their day with Enzo and Enzo's dog. Adorable picture of them playing/hanging out outside. Communication was super easy and prompt, we felt really comfortable with our pup being in their care, and would recommend them to watch anybody's fur baby!!

We had an excellent experience with our dog sitter, Veska. She took amazing care of Oaits and was gentle, attentive, and highly professional throughout. She made sure to understand what Oatis’ needs were by communicating with us and kept us up to date through out the stay. It was clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and we felt completely at ease knowing Oaits was in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dog sitter.

Very sweet person! Totally a dog person!!! Cece was so comforting for us and our puppy, who had never been without us before. It was a big deal that she was communicative while we were away, letting us know she was okay as well sending photos. Last minute acheduling was important for our situation and she was immediately available. We will definitely ask her again if we are in the area and need a sitter.

About: I’m a newly retired teacher and former principal that loves my doggies! Over the years, I’ve had so much love from my very special friends. Would love to give and get some loves from your treasured family member. I literally live in the middle of Stratham Hill Park and I love to walk. Only one “little guy” at a time…🥰 I’m loving my retirement and have lots of time and love to give. I have some scheduled exercise classes in the mornings but always home by 10:30. I’ve had so many dogs over the years. Routine visits to the vet are mandatory and walking, playing, and interacting with my friends are essential. I’m also very familiar with dogs with anxiety. One needs to approach this in a calm and careful way and watch the signs for anxiety coming on and be able to respond with love and kindness. Living right in the middle of Stratham Hill Park, I have easy access to the walking trails. Because I don’t know your dog, they will never be off leash but will be outside often during the day!! I love to walk. 🥰 I have a lovely crate IF your dog prefers this quiet space, but I will not be crating unless you ask me to. Typically my 11 year old grandson will come by after school to snuggle, play and go for a walk with me and your pup!

Leah was amazing with my puppy! She watched him for the entire day on very short notice while I was working and even dropped him off at my house afterward. She sent lots of pictures throughout the day and was very communicative, responding quickly to messages. I felt completely comfortable knowing my puppy was in great hands. I’m so thankful she was able to accommodate us on such short notice and would absolutely trust her with my puppy again. Highly recommend!

Nicole took great care of my dog during a daycare, and she has a safe and awesome yard. It’s always hard leaving your best friend with a new sitter, but I could tell that my dog had a great day and we will definitely come back to Nicole’s for future daycare and boarding!

About: I've always had a natural connection with dogs since childhood. Dogs have always gravitated to my calm energy and ability to sense their needs. Your dog will not just be taken care of but will feel safe like they're spending time with an old friend. Retired computer nerd and musician available for dog walking and house visits most days of the week. Some dogs are welcome in our home with fenced in yard and 5 y.o. yellow lab Norma for playtime and companionship. My wife and I live in a wooded area in York with a large fenced in back yard. We are both retired and home most of the day to keep an eye on the pups. I am available for long or short visits to your home for dog walks and exercise to suite your needs. I am an avid walker and walk daily. I am fully insured with pet sitting/walking insurance.

About: Without exception, the dog park is always one of the best parts of my day. I've had three dogs of my own, and have been around countless other dogs, most of whom instantly become my new best friends. We just gravitate to each other, hence the fuzzy friend whisperer nickname. I have a playful, loving attitude toward every dog I meet. I am also sensitive to dogs who need a little more patience and space to ease into trusting me and respect the boundaries that they need to do that. My training style with my own dogs is focused on positive reinforcement rather than punishment. This approach translates to other dogs as well, unless their owners request differently. Your dog will be in caring, responsible hands with me. They will be loved. Vogel Emergency Vet just opened right across the street from our house, so if anything kind of emergency pops up, your baby will be a hop, skip and a jump away from the care they need. I'm self employed and work mostly from home so my schedule is quite flexible. Sometimes I’ll have drop in visits throughout the day, but if your dog is boarding with me, there will generally be someone else at home with them. They’ll rarely, if ever be left alone. I live on a small farm but also live near a road, so your dog will always be safely on a leash when we go outside for potty breaks. I have a very friendly 12 year old 45lb labradoodle named Huck to keep your baby company in the rare cases that I'm not at home. I have a "squirrel observatory" (bird feeder) right near my workspace so your dog will not only be supervised most of the time but also entertained.

Gary is outstanding with Otter! Otter has so much fun at Gary's doggie resort that he grabs his 'adventure' bag and brings it to me to remind me it's time to go to Gary's for daycare! I highly recommend him, he is fantastic!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - New Castle

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 274 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across New Castle. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your New Castle commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 274 sitters in New Castle, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
